  1. Man I love Hyadain. Yeah, I guess the arrangement isn't the most ground-breaking or interpretive thing on the site, but IMO that doesn't matter here because the song sounds good, and it doesn't sound like a midi-rip of the source which is good for me. : D I love pretty much all of Hyadain's work. He never fails to put a smile on my face Hopefully he will send more stuff to OCR! Maybe someone should remix one of his video game works for the site. That would be nice.
  2. So this guy is in the professional music industry, right? Like, writing scores for big movies and video games? Because he should be if not. This is good. edit: ok, I will say that maybe the production could have been upped in some cases, like I feel like some instruments could have had more of an impact in their sections. And maybe some better stereo separation throughout the song so that it just feels like a wider orchestra. But these small things are so small, some people might not agree, and this is a absolutely fantastic song regardless of those.
  3. That made me laugh. Thanks.

  4. Some of the Haunting Ground deaths. The game wasn't that good, to be honest. It just seemed like a lot of fanservice is what sold it (which is stupid because the heroine is useless and so unlikeable), but to me some of the death scenes were so scary, especially thanks to the sound design of the game. Just go to 1:35. That's the one that got me. The others aren't that bad. Also the idea of being chased by some giant man baby was absolutely horrifying. I could deal with the other people who chased you, but the big ogre guy was just frightening to the point I couldn't even play the game for a couple of days.
  5. This, too. I also make sure to use the bathroom before I sit down to play a game, every single time which is a thing. Just so the first few hours of the experience aren't interrupted in any way. I'll leave the title screen for the game on just as motivation, too.
  6. yeah i like this a lot. i'm really surprised that this is your first attempt at anything jazzy because it's super good in that context. it's super good without it. if you go for anything like this ever again, try a jazzier drum groove (just using each piece of the drum set to accompany the other instruments). i think it'd work out with your synths and sounds. good job!
  7. Hope you've had a happy birthday!

  8. Minecraft used to always scare me. That's the most recent one, probably. Silent Hill 2 when I played back in 5th grade. Man what a bad idea. (edit: does anybody remember that mannequin that turned on you once you got the flash light? That freaked me out so bad) Also, drowning in the Sonic the Hedgehog has the be the scariest freaking thing ever. Nope, that's completely understandable. Pirate lab is flippin' scary. I almost had a heart attack when I got attacked by a shadow pirate once. I think it's the fact that the pirate battle theme has a long intro that isn't as intense as it is unnerving, so you don't except to run into an enemy at all, but then BAM you get sliced by a pirate.
  9. This song had me thinking it was going in a different direction until the singing finally came in. This is great, the piano performances here are magnificent, and the japanese singing didn't sound awkward at all. The lyrics are so beautiful, and fit the melody very well. To be honest I can't even remember the source, but what you did here works so well. Easily a classic CT remix. Can't say much about this - it's just awesome.
  10. This is a very inspiring mix. It's haunting in a sense, yet still has a beauty to it that's just hard to make in any type of mix. Amazing playing here, I'm so happy to have had a chance to listen to this. It'll go down as one of my top piano mixes on this site
  11. Aww darn, I was actually going to try fan art but I'm now realizing ya'll are only using official art (hard to tell when I haven't played half these games ) I changed my vote.
  12. I want this one on OCR, so haven't forgotten about it. Putting an update to kind of keep me accountable for this in a sense. It's just been a suuuuper crazy last month at school. My brains practically fried to the point that I'm losing all creativity D: It's a small update. Going to lead into the bridge after it stops, and also I went crazy with sound effects. I think I might need to go crazier. Enjoy Rin's bell, too. https://www.box.com/s/qnk40kn5oqktbkj1n5p0
  13. didn't even think about that, thanks. i'll find something better soon.
  14. Man I really like this song but that vocal recording is just killin' me. I guess it won't be a bother on iPod headphones, but on a nice set it's hard not to notice. Maybe the vocals could be a bit more reverby too, but more than anything it needs a better recording. Regardless.. this arrangement rocks and brings a creative approach to the source. A very memorable song on OCR and worth downloading. Nice job.
  15. 1.) Amaterasu (Okami) 2.) Marth (Fire Emblem) 3.) Saren (Mass Effect)
  16. Come on who doesn't wanna hear xprtbaby crying in the background of some epic whistle solo. Just sayin. It'd be perfect for a yoshis island mix
  17. I always listen to my yume Nikki mix when I wanna get away.. Its actually my only song I listen but disregarding that shameless plug piano music is great. Ambient songs in general, try dreaming on distant shores by rellik. That's a great one. Seriously. And if you like rap listen to memories frozen in time. That's a really good one. Id link but typing from a phone atm. Hope things go well man.
  18. Im ok with this. Besides a lot of unnecessary fanservice, compile heart makes pretty good games. Record of awarest war was great except for the stupid difficulty. And the fanservice could be completely ignored too so that's a plus. Can't wait for this. Here's hoping I don't have to import this sucker! Or at least ill import the soundtrack because that's probably the coolest thing about this so far.
  19. I'm very surprised that this doesn't have more comments. This is one of the more neat tracks on OCReMix and deserving of some attention. It's very uplifting and is good to listen to on a bad day. Nice job! I hope we get to hear more from Justin at some point! edit: i'm also gonna echo that the vocal clip is creepy. but that's right up my alley in music so no complaints
  20. Can't say much that hasn't already been said. This is one of halc's most fun remixes on the site, and it's certainly cute. Kind of J-poppy at times, but it doesn't overdo it either. I really dig the drum programming here, too. Usually panned snares bother me like crazy, but you somehow keep things filled out and it just sounds cool to be honest. nice job
  21. I'm for certain that the funniest enemy in any video game ever is that yellow guy from Mother 3. He's already been mentioned but here's the video for those who haven't played it.
  22. This is very good. It's like a nostalgic ride through the Moon Cave kind of feeling. I loved how you kind of just let the music go even when there isn't much going on. Where you just kind of play around with the song, it makes it feel more like a journey. Great job on that. I'm really digging the sounds here. The drums especially sound fat which I like. And the samples are more than passable. Not the most realistic things ever, but it's still hard to tell whether or not they're the real thing sometimes, so that's good. Recommended. This one is fun to listen to
  23. Have a happy birthday McVaffe! Please continue being awesome and making awesome music! :)
