  1. Hello guys! I'm Hashel the founder and album organizer for the Pixel Mixers community! We are now working on what should be our 23rd or 24th album (depending on how fast we work on stuff), a tribute to Final Fantasy IX. (Current list of our albums so far => https://pixel-mixers.com/2018/04/08/pixel-mixers-albums-list/) We do free stuff (so not licensed) and we already have someone for the art (Leo Mind Waker) and mastering (Ro Panuganti). The goal would be to have at least one cover/remix by song from the original OST (songs from the OST+ are allowed but would end on a "bonus disc") but for that we'd need a bit of help Here is the sheet, with tracklist on page 1 and rules on page 2, as you can see we got most of the songs claimed already (you may recognize some names from OCR and other communities) => https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13K3di3vP2FRzDdi68NoE7J6YwPEzKNJIeAlMZeOYNPM/edit?usp=sharing The general rules are: - Deadline: 31st of March (few more days will be allowed to let ppl polish their mix if needed, but we MUST release it in end of April / start of May) - Songs must be 2 minutes long minimum (exception for the very short songs, like the sleeping jingle) - Any music style is welcome, live recording or programmed VSTs. Just do not use anything from the game itself please - You can go crazy creative with the arrangements as long as the original is still "easily" recognizable. - Songs must be sent unmastered and with the speak set around -6db Once all the songs from the main OST (you still can claim songs from the OST+ if the remaining songs from main OST do not inspire you and that duplicates are not allowed yet) is the will be claimed, we'll allow duplicates for ppl who are not already on the album and ppl who finished their 1st track (3 track maximum as main arranger but you an be a guest on as many tracks you want) If you want to have an idea of what we do, here is the trailer of the FFVI album we did last year: Okay so i hope i haven't forgot too many things, if you have any kind of questions, feel free to ask me, if you want to claim a song just tell me in here or private =) Hope to see some of you making cool tracks Thanks!

  2. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP99_Elemental_Master-End_Credits_Ver3.mid Youtube: Deadline: Jan 28th Mon @ 1PM Vote Ends: Jan 31st Thur @ 11PM Submit your remix Here when completed. MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

The winners of PRC383 and PRC384, TheVideoGamer and Klevarkoopa both can participate by remixing the source selected by the other or remixing both in one song. 4. It sounds like the closing credits to an 80's action adventure movie. I heard it a few months ago and thought it would be a great entry to MnP.

  5. @Deedubs All your contributions are personal favorites of mine. Furthermore, for some reason.. Silver Crystal resonates with me in a special way. The chill Ice Dungeon-esque vibes evoke images of Fina. You basically brought an excluded OST track back into the mix through a different source. I love that.

  6. Hi everybody, and Happy New Year! I realize I'm a little late to the listening party here, but I've been wanting to chime in myself. When @Darkflamewolf brought me on to the project in late 2015, I was super excited at the idea of an OCR album of Skies of Arcadia music. I've been anxious to hear how different people interpreted the music from Skies of Arcadia. I've been able to finally listen to Arcadia Legends a couple times through and everything just sounds great. I wanted to give some shout-outs to a few tracks that have really resonated with me: - "Victory! Glory! Profit?" by @GlacialSpoon - This one is pure fun. Get's me pumped! - "Inner Reflections" by @YoshiBlade - I remember hearing this one on @Rexy's podcast. I can't get enough of the vibe. I'm a sucker for chill atmospheres and that filtered piano in the beginning is so nice. The transitions and subtle tempo changes work so well. - "Il Buono, il brutto, il pirata dell'aria" by @Jorito, et al. - I love this one, if even only from a pure execution standpoint. Jorito did an awesome job transferring the two sources into something that feels like "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". Also, big props to Jorito for taking on that 13-minute monstrosity "To the Horizon". - "The End of a Dream" by Scott Buckley - The way this piece builds and develops is sublime. The tension buildup and payoff around 2:42 gives me goosebumps every time. I don't know if there are any other fans of Eureka Seven, but the track winds down with a 4-3 suspension definitely brings me back to the OST of that anime. - +1 from me for "Shining Silver" by Sam Dillard - I was excited when I saw Sam Dillard's name pop up in the project thread. The guy makes a lot of incredible music. "Shining Silver" feels a bit like a film score cue of our heroes experiencing the Silver Shrine for the first time, seeing in person this massive, grandiose, literally out-of-this-world structure. Another great entry by Sam!

  8. Hey, that's really good news! Ys has some fantastic music. I've been listening to the original PC-88 score a lot at work.

  9. Mr. L, nice X-Mas-y interpretation of the theme. The Low-Fi vibe makes it feel gives it a GBA vibe, so great nostalgia to be gleamed there. Trism made a great come-back! Love those chime bells (edit) and the percussion is, as usual, well produced. It's very MnP, in all the good ways lol. And nice play on words with the title "Advancing into the Holidays."

  10. Submitted! *EDIT* Resubmitted, I forgot to make an ending to my entry. For some reason the preview is still the old version, but if you download it, it's the new version with the ending. Weird.

  11. Also worth noting that this exposed a bug: If you edit a compo from the previous year, the system will set it to the current year. The interface right now does not support changing to a year prior to the current year. Use caution when accessing the last compos of the year right now. They will need to be updated directly by me and fusion to fix.

  12. Oohh, the eponymous savior doth descend his ivory throne to administer admin-administrationts?? K, I got nothing. OK...will-do. @Bundeslang, you're on it, right!?

  13. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't feel comfortable adding new admins given the nature of the admin panel. Give me a few days to strip down some of the more...sensitive features and this shouldn't be a problem. This is something I've already implemented on my development branch, so it'll just be a matter of pushing it the live branch. Someone ping me either here, or on the ThaSauce Facebook page probably sometime next weekend (the 12th, I'm still on vacation until the 7th) and we can revisit this. In the meantime, I'm fine with the existing admins assisting with the compo on the site.
