  1. Got a little surprised when pretzeldude immediatly took up about this mix´s guitars. Guitars? Couldn´t imagine playing Tifa´s theme with an electric guitar, but now I do. The beginning was just like...eh, no sweet, BORING! But then it continued to something more interesting, piano, then some guitar, stayed that way a while, and then it rocked on the end with some cool and awesome el. guitar. Dayspring made balance to the greatness to this song, super if I may call it. I´m agreeing with CykoticZZ, I´m gonna applaud to this one. clapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclap clapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclap There.
  2. The prescense of alot of different, annoying, MIDInoises made it quite painful, so I can concur with people about that at least. For this song, WOW. Feels like I´m dancing around in a beehive with small fairies and flowers around me, and THAT IS real sweet. Beautiful flutes, strings, harps and other mellow and cushy stuff. The trumpets may have given this mix some sort of MIDI sound, but I feel that almost every trumpets sounds like that, so it´s the MIDIs that sounds real, not the real that sounds MIDI. Buck, you better go back to that beach house, cause I want more of these coming. Very beautiful.
  3. I have been posting on this site for like 3 months, but I can still introduce myself. Hi, I´m Bummerdude, I live in Sweden, studying natural science in senior high school, and overall trying to be funny. I play some piano on my freetime, maybe on my several occasions I´ll learn something new, but that never happen. I like to draw stuff when I´m bored, can vary from flowers to bunnies, aliens and sandwiches. And of course, I´m a big fan of OCRemix, otherwise I wouldn´t be here. I try to listen to most of the genres and styles, everything goes in music, and my favorite games are Final Fantasy, Zelda, Rayman, and other games that are just funny to play. And for all the newbies, WELCOME. Post #600
  4. This is earcandy for me, this track got now a much more tougher appeal, much variation among the instruments, arrangement=awesome! carbunk1e, you sure did it this time. Got a little surprised when the mix went over for some techno when the synth waltzed in at the end and then got paired up with the piano, and I love piano, thanks fer that.
  5. Which one of them is the best? The first one, or updated? old, or new? Good or evil, cat or dog, light or darkness, Burger King or McDonalds,... That can continue a while. This remix should just be downloaded only cause the great usage of trance-instruments. This one is pure. Has very good beats, nice choices of synths and rhytm, tempo and style that gonna blow your speakers. FFMDJ, you done it before, and now you did it again. Congratulations, for you cause you made an awesome remix, and for me that now has something new to chill out to. Great stuff dude!
  6. I don´t think this remix is "dark", the guitars are heavy, but they aren´t dark. Sounds like I´m listening to the radio and there are something in the way of the waves that gives the music that scratchy sound. This is what this mix makes me think of, but the guitars in the back that gives this effect. I recognized the melody, the electric basses(or guitars, whtever) played it, and I thinked that this was real OK. They remixed this track after their ideas, and they succeded to do something new. Interesting. Cool guitarsolo near the end.
  7. Can all these dudes be wrong? If you haven´t seen this movie, and have played the most of the FF-games, then you will totally laugh to it. Made by Legendaryfrog, and is viewable by all ages. And for the remix: AWESOME lyrics! They rimes, has meaning, and is funny. Three pigs with one stone, Nice work.
  8. I´m currently playing Zelda:Oracle of Ages, and many bosses are just UUNNNNGAH!, but I have beated them in next, third or first time. I made one this morning, was nearly beaten before I knew how to do. It was the one in the....I don´t know what it´s called, but the fifth temple.
  9. Chocobo Squaresoft 1988 A chocobo is a large flightless bird, strong enough to carry a fully grown human, making this bird a perfect way to travel. They prefer living in forests but can also be found a little bit of everywhere. It´s very timid in the wild and can be vicious if it´s threatened, but can actually be very easily tamed. Greens are one of their favorite food, that´s why you can in some games call on them by using greens. The chocobo´s first appearance was in Final Fantasy 2, where you could find it hiding in a forest and then use it to travel on the world map without bumping into enemies. For each Final Fantasy game that was made, the chocobo got a bigger and bigger role. In some games you could either train or breed it to get chocobos with other abililties, from climbing over mountains and swimming over the seas to flying high in the sky. From starting as a minor character, the chocobo has quickly changed to be one of the most favored in the FF-series. The chocobo has appeared in following games: NES Final Fantasy 2 -1988 Final Fantasy 3 -1990 SNES Final Fantasy 4 -1991 Final Fantasy 5 -1992 Final Fantasy 6 -1994 Secret of Evermore -1995 Playstation Chocobo Racing -1999 Chocobo Stallion -1999 Chocobo´s Dungeon 2 -1999 Dice de Chocobo -1999 Final Fantasy 7 -1997 Final Fantasy 8 -1999 Final Fantasy 9 -2000 Playstation 2 Final Fantasy 10 -2001 Final Fantasy 10-2 -2003 Final Fantasy 12 - 2005 PC Final Fantasy 11 -2003 Gameboy Final Fantasy Adventure -1991 Gameboy Advance Chocobo Land : A Game of Dice -2003 Final Fantasy Tactics -2003 Pocketstation Chocobo´s Mysterious Dungeon Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocobo http://www.thecowscorner.com/~kamui/choco/main.html ------------------------- It may need some more faqs to it, I´ll see what more I can find, but this is what I made so far. Feel free to comment any improvements.
  10. The mako reactor Only the name of that thing deserves a theme with the feel of that life-absorbing industry. mp, dude, how did you not succed with that one? It got that dark mood through it, and I really think this is industrial, some has said the opposite, but I don´t agree. It may take more than just machine noises in da back, but the synth, the clock, the heavy drums and that short appearance of the careful piano somewhere in the middle gives this remix a sneaky, mysterious and unsecure look, I like it, BYE! Gone downloading...
