  1. Wow! Nice work putting this together. The arrangement is very nice, the playing is good, the track overall is super enjoyable to listen to, and the sound is authentic to the style. Thanks for this track! --Eino
  2. Thanks Rozovian! I tried to address the loudness a bit. The snare effects chain is a bit too complex for its own good, I didn't want to start working on that, but did turn it down a little (and some other stuff too). final candidate 6 Tried to make the overall mix a little less noisy: turned snares, hihat & crash down just a little, EQ'd the saw lead - additionally, adjusted lead balance a little more so it's more even across the piece. Now to write the submission letter! Thanks once again to everyone for the feedback! Fun fact: the project file is smaller than the MP3. edit: submitted --Eino
  3. No. "Course" can be found as "Warming Up" on the chiptune download or on Youtube. Not sure if it's on the song list on the game page. --Eino
  4. I've been trying to win on normal. Got a Zoltan Cruiser really close, made a mistake in the very final fight, worrying about a mind-controlled crewmember instead of trying to disable enemy's weapons. I also got a badly built Engi ship to the endgame, but yeah, it was badly built. The expansion is great! --Eino
  5. Hi CyberSkull, thanks for all the MusicBrainz work! I noticed that the year for Shell Shocked is 2001.

  6. final candidate 5 - unbusied competing leads in the final few bars The melody kind of goes between the leads now. --Eino
  7. Oops, so early? Thanks for the heads-up, Chernabogue! --Eino
  8. Maybe referring to that that You and I has "Jillian Aversa ft. Malukah" as the artist but Generations has Malukah credit under vocals. I'm confused! --Eino
  9. Happy birthday, you monkey-monster! And thanks for all the help with the tunes! --Eino
  10. FTL: Advanced Edition & the iPad version are just around the corner, coming 3rd of April. The update is free. Looks good too. I'm ready to play this! --Eino
  11. Clicking on "Latest Feedback: Workshop ReMixes" links on the workshop page (http://ocremix.org/workshop) leads back to the workshop page itself. Firefox 26.0 on Xubuntu 13.03. --Eino
  12. Final candidate 4 (dl) - soundcloud tweaked the levels so that the main lead would stand out each part (a little seems to go a long way) tried to parallel compress the bass drum, maybe a bit more interesting now some other little details tried a bit of that crosspanning, but it's probably pretty inaudible boosted the limiter on the master channel by 1.5db (getting bad ideas at this stage?) Thanks again for the excellent comments Timaeus! --Eino
  13. Super easy to listen to, energetic, happy and bouncy. The piece's feelgood nature is augmented by having a good forwards drive to it, I think it does a lot to this piece that the tempo is as fast as it is. I remember this from the workshop and I'm happy to see it posted. I own a copy of Yoshi Touch & Go too! --Eino
  14. This is some of the awesomest music of 2013 and you all should check it out. Now. --Eino
  15. The production is pretty good in many regards actually, nice stereo separation for instance. The bass and percussion sound good - mechanical, but not in a detracting way. There's a lot of nice synth touches as well. I'm reminded of earlier Shnabubula tracks, I'm a huge fan of those. On the side of criticisms, I'd have liked a tiny bit of an intro. The main lead sound during the first half is pretty weak to me, it's limp and loose, I'm not much of a fan. There are also some strange harmonies on some of the synth washes that I'm not also completely sure sound 100% good. The e-piano solo is quite ace though. I also think I'll have to get me a M01 as well. --Eino
  16. Solid, pleasant offering of ambientsy material. Very nice work! --Eino
  17. I'd be interested in joining the upcoming talkback as well. edit: On second thoughts, I really need the sleep. Some other time! --Eino
  18. I was supposed to have the time yesterday, but no.. I've already translated a part of the lyric into Finnish, which I thought might be fun. (: I might have some opportunity for quick take tomorrow, so I might be one of those who could use the extension. --Eino
  19. Sweet stuff. For some reason I don't like the guitar tone at the beginning, but it sits well in the mix once more stuff comes in. --Eino
