  1. @Dj Mokram. No tomatoes necessary.  Situational awareness is never a bad thing.

Not all of us follow gaming news at all (or honestly even play games all that often anymore).   It's good that you said something and that the project leadership made a point informing everyone so we could each make our own decisions.

As for me, I've already expressed my thoughts to Trism at length, but I'll summarize them here.

I think albums like this are a gift for fans honoring the childhood memories they have of playing these games.  I don't think the actions, alleged or proven, of one person should be allowed to steal the joy that comes with those memories.   They may be his compositions, but they mean far more than that to thousands of people.

I'm happy to finish my arrangement as a tribute to the fans of Secret if Evermore.

  2. " I actually added a "flugelhorn" tag to our database JUST for this mix, because it just didn't feel right going with "trumpet" "

This makes me really happy, haha.  When i started working on this i searched OCR to see if there had ever been a remix tagged with flugelhorn.  There had not and I thought, well there will be soon!.

This remix was a fun experiment.  It's only my second arrangement, and the first I had written on my own.  I also wanted to see just how little i could get away with in terms of instrumentation.

Fun fact, the flugelhorn came with a larger mouthpiece than I was used to. I had bought a replacement for it in my usual size, but i decided to try it out anyway. i had so much more flexibility while playing,  that I not only kept the large flugelhorn mouthpiece, I also ended up permanently switching to the larger size for trumpet as well.   So, in a way, this simple little remix has actually had a significant impact on all of my playing since.

... OK, that's pretty much the most bad-ass hobby I have heard of on here to date.

So unless someone else has, like... I dunno, lion wrangling or something, I don't think anything going to top that.

Thanks! though i didn't mean to one up anybody. lol.   Its a lot of fun, and in my case actually somewhat work related (aeronautical engineer).  If anyone is ever in Northern California and wants a ride, hit me up!

I dunno know though. I'm always amazed by the talents and interests that show up in this community....it's incredible.  And hey, we actually DO have someone called Liontamer....just saying....

Anyone else find an unusual way to occupy their time lately?

  4. Sorry to hear about those of you who are having a rough time.

I've been fortunate to be able to work from home, so it really hasn't affected me too much.
As far as the extra time at time home goes. I've been doing some recording and a lot of woodworking.   My girlfriend and I got engaged while she was here visiting for the past couple months too, so now I'm going through the visa application process for her so we can get married in the U.S.

  5. Our deadline for submission to OCR is going to be Thursday December 19th.  This is in part to accommodate travel schedules and to make sure we get this in before all the holiday madness .  Plus, it gives a full album submission date less than a year after we started.  Nice work!

This submission date will put us on course for release in February 2020.

If you need help remembering the deadline....

  6. Unfortunately our mastering engineer has had to back out due to real life obligations.  We need a replacement!! If anyone is interested in picking up the job, send me a PM!

EDIT: 9-24-19 - Crisis averted. We now have a new mastering engineer.  The project is still on track for the November 1st deadline!
