  1. OC ReMix presents Hometown Heroes: Town Themes Arranged! November 19, 2018 Contact: press@ocremix.org FAIRFAX, VA... OverClocked ReMix today released its 68th free community arrangement album, Hometown Heroes: Town Themes Arranged. Featuring a dozen tracks from 15 artists, Hometown Heroes pays tribute to the music of video game villages, cities, and towns, and is directed by Canadian musician and game composer Emery "DaMonz" Monzerol. The album is available for free download at http://hometown.ocremix.org. Hometown Heroes invites you in with a welcoming and hospitable lineup of game music arrangers tackling town themes in a variety of styles including chiptune, funk, solo piano, bossa nova, pop, lullaby, classical, and more. Hometown Heroes was produced to promote video game music, was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by copyright owners; all games, images, characters, and original compositions are copyright their respective owners. "Hometown Heroes offers a neat little package of emotions, most of which are nice and warm and comforting. Being home, missing home, and returning home are recurring themes that create a nice range of feelings as explored by the different contributors to this project," notes album director Emery Monzerol. "Even though the concept of the project is restrictive to town themes, the multiple interpretations still make it a nice, varied experience. Every individual piece brings something different to the table." The album's selection of RPG and adventure games includes: Brave Fencer Musashi Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes Final Fantasy VI Golden Sun The Legend of Dragoon The Legend of Heroes V: A Cagesong of the Ocean The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Monster Hunter Tri Phantasy Star III Suikoden III; and Xenogears. The album's artwork was designed by Montréal-based illustrator Roxanne Chartrand, who also provided art for Monzerol's Kirby Super Star album, Kirby's Liberation Service. Hometown Heroes is also Emery Monzerol's fourth OC ReMix album as a director, following his co-direction of both Mirror Image: A Link to the Past ReMixed and Super Mario RPG: Window to the Stars in 2017 as well as directing 2014's Shuttle Remix, an arrangement album companion to Monzerol's score for Wii U platformer Shuttle Rush.. 2. This is so different from anything I've heard before. I really like it! Reminds me a little of Toejam and Earl.

  4. Entry submitted! I was at the point of second-guessing everything about my entry (a bad habit I have), so I figured it was time to submit what I had. Either way, I'm looking forward to listening to everyone's entries soon, and, on another note, I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving this Thursday! If you don't celebrate that holiday (or you have it another day), then I hope you have a happy day! Edit #1: I slightly updated my entry. Listening to it, one part felt kind of empty, so I added an accompanying synth. Hopefully, it's a bit better now!

  5. Neblix, Bustatunez, Detective Tuesday and Sixto were the main ones that I became friends with and talked to a lot. Wiesty was the one who welcomed me into the OC Jazz collective which made me examine my arranging style more closely. There are plenty more, those were just the ones I interacted with the most when I became active in 2016. Although far from a musical newbie (I had already finished a music composition degree and was working toward a career as a session horn player), I was a newbie to this scene.

  7. Yo TheVideoGamer here. Good Job on your entries guys, some really good stuff. It's been a while since voting has ending. Well 4 days to be exact. I'm patient, don't get me wrong, but is there any update on who won? I'm interested in what PRC384 will bring to the table. We haven't had anything to say who has won, and i am not sure who has won. I'm actually getting confused. Apparently PRC381 states me and Dudley Ghost have won, but i haven't found confirmation. last i checked, Dudley Ghost won by 1 extra point, nor have i received any official confirmation for any extra votes that weren't in Tha Sauce. Again it's more confusion than wonder. I just don't know what's going on right now. Maybe when the confusion clears up i will be right as rain lol.
