"(2007/12/07) Super Mario 64 'Through the Flames'" That makes me sad. What FF games are still missing an album? FF6, 9 are in the works and the TBP queue shows a FFX one. No love for FFVIII?

I like the arrangement, and the second version has much better sounding rhytm guitars. Some comments/suggestions: - Is there a bass on this? It is either too low or non-existant which is bad because a solid bassline really helps a rock/metal song. - The hi-hat sound is a bit too messy IMO. I find it quite distracting, try to make it a bit shorter. Bass drum sound is a bit too quiet and short too.

I barely know the source material, but the video sounded awesome. There is one theme that appears in FF9 (Mount Gulug or something?) that is so amazing.

Flat Notes: A Paper Mario ReMix Album - 7 TRACKS AVAILABLE!
jnWake replied to RECKENEFIN's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
As long as deadlines aren't too near, I could tackle Crystal Palace Crawl. If you want I can send you a WIP in a couple weeks. -
finished Banjo-Kazooie - Treasure Trove Cove Orchestra
jnWake replied to dummy's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I liked this! Your use of orchestation is pretty cool. My only "criticism" is that the song is a bit too cover-ish, which isn't bad by any means unless you want to submit it to the site. -
Uh, I think I'll wait until more lyrics progress is made to see which track I can tackle (after all, I guess the composer has to write the vocal parts too, right?). However, some of my faves are the Middle Boss theme, Stone Tower Temple and the Final Hours theme. But I like almost the entire soundtrack so I'll just wait until the project is a bit more advanced to see what looks interesting!

wip Final Fantasy VI - "Coin Song" & "Edgar and Sabin's Theme"
jnWake replied to jnWake's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Double post! Finished the remix. I followed some instructions and managed to make CVPiano sound pretty. I also added a few more sections. The ending is "original", following a chord progression similar to the intro's one. Anyway, comments and feedback are very appreciated! -
I like the overall feeling of the mix, it has the same forest-ish mood than the original. I'm not very fond of the strings intro, it just sounds dull IMO. Maybe with pizzicato strings it would sound better. The song gets a lot better when the horn-like instrument comes in. Part starting at 0:50 is beautiful, the pad adds a lot. The snare could use some tweaking to sound a bit better though. Also, I think a ride cymbal would sound better than the closed hi-hat. All the rest of the arrangement is quite nice, though the volume is a bit too low. The piano could use a volume boost in the small section where it plays. You could work a bit on the mixing of some instruments that are too low.

Having 4 screens would be kind of awkward, so I guess they won't develop too much of a connection between the WiiU and the 3DS. However, Smash Bros is coming to both WiiU and 3DS, so you never know.

Unless I got the concept wrong, this Earthbound mix definitely belongs on the list.
-
I guess that was because they just want the domain removed, so if you change domain the problem would be fixed. At least, you wouldn't lose your website with my suggestion
-
Since they seem so desperate to protect their brand, why don't you tell them to buy another domain (maybe using your real name) for you? It'd be a semi-pacifical solution.

I'm also surprised that nobody did Locke's theme. The huge amount of "Gestahl Empire" mixes surprised me too, since it is an odd theme. New Continent being so popular was kind of expected. Anyway, there are some pretty good ones, but way too many "techno"-ish mixes for my liking though. I hope there is a chance to give/receive feedback, since it'd be interesting to listen to people's opinions on the remixes.

finished FF6 Airship Blackjack - Alexander's Corage
jnWake replied to FM's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
This is my favourite of your FFVI arrangements. I actually wanted to mix this theme too, but couldn't think of anything. This mix sounds great and has a nice atmosphere. I'm not familiar with the Star Trek theme but this has some airship/space kind of feel, so I guess you nailed it -
wip Final Fantasy VI - 'The Gestahl Empire'
jnWake replied to jnWake's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Thanks for the input! Yeah, I'd kill for a real guitar instead of the not very good free sample I used. I feel it isn't that bad, but a real guitar would make it sound really powerful. What's ShreddageX? For the drums I had a similar issue, using free samples. Also, I made the mistake of mixing all the drums into one track, so using EQ to enhance bass drums/snare got a bit tricky. I tried separating them but Reaper started crashing so I dropped that idea Lead you mean the guitar or synth one? I like the synth but it could be a bit more notorious, I have to learn how to make good leads with the VST I have... I liked the guitar lead but maybe the small bit of reverb I added makes it feel a bit distant. Anyway, thanks again. P.D. If any real guitarrist reads this and would like to aid me, just send me a PM! -
Watching this thread makes me want to download this, but I started playing SC2 again so combining these 2 games would destroy my free time... I should be on vacation (forever).

finished Final Fantasy VI - Medley LIVE!!!
jnWake replied to Sam Ascher-Weiss's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Lol the video makes me dizzy, is it sped-up? I love that you used the original soundfont but isn't there an MP3 of this? Youtube's sound sucks.
