  1. Also, please welcome @Clement Panchout to the project! He's going to be picking up the Evergreen source. He linked me to some of the his previous work offsite and I am VERY much looking forward to hearing what he does with this track. Welcome aboard, Clement!

  2. *A MINOR ANNOUNCEMENT* (By which I mean the announcement is quite small, not in the key of A minor. Unless you want to sing along to this post of course. That's totally your choice.) I'm happy to announce that @Jorito will be joining the project staff as Co-Director and @Odai will be moving across into a Project Advisor role. Jorito has a lot of experience with getting album projects completed and up to the required standards, and Odai (as the OG project creator) is staying on to provide assistance where he can and will generally be around the place. Both of them will be copied into all direct messages with remixers so don't be surprised if they weigh in on WIP feedback or similar. Thanks again to everyone involved with the album.

  5. Hi! It's been a while since I posted on OCRemix, ... but now finally my new VGM album is out! It's called Rock 'n' Roll for Basement Dwellers and has 8 classic rock and funk covers of video game songs – this time with vocals. Songs are from Mega Man 3, Mega Man 10, Phantasy Star 2, Blades of Steel, and other games. Reactions have been very positive so far. Hope you like it! 7. This has gotta be one of the best source arrangements in the whole Zelda series. If my mix sounds good right now - don't fool yourself! You don't like my arrangement, you like the composition. So I'm giving this source some sweet lovin'. Source: ReMix: Zora Band v. 2: And One More For the Road v.3: Song for Brother Mikau v.4: Version 3 felt too muddy. Opted for a brighter sound, and less reverb. Added some limiting and very very tiny amounts of compression. Who Mixed This Chateau Romani?

  8. This song has quite a history. This was always imagined to be the centerpiece to the entire album in my eyes. One of the key defining features of the Delphinus track was how it would subtly change as you flew near each of the major continents of the world, different instrumentation layering itself to give a different flavor as you travel through each section. That aspect of the track always stuck out to me and I was always hoping we could incorporate that somehow into the remixed version. Although the album already featured a few interesting combo tracks, where we mixed two similar or even dissimilar songs together to form an interesting blend, this was going to be on a whole different level. So I started pitching the idea to many people, saying the Delphinus track, if they were interested in it, had a VERY special requirement request placed upon it. Most were intrigued by the source tune, but the moment they heard the additional requirements to add into the song, they immediately bowed out. I can't recall how many remixers I approached with this track, each one turning it down for various reasons. It was getting to be one of the last 4-5 tracks left on the album unclaimed. We were starting to despair that we would even get anyone at all for it and the original vision I had wanted. I was considering taking away the request and just having the plain source tune by itself be the only thing a remixer would have to do. Help arrived in the form of @Jorito. At first, he wasn't keen on producing another track for the album, having since submitted one already in the form of il buono, il brutto, il pirata dell'aria. He was busy with various other projects and remix songs. So I moved on to pitch it to others. In the end, he came back around and asked about the album and I mentioned there were only a few tracks left. He was interested in the request for the Delphinus and I told him my vision. He said it was highly interesting and he would think on it. I think a week or two went by and he came back inspired, saying he had the perfect idea for it. Why just layer instrumentation over the original melody? Why not just take the listener directly into the culture of each moon, incorporating rather the Delphinus track INTO the separate musical elements rather than those cultural tracks into the Delphinus? Let Delphinus be the bridge to this big melody than the sole focus? After many months of going back and forth and tons of feedback, he dropped what simply was one of the best and most impressive songs of the entire album. He even loved the title to our second disc that he asked if he could appropriate it for his own song. Given that it was a bridge between disc 2 and 3, I figured there was no better track name for this than that. The moment I heard it, I knew immediately it was going to be the showstopper to end the second disc and seque us into the third. It had elements of songs that had come before and previewed songs we had yet to hear. It was the perfect bridge to the perfect album for Skies of Arcadia. Thank you again, @Jorito for a job well done!

  12. I have tried a few times to download the link, but it keeps coming up as a corrupt RAR. The size is also only 12.7MB every time, which doesn't seem quite large enough for that many files. I reached out to Audity on his YouTube channel, as well as the user he said he received the files from. I haven't heard back from either but I'm very interested in the VGMix X dumps. Bradless also located a few hundred VGMix X songs as well so I'll be going through those ASAP. Update regarding this: I have been able to contact Audity and get his collection of over 800 VGMix X songs!

  14. **2 WEEKS POST-RESURRECTION** The two week 'grace period' is over and I've got to say I'm extremely pleased with the amount of people who have returned to the project. We have no less than 15 finished tracks from before we went on hiatus and from wonderful remixer's who finished their tracks while we were away. @Chimpazilla has also very kindly agreed to return as our resident mixer/masterer for the project, so I'd like to say a massive thanks to her as well. Sadly however there are a few people who have decided not to rejoin or haven't been back to the site for quite a while and as such haven't replied to my message from two weeks ago. As such there is a brand new list of source track available for claiming, which is included below. I'll be asking @Odai to update the opening post in due time to reflect this as well. If anyone is interested in picking a source please drop me a DM and we'll discuss further. I will be looking to get this album done, dusted and delivered by December 19th, 2019, which is the anniversary of the EU release date of the game (thank you for pointing that out, @Jorito!) That means that we'll need to get all tracks finalized and evaluated by September in order to give the site staff time to do their thing. Due to the slightly tighter deadline I'm going to be asking remixers for updates every 2 weeks, not necessarily a full WIP update but just a check-in at the very least, though I will of course be flexible where the need arises (I'm not a *complete* monster. Mostly.). AVAILABLE TRACKS: DISC 1: REST (Generally calm and ambient/happy) Sanctuary Nomads in the Desert DISC 2: QUEST (Generally upbeat and positive/driven) Overworld DISC 3: BATTLE! (Generally dark and brooding/heavy) Dr. Beruga Boss Fight A massive thank you to everyone who has returned or even just responded to my increasingly delirious messages over the last 2 weeks. The real work now begins in earnest.

  16. Hey all!! I’ve been following OCR for a long time and gotten a lot of my musical inspiration from listening to community albums, mostly in the Sonic series. So I figured I would post one of my recent mixes here! This is partly a self-advertisement, so feel free to remove this post if that’s against a rule, but I’m mostly just looking for feedback on production. I have a lot to learn when it comes to mixing, and I really want to get better so I can create clearer and more cohesive masters. All tips are appreciated!! But here’s my take on “Rude Buster” from DeltaRune. And if you enjoy it feel free to like/subscribe to my YouTube channel!! I’m working hard on the next remix, and if you like Undertale I think you’re gonna enjoy this one.
