  1. There is some very nice writing in this, and it's supported nicely by some fun percussion. I feel like the oboe sound is a little thin on its own, but when it's supported it sounds much better. Very pretty, energetic, and a nice listen. Check this one out.
  2. Cool take on the original. I could certainly imagine this being used as a backing to some hip hop. I'd probably laugh if I heard it, but still. The change of structure of the B section was really nicely done, I think that's my favorite section overall. Pretty fun, check it out.
  3. This song has held up well over the years. Samples are still pretty decent, and overall it's a nice listen. The new material at 1:43 is my favorite section, it really keeps with the mood of the mix while adding something fresh and different. Check this one out.
  4. What bothers me about this mix is that there is so much that could have been done, but isn't. The song didn't have to be repetitive if things like what goes on at 1:35 happened sooner. Not for me.
  5. There is really a game called "Fury of the Furries"? I am floored by this. That aside, this mix is all kinds of awesome. Great melody, cool effects. Nice bassline, cool distortion. Lots of good things going on. I think the sound effects are a bit annoying, but I'm willing to put that aside for the fun of this mix. Fun stuff. PS: Lolfurries
  6. There are quite a few interesting textures in this mix, and the overall melody is pretty cool. I'm not too crazy about the 'vocals' throughout the mix. They're more of a distraction than anything. The string attacks seem slow, so it takes some time between the beat and when their sound comes in. The textures and sounds used throughout, along with a fun bassline really help bring this back on track. Worth a listen in my opinion, but up to you whether or not it's one to keep.
  7. Some nice orchestral work here. I don't know the source, but as a standalone I could see this in a movie any day. A lot of tension in this one, which is really brought out by the low strings and oboe riff used throughout. Nice work, check this one out.
  8. The overall chip-feel of the song is pretty cool, because it's kicking throughout, and the SID really supports the other instruments. Repeating everyone above, the melody really brings things up a notch and keeps things fresh. Nice work.
  9. This isn't a mix that I can sit and actively listen to for very long. That isn't saying it's bad, it's just a mix more suited to being background music than something in the forefront. I like the reverse snare that's used somewhat frequently, and the sounds overall are pleasant. The instruments change up leads throughout the mix, but the percussion and piano feel mostly the same from beginning to end, which adds a repetitiveness that's hard to shake. I would have liked more changes in those areas especially. Not something I'd break out when I'm in a 'Let's listen to music for music's sake', but a good piece to have on when you're doing whatever.
  10. I would have never realized that the accordion was played live by AmIEvil. That's pretty cool, and adds a bit to this mix. This one is pretty chill, not much going on, but it has a different feel to the original, and creates it's own mood. Certainly worth a listen, if but to hear one of the few accordion mixes on the site.
  11. Too many people are using the word saccharine here, but that's because it is an appropriate word to use. This mix uses plenty of good effects along with some nice synths and great percussion to make a pretty sweet mix. It doesn't have the greatest harmonic lead, and I feel like the bell synth loses some clarity in the mix, but it's a fun mix that is an enjoyable listen.
  12. One of the CotMM songs that I can really get into, and I've had this one for a while. I love the bass opening, I thought it was a cool intro. It does take a bit for the melody to come in, almost halfway through the song, to be exact, but when it does, it fits in well with the soundscape. The B section at 2:46 is cut short, it feels, and I would have liked more development of that area, bu alas it ends. Still liking the bass throughout.
  13. More personal taste, but I'm not really crazy for this one. The sounds are pretty lofi, and I'm not feeling much development of the track. The bass carrying the melody is pretty cool, but it really just keeps playing the same thing over and over, and doesn't do much in the way of variation. The percussion overall had some cool stuff going on as well, especially the hi hat, but with the quality of the sounds being low it isn't that interesting to listen to in my opinion. Not my thing.
  14. I could essentially quote OA. The mix is short, more like an hors d'ouvre than a main course meal of Megaman goodness. I especially wished that the mellow guitar section at the end had some Metalman theme in it, and expanded out from there. More please.
  15. Things feel pretty midi overall on this one. I'm not really a fan of the sounds used in this, and added to that is the very mechanical feel. It's a cute melody, but this just isn't doing it for me.
  16. Very chill sound, which is pretty reminiscent of the source. I like how the background really supports the melodies. You can tell a lot of time went into balancing this. Things overall feel a little mechanical, but given that this is >0100 I can be a little forgiving. I've always liked this one anyways. Nice work.
  17. The opening had me worried that the entire mix was going to be a slow ballad, but things pick up pretty quickly, and the groove is quite cool. I love the piano line throughout, despite how mechanical it feels. Couple of not so good things. The use of the siren at the end of the melodic line was a really cool idea, but then it starts going full force, and I found that basically not really cool. I wish Rayza had stuck with the creative use a bit more. The ending also is a bit anticlimactic, which is a bit disappointing. Check it out.
  18. I like the combination of the acoustic and electric guitar here. The acoustic covers the back end quite nicely while the electric takes the forefront of the melodies. There isn't much change to the main melodic line, which I would have liked, though it would be contrary to the "(back to the roots mix)" title. What's up with the opening, though? Pretty odd, in my opinion. Other than that, a nice listen.
  19. I like the arrangement overall, and I like the instruments used, but overall the entire mix feels very mechanical to me, to the point where it detracts from the listening experience. The dynamics remain pretty constant, and overall it feels a bit quiet. I would have liked some nice swells at various parts to liven things up. The balancing is a little off as well; the piano stays over everything else throughout the mix and feels like it's sitting on top of the arrangement rather than with it. The somber mood of the piece is very nice, and I like how this has a bit of a darker overtone. It has an almost medieval flair, which I'm also liking. Good arrangement, sounds need some work.
  20. Despite not knowing the source, I think anyone can get into this mix, and it's worth a listen. It has a lot of solid stuff going on to bring out the trance feel, and there aren't many flaws that pull the track down. I'm agreeing with most people that the crowd should have been towards the end to really give the track a lift before it finishes, but it isn't bad where it is now. Nice work, worth checking out.
  21. That hiss is very noticeable, and quite distracting, I have to say. The guitar sounds pretty decent, but compared to that hiss, and later the organ (especially at 1:38, yikes), I'd have to say this isn't working in my book. No, thank you.
  22. I love the orchestral section right in the beginning. The slow chords really focus on the sound, which I'm really liking. Then we start with the percussion and synths and I'm really feeling the synths used in this as well as the percussion. Things really work nicely together and keep the 'espionage' feel. Nice work.
  23. This has plenty of movement in it to keep me focused and enjoying what I'm listening to. While it remains a mostly atmospheric track, there is enough melody to keep things from getting dull or forgettable. I like the music box at the end, it adds a creepiness level +10. Nice work.
  24. Just a little clapping? After a few seconds that is honestly all that I can hear. I'm also not really liking the harmony line playing with the melody. It's strange that melody seems to be panned left and harmony is panned right. Any time the melody only is playing I'm finding myself leaning. It would have been nicer if things were centered a little bit more. I think the direction this mix wanted to go was not bad, but there are quite a few flaws on this to make it not the greatest listen. I can't say this one is going to be staying around on my desktop for long.
