Secret of Evermore 'Pangaea's Onomotapoeia'
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I might be able to weave it into something else if I can find a song it goes into, but a lot of my remixes tend to be ambient oriented and with some going through already, I fear being typecast. Appreciate the comment. -
This isn't really a remix, I'm not planning to submit it to ocremix (unless they want it), but not enough love is given to SOE, so I enhanced the menu theme. http://www.zshare.net/audio/50368550478199aa/

Alright, fuck the guide book. Here's what I'm going with. Xenogears (Complete, Not Greatest Hits edition. Good condition) - $50.00 Castlevania Dracula X (Box and Instructions. Worn but not bad) - $75.00 Star Ocean: 2nd Story (Bought this New, never played it) - $35.00 Shadowrun for SNES (Never played. Game label worn off almost completely. I need to test this cart to make sure it works) - $15.00 Silpheed for Sega CD (Should be good condition, never got to play it. Box and instructions) - $7.00 Dragon Warrior III/IV (Just the carts) III - $38.00 IV - $50.00 Tobal No. 2 (NTSC-J version. Disc and box everything are good) $12.00 Persona 1 (2 copies. Need to check condition. Not looking to part cheaply) - $65.00 I'm locked out of my paypal account, so that's not a payment option right now. I ship to US states only from Tennessee. I'm willing to price negotiate. Anything else? Any interest?

Like I said, I can't find my pricing guide, which is what I'd be going by. The minimum I would sell them for would be whatever's on the price tag. That being said, I don't actually know if I want to sell those titles in particular, but the ones above it I know I want to sell.

I have another round of games I want to sell, but I can't find a guide to show me how much their worth and I'd hate to price gouge for some of them. The games I'm wanting to sell are: Xenogears (Complete, Not Greatest Hits edition. Good condition) Castlevania Dracula X (Box and Instructions. Worn but not bad) Star Ocean: 2nd Story (Bought this New, never played it) Shadowrun for SNES (Never played. Game label worn off almost completely. I need to test this cart to make sure it works) Silpheed for Sega CD (Should be good condition, never got to play it. Box and instructions) Dragon Warrior III/IV (Just the carts) Tobal No. 2 (NTSC-J version. Disc and box everything are good) Persona 1 (2 copies. Need to check condition. Not looking to part cheaply) Breath of Fire IV for PS (Should be in good condition. Box and instructions) I'm also weighing whether or not I want to sell original carts for the Mega Man and Mega Man X games, Earthbound and some other stuff.

Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness - History
Meteo Xavier replied to Usa's topic in Projects
I want to add my WIP for POSITIVE. Radiate Me - A Brief Dream of Victory. I realize the intent of this album is to expand on the original source and keep it close to Kikuta's vision. Well, there's only so much source in this song that can be done in a triumphant stab that Kikuta himself did not already do, and it wasn't working out until I tried it in a very ambient, dreamlike and then later acoustic drum and string heavy fashion before making it dreamlike again. This was inspired by a Tangerine Dream song I have and by other works from Kikuta himself - particularly "Close Your Eyelids", "Farewell song", "Vivid" and bits of Secret of Mana+. He loved to play with song structure, so I do that here and keep it sounding like Seiken Densetsu - F major with ambience and a Vibe lead. I wanted to make it seem like a dream, with the ambient part symbolizing sleep, the dream of victory (leading up to the acoustic bits), the sudden wake up (2:00) and then falling back to sleep (outro). I hope this is acceptable. Thank you. -
Would if I could hear it. Try uploading it to zshare and see its playable from there.

Nebula EP - Free Download!
Meteo Xavier replied to eviljoker7075's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Well, you didn't ask for anything, you're just offering the album for download. Typical listeners don't have much incentive to leave a message, unless its blatant ass-kissing, which really isn't preferable for these boards. I'm pretty sure you have some satisfied listeners though. -
Oh wow. Not my type of music, but this is a definite keeper for your portfolio. You should've found this earlier and put it in your album. Much, much better.

Yet Another One - "The Two Sons"
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Original Music!
No, I haven't translated the additional drum pieces into the other WIP yet, thats why you're hearing the same beat over and over, and well as missing bass. -
Microphones for Musical Theater
Meteo Xavier replied to The Pezman's topic in Music Composition & Production
Man, if we were further in my recording class I could probably tell you what to do. There's a LOT to microphones and their placements so that they're not bleeding into one another and get the right sound. A good question is what kind of mics are they (I can't load them for some reason). Condensers? Dynamics? They have shapes of sound pickup and certain microphones handle certain frequencies better. I'm sorry I can't be more help, but I didn't want your question to at least go unheard. It IS more than just trial-and-error, but there is a little bit of it in practice, and only a little if you know what you're doing. I wonder if this correct: Look up MIX Magazine online and look for articles on Microphone terminology or something. They have some articles that could at least get you guys going in a direction. -
As I continue to post more WIP tracks from an upcoming album, I began to work on the ending theme. To balance the contrast theme of the album - orchestral and electronic, I decided to make this one electronic. I'm going with an ambient, club-happy, epic kinda sound and we'll see how it turns out. As before, I wrote a blueprint first and am working to translate it over to the new version. Blueprint: http://www.savefile.com/files/1839724 Version I'm working on: http://www.savefile.com/files/1839727