  11. Who doesn´t, the original is a beautiful master piece. But that´s not the point. I got very excited when I heard it start, an acoustic remix! Good, very good, can´t get enuff about them, can we? I got a little disappointed when the electric guitar abruptly came into the scene, but after a while, I liked it, I really did. The drums are awesome, just as pretzeldude said, so crdit for him for pointin that out. And the choir that began in the back at 2:09, making this mix beautiful too, just like the original. Great mix, great arrangement, and a great desicion from MENBAH! for making this special version of our beloved Aeris. Kudos dude.
  12. Very smooth and groovy remix, had some real good beats to it, found myself many times nodding my foot along the rhytm, good stuff. I don´t quite remember the ending credits, but I recognized the Title screen music, had a...what you call it mellow atmosphere to it. Maybe not as much skills as the other remixes, but this one clearly succeded to create a calm mood to it, the banjo at the end helped in some point with that, interesting choice of instrument. By the way, this is off-topic, but do you happen to be swedish?
  13. By now, i doubt. It's been mentioned before quite a few times, if i remember well. And probably in the "All Time Easiest Boss" thread too. actually i was just about to get there, you see, i've never played FFX before. so yeah...you ruined it. thx. j/k it's not ruined, but yeah im almost done beating it for the first time, thx for the tip. Man, even if it did spoil it for you, you should beat it anyways. I thought that was the best FF game out there. FF X-2 on the other hand sucks. I got 7 hours into it and was embarresed by how bad it was. Don´t remind me of their exciting dance in Kilika, brrrr.
  14. I did also has some trouble with him, but that was before I knew how to get attack reels. But the most disappointing thing with the final boss of FFX is that it SO MUCH EASIER than Jecht. You have autolife on you the whole time, it´s impossible to lose. Wait a minute, was that a spoiler?
  15. Maybe I could do a easy one, like the chocobo. I have a one-week holiday coming up, maybe I could fit this in.
  16. Bummerdude - very much a pain in the arse. You'd understand why if you knew who that final boss was. And you really should try the X series of MegaMan games - after 3, the NES ones were all pretty much the same over and over. That would be quite possible, the console for the X-series is Playstation right? I have a PS2, so that would work out.
  17. Very beautiful piece, I have never played this game, but now I really get the urge to buy on and do just that. Can´t really say which are OOA and which are OOT, but I believe it´s around 0:30 I think, that´s a beauty spot right there. Anyhow, I love pianoremixes, so I can´t help it that I´m giving this remix the highest grade possible, but when I listen to the excellent pianoplay, both sad and hopeful, I just think it deserves it real good. I hope Dhsu and GL cooperates more in the time, that maybe has a small chance of happening maybe, but if the results are this good, then PLEASE do a follow-up! Post #500
  18. And you never will... I still cannot think of how FFMDJ managed to make such a bright voice in the beginning, but hey, the remix is all good. This is a full-speed techno/trance/disco madness remix, and I found it very great. He used some popular synths that some of us recognize from other trance hits, but that doesn´t mean you can still use them. May be a little repetive, but it was first at the third time I noticed that. Nice stuff FFMDJ, Cid deserved to let some out. GUESS WHAT? I JUST GAVE YOU A REVIEW!
  19. To compare this remix with the original is like compare a slum with a swamp. Maybe a bad simile, but this wasn't THAT different from the org. I like the swampy synth, really gave out that swamp feel alright, but this remix was more focused on the beats, drums and all the other funny sounds in the back, like the frog for instance, haha. But the melody was almost fogotten, it was played with strings, but the melody is good, I think it deserves a better instrument. Maybe not my thing to say, but still. And last of all, the synth in the end. Let's just say that I have to go and replace my eardrums. Summary: Nice beats and such, synth good with the name, last synth a little more of chaotic for my taste.
  20. Forgot to look at the remixer name when I downloaded this, so when I read pretzeldude´s review, then Russel shows up, and I jumpes of surprise. Cox has always been good at orchestrics, this is no exception, this piece is great. Strings that indicates fear and sorrow, and a horn that gives this remix some more power to it, and the HARP, that is just DUDE. It´s calm, comforting, and most of all beautiful. RC has really catched the mood of this song and made into a mix for everybody to see, thanks fer that Russeldude, thank you.
  21. I have only played the first 6 games of Megaman, so I can´t really fully understand your pain in the ass, but of the look of your description, he really does sound like a pain in the ass, so I say congratulations for giving him a pain in the ass.
  22. This is a very different remix, and maybe just because Vincent WAS different, I mean he lied in a box in a basement and preferred it to be that way. liked the guitar in the beginning, very sad and thoughtful, also Vincent in a nutshell. The groanings or voices maybe ruined it some, but this a descent weird remix that deserves your attention.
  23. Good points: I liked that guitar very much, in the original it was just some harp or strings playing it one note at a time, but you threw in a guitar and some beats in the back to reconnect it. Chill suff. Bad points: Wasn´t a big fan of that electric guitar, sounded wrong in comparison to the remix.
  24. This is a real good piano remix, it sure is, but I want to know what piano it is, it sounds so beautiful. Has a very bright tone to it, sounds like a classical piano like something Mozart or Beet would play on. But enough about the piano, the guitar that follows is great too, totally fits in with the mood, and all of he strings sticks to the whole remix like a cape. As I said, beauuuuutiful arrangement, Devdude.
  25. AWESOME technoremix. This is just the thing I want, alots of beats drumming in the back with a load of strings and some very cool synths to give the melody some cool attitude. You can´t stop nodding your head to this one. Nice idea of adding windeffects to the mix, gives it a slight touch of reality. Amazing stuff from Siamey, and I concur with the others: MAKE AN ANOTHER REMIX! PLEASE!
