  1. ----- - Update #1 Well, just started this today. As the title would hopefully imply, this'll be a darker idea to Lost Woods. Imagine yourself walking into these woods at night, strange creatures making strange noises in the distance. Dark Imps are messing with you, which keep you on your feet. Suddenly, they attack, but your party manages to fend them off. An eerie silence falls unto the woods as the sun begins to rise. //The idea was slightly changed and implemented into Update #1. Credit for the voice work goes to my friend, Dashe.// That's as much as I've gotten so far. I'm basically trying to write a story via music, but keep it as a remix as well. Thoughts? Comments? Lemme know!
  2. Hm...you're actually right. I didn't really notice that til just now. And come to think of it, the only part of the original track that's in there is the main part of it. You can't really tell, but the beginning stuff is just a different take on the chord progression. With that, I may just go ahead and incorporate the rest of the original. I don't think it'll hurt it any.
  3. - With Reverb - Without Reverb - Real-ish Version Something I just wrote one day. As is, I like what I have, but I'd like to make it progress some more. Is there anything any of you would like to hear out of this track? And don't complain that it's 8-bit. 8-bit is awesome...and even so, I'll be working on a real-ish version when I get this one completed.
  4. Ooo, I loved the Golden Sun games. I've got two WIPs right now. One of Jennah's Battle theme and one of the Garoh town place...with the werewolf people. As for making an album, I dunno how that'd turn out. I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
  5. Alright, I changed a few things. Unfortunately, I couldn't do a lot with the drums. I'm not much of a drummer, so I stick with simplistic stuff. Anyways, lemme know what ya think of the update, which is in the first post. Oh yeah, no one commented on that little transition at 2:23-2:25. Is that sufficient for that part? Or should I add a little more to it?
  6. Well actually, the fact that DJPretzel used Canon D along side Zelda's Lullaby is fine. Why? Cause it has Zelda's Lullaby in it, of course. On the other hand, Fugue was just..Fugue in MML. Makoto Tomozawa didn't change anything about the song. And since Fugue wasn't made for MML, it's not counted as a valid video game track, despite the fact it was used in the game. But hey, I'm just arguing technicalities. For all I know, DJPretzel and/or the Judges could very well accept it.
  7. The music must have been composed specifically for the game. Movie themes such as Star Wars or licensed songs from games like Gran Turismo do not qualify. -Submission Standards and Instructions So, unfortunately, I don't think you could successfully submit this to OCR. As far as the remix goes, it kinda sounds like you just took the MIDI and added your own instruments. Only difference is that you sped it up...and then switched up how it's played a little later on. There's not much else to say, honestly. There's no original material AND it's way too soft. I had to turn my speakers all the way just to even hear it barely. So with everything I've said, it breaks down to this. Turn up the volume, work more on originality and pick a song that's made specifically for that game. Bach is amazing, but he didn't make that track for MML.
  8. Alright...so I need more variety with the drums, synths turned down a bit and spice up the repetition in the first 1:45. I can do that. I'm glad you both like the keys, I'm very fond of them myself. xP
  9. - Update I'm not sure if I posted this before or not, but oh well. Something I made a long time ago, though I just recently went back and re-vamped some of the sounds for better quality. Also changed a couple things, but nothing drastic. If you've never played Tomba, or have and don't remember much of the music, I suggest checking out the original track. You can find a MIDI of it on vgmusic.com as "The Flower Forest" or just simply "Flower Forest." I'm basically done with this remix and would like to submit it. Do you think it's OCR material? Or does it need some work?
  10. Nobody has anything to comment on with this? ._.
  11. Yeah, seriously. If things are finally gettin' back on their feet, I totally want a piece of this action. Might I suggest some BFM boss music? Personally, I'll be wanting to do a remix for BFM and this just seems like the perfect excuse. I mean...c'mon, that game pretty much has the BEST boss music I've ever heard from a game. **BFM - Brave Fencer Musashi(den)*** If any of you need source music for that game, shoot me a PM or an IM on AIM. I've got the OST.
  12. Well, this was made for a friends Zelda fan-game. I know it's not very "Zelda-like," but he likes it anyways. Everything about the track is fine for me...up til the ending section. It makes it sound too much like it's ending and the fight will last longer than 2:35. So, any ideas or suggestions on drawing out the track? I've gone with the idea of no section repeating itself. Is this a good thing, or should I nix the idea? Sorry about the audio quality, I'm crap when it comes to that sort of thing.
  13. Uh... Everything needs work. Lots of it. What's your experience with composing?
  14. Well, I actually like this. I'm takin' a stab in the dark, but it sounds like your influence with this came from Eiffel 65. Which is awesome, I always liked their stuff. Not really sure what to say about how you can fix it up. You seem to be doing a decent job by your self. I will say that you make me jealous. xD Keep up the good work.
  15. Well, I took what you said into consideration. I didn't change much, but I did add a variated section, though it still sticks to the main melody. Of course, this was just a quick jot-and-dab sort of thing. I'll probably do a little more with it before too long.
  16. Well, I think that whatever is done with the stage, the track should fit nicely anyways. Well you be doing more for the game? Or just the one track?
  17. Alright, sounds good. Could you explain what the level would be like? Or do you not know that much about it?
  18. You've succeeded. Though, I'm not sure what context this track is suppose to be in. Did you write it with any idea as to what it was going to? Or did you just write it?
  19. MMLS = Mega Man Legends Station It's a site and forum about the MML series 'n what not. Basically, the game being made is about the forums. I've read some of the story so far and it seems decent enough. But yeah, the track does end with a long fade-out. I mean, it's meant for looping 'n what not. Where is this track o' yours, I'd definitely like to listen to it.
  20. I will definitely do that, thanks. Didn't really occur to me before for some reason.
  21. Well, it IS one of the most complicated Mega Man tracks I've encountered. Not only is there a complicated melody, but I also have to worry about the time signature. I'll see if I can't make it longer by the end of the week and have some original material worked in as well.
  22. Well, I like this track. But I'm not sure if I'm done with it or not. Sure, it's a nice little tune...but I kinda want more from it. I'm just not sure what to add to help the track progress. This was made for a game a friend of mine is making. It's meant to be a town theme. -------------Update--------------------------------- A newer version with a slight variation.
  23. It's nothing special at the moment. I'm just putting it up to see if I should change the instrumentation or keep it as it is. A friend challenged me to remix this track since there doesn't seem to be any remixes of it on the interwebz.
  24. Well, there's always the possibility. Never know when I'll have a spark of creativity to add more to it.
  25. Well, there isn't a Clarinet. Just Flute, Oboe, Bassoon and Contra Bassoon (for added bass). And I'll re-work it so I can nix out those clipping issues. And that's another thing, not much else I can do with this composition. Probably because I just used the lead part from the original and added my own arrangement for everything else.
