  1. Ok, I'm really liking this now. Once you get some to get that piano done, please get that posted here : D. Also, at :56 I think the transition may be a little too sudden. Also, that drum section could use a bit of dynamic variation in general. Maybe. Yeah, keep working at this. It's getting a lot better.
  2. I just wanna say I'm really enjoying this. The guitars and drums are absolutely KILLER. You've improved a lot since the first sub I heard from you. Great job both of you. Please get this on OCR soon. If I had a crit it would be that this could be more sourcy. I know the source very well and I can hear the song but I only wish the source was more upfront. Maybe it's just a key change that's throwing me off. Great arrangement, though. Good job.
  3. So after my labtop decided to crap out I haven't been able to touch FL Studio at all. Since I'm at my parents for the weekend, though, I'd figure I'd try something new on their computer until I could get back to all the other unfinished stuff that's on that crappy acer labtop. So yah, I have until Monday night to finish this. Let's hope it gets done. Or it'll have to wait until thanksgiving break. it's all fl studio defaults with sytrus if you're wondering. song: remix: https://www.box.com/s/l59t3o8dyi2pzidtatak posting now only so i can apply any crits i get between now and monday. with love and care -urdailywater
  4. I love mah country. Happy birthday murrica.
  5. I watch a lot of video game related stuff on youtube. Podcast are super fun to listen. Probably my favorite thing about the games themselves is the music just because I listen to music more than I watch tv, play games, etc. Im using japanese games to learn the language most recently. Its pretty darn helpful if youre willing to learn kanji along with it. And also fun. Maybe that counts.
  6. Happy birthday halc whose name this phone keeps autocorrecting to half
  7. Hey y'all I was asking about my lost in time resubmit a while back. I think I sent it too close to another sub but maybe it just didn't come through? Should I resend it or wait a little more? just wanting to make sure its ok since its a collab this time.
  8. Cool debut. This one is pretty tounge and cheek and I like it for that. Hard not to smile when you hear the game effects come in but I did think maybe the forest of illusion soundclip was a little too cheesy. For some reason I thought this would end up being something based off the Forrest Gump soundtrack but this doesn't disappoint
  9. Maybe star fox adventures. I couldn't really get into the game but I didn't like the fact that it wasn't really a star fox game and Krystal was annoying. I don't own. Many games I consider plain out bad... maybe ff13 but I don't feel like I've played enough ff games to be able to judge it on that level. The voice acting is stupid though.
  10. Congratulations oon the album release y'all. Ill be checking this out tomorrow hopefully. Those demos were pretty flipping sweet
  11. Thank you very much :)

  12. Pretty much with all my drums, I make a pattern in FL Studio (usually 8 - 16 beats), copy, paste, and make each pattern unique as I see fit. No reason to separate or mix and match unless it's a layered sound on top of the drum set (like an extra hat or snare or something), just so I can keep patterns from looking too complicated. I'd love to get a drumset to just play a midi drums all the way through. That'd be fun and much easier. I don't see any problem for what you said Dan unless you're going for a straight up live sound. It's pretty common in studio mixes to layer drums, though, especially if you don't intend to play it for audiences. However if you're doing something that would require a 7 handed drummer, that IS pretty insane. Lol.
  13. Thank you very much for that :)

  14. Thank you very much :)

  15. Well, if you're just wanting to write midi's, then I think Anvil Studio works fine. I used it to write small tracks out of boredom in high school computer classes and it was fun. Try to make this into a full song and see if you can get a cool arrangement going here. Maybe if you integrate these well and make a cool arrangement, someone could actually produce the song. It sounds like you're just playing the two songs back to back right now though, and IMO it doesn't really make sense as a whole song. See what you can do. (did it really take a month to write that though? That's a long time for such a short piece)
  16. That's a huuuuuge signature

  17. Man I love Hyadain. Yeah, I guess the arrangement isn't the most ground-breaking or interpretive thing on the site, but IMO that doesn't matter here because the song sounds good, and it doesn't sound like a midi-rip of the source which is good for me. : D I love pretty much all of Hyadain's work. He never fails to put a smile on my face Hopefully he will send more stuff to OCR! Maybe someone should remix one of his video game works for the site. That would be nice.
  18. So this guy is in the professional music industry, right? Like, writing scores for big movies and video games? Because he should be if not. This is good. edit: ok, I will say that maybe the production could have been upped in some cases, like I feel like some instruments could have had more of an impact in their sections. And maybe some better stereo separation throughout the song so that it just feels like a wider orchestra. But these small things are so small, some people might not agree, and this is a absolutely fantastic song regardless of those.
  19. That made me laugh. Thanks.

  20. Some of the Haunting Ground deaths. The game wasn't that good, to be honest. It just seemed like a lot of fanservice is what sold it (which is stupid because the heroine is useless and so unlikeable), but to me some of the death scenes were so scary, especially thanks to the sound design of the game. Just go to 1:35. That's the one that got me. The others aren't that bad. Also the idea of being chased by some giant man baby was absolutely horrifying. I could deal with the other people who chased you, but the big ogre guy was just frightening to the point I couldn't even play the game for a couple of days.
  21. This, too. I also make sure to use the bathroom before I sit down to play a game, every single time which is a thing. Just so the first few hours of the experience aren't interrupted in any way. I'll leave the title screen for the game on just as motivation, too.
  22. yeah i like this a lot. i'm really surprised that this is your first attempt at anything jazzy because it's super good in that context. it's super good without it. if you go for anything like this ever again, try a jazzier drum groove (just using each piece of the drum set to accompany the other instruments). i think it'd work out with your synths and sounds. good job!
  23. Hope you've had a happy birthday!

  24. Minecraft used to always scare me. That's the most recent one, probably. Silent Hill 2 when I played back in 5th grade. Man what a bad idea. (edit: does anybody remember that mannequin that turned on you once you got the flash light? That freaked me out so bad) Also, drowning in the Sonic the Hedgehog has the be the scariest freaking thing ever. Nope, that's completely understandable. Pirate lab is flippin' scary. I almost had a heart attack when I got attacked by a shadow pirate once. I think it's the fact that the pirate battle theme has a long intro that isn't as intense as it is unnerving, so you don't except to run into an enemy at all, but then BAM you get sliced by a pirate.
  25. This song had me thinking it was going in a different direction until the singing finally came in. This is great, the piano performances here are magnificent, and the japanese singing didn't sound awkward at all. The lyrics are so beautiful, and fit the melody very well. To be honest I can't even remember the source, but what you did here works so well. Easily a classic CT remix. Can't say much about this - it's just awesome.