Tiny Grains Sweep The Southern Skies
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Original Music!
http://www.savefile.com/files/1812034 Latest version. I found something of an ending and fixed some things. This song is never going to be just great (not until after my mixing and mastering partner gets done with it anyway), but I think I have it pretty much finished. Yeah, its not the best ending in the world, but I'm running out of CD space and sacrifices must be made. -
Ok, here are my notes: start at :36 I felt like there should have been a song change at about 1:20 Enjoyed the rhythm shift at 1:54 and subsequent break at around 2:00. need some better synths and leads, try minimogue. Meaning: - You could pretty much just start this song at 0:36. Everything before that is kind of unnecessary. - By 1:20, I felt like there should have been a noticable change. The song, for what it is, is pretty long and repetitive without any major shifts. - I liked the shift at 1:54 and the following break sometime after 2:00 - The surrounding instruments were ok, but those leads were terrible. Try something like minimogue VST. Its free, low CPU, and makes some decent sounds.
-
Mmmmm...... song's rather pointless, but decent. Turn down that harsh bass and let the higher end sounds take more of the stage.

Snake Road - Smiling Unto Sacred Death
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Well the drum beat is just a placeholder, and I am trying to keep it an electronic, trance like beat. I want to add a bunch of other acoustic and ethnic percussion on top of it. -
Tiny Grains Sweep The Southern Skies
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Trying to get a decent acoustic guitar strum is extremely difficult, unless there's just a trick I don't know about. This is the best I can pull off at the moment. Between the two channels? Like, put a stereo seperator on it or something? I think that would overbleed the other frequencies. I spent the sum of like 20 hours trying to get all the sounds to balance even to this point and I'm running out of time. I did try some of that, but the end result of experimenting with all that is what you hear from it now. I don't even know if I can fit more production into it at this point. Its not really meant to sound realistic, just a believable ambient, celtic, overworldish kinda theme. I can only pull off so much right now. Like I said, I spent an ungodly amount of time on it already, but if you have some specific ideas, go ahead. Well its not done yet.... Despite my counters, I quite agree with you, I just don't think there's anything more I can do with it on a major scale that wouldn't mean having to start from scratch or scrapping it altogether (neither of which is an option). Now, if you could tell me specifically would needs to be moved or taken down some, I'll try it and see if it works. You gave me a few suggestions that I'll try already. Much thanks for taking the time to help me guys! -
Has anyone ever beaten Zombies Ate My Neighbors?

I've beaten it 70 times. I've been playing it for 15 years. -
Original Album In The Works! update
Meteo Xavier replied to WillRock's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Sounds a bit too filtered, and some of the hard deep bass notes are a little too hard, otherwise I'm pleasantly surprised. Am I an ass to ask for sheet music or a MIDI? -
Some have probably seen this already, but for those who haven't, here goes. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/oct/01/advertising.television Basically, its John Lydon of the Sex Pistols in a mildly funny commercial about butter. One comment stuck out to me, which I felt I wanna address (ironically mostly a quotation itself). charlieR Oct 01 08, 1:01pm "Bill Hicks summed it up best: "Here's the deal, folks. You do a commercial -you're off the artistic roll call, forever. End of story. Okay? You're another whore at the captialist gang bang and if you do a commercial, there's a price on your head. Everything you say is suspect and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd falling into my drink." John, while I'm sure you don't care what I think, I now no longer care what you think." - 15 recommendations. .....Artistic roll call? What the fuck kinda pretentious item is that? Since I'm asking, what exactly is Bill Hicks' problem anyway and why is it being regurgitated and recommended? I thought the point of artistic integrity was being able to confidently do whatever you wanted to do, not to be used a measure of how much you'll suck the dick of the jaded underground. John Lydon made a career about doing what he wanted, why couldn't he do a mildly funny butter commercial if he wanted? I guess I'm questioning the hardcore or fanboy mentality as a whole. In recent months, especially as people bitch about how Nintendo is "abandoning their core audience", I've been exploring the mentality more and more. I find it a dangerous form of fandom. When you're "hardcore" like CharlieR up there, its no longer about respecting the image of something, its about the image you've built up about something. The image has provided you years and years and years of heartfelt entertainment and somehow they still owe you. Case in point; Nintendo again. Nintendo's finally back on top. After fighting an uphill battle against that cheeky Ken Kutaragi for over a decade, the clouds open up and Hallejulah, Nintendo's kicking ass all over the planet again. And how do we, Nintendo's loyalist of followers, thank God for this blessing? By bitching about the software. Yeah, there's a lot of shovelware. Is this new? Nintendo, for their last troubled decade+, still delivered how many awesome Marios and Zeldas and Metroids and Smash Brothers and will continue to do so for years to come. So, no, this isn't Nintendo or John Lydon losing credibility, this is simply justice at work. They were awesome for years, why not they should get rewarded for it? Real fans would be proud at their success and cheer them on, not rant into the paranoid delusion of their hero shitting in their face. I mean, damn..... its a butter commercial for God's sakes. . . . . . . Here's my commercial tagline: "Don't kiss the ass that feeds you"

Tiny Grains Sweep The Southern Skies
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Post Your Original Music!
KICK. ASS. Now thats what I'm talking about! Greatly appreciate the very thorough review - problem is I've already experimented with many of you suggestions already and they just flat out didn't work. I did want this to be sort of a cross between an ambient overworld theme (which is why it starts so quickly), and kinda move into a more Irish counter. I'd love to bring in a backing string except I've already filled up the sound spectrum and can't fit it in anywhere. The choral for the counter is a good suggestion and I'll definitely try it.
