  1. Really cool track. I have to agree with Ridiculously Garrett on the high wub sounds. But overall, this sounds pretty good.
  2. I wonder if there is a possibility of modding F-Zero and throwing this remix in there on one of the track levels? Because if that's possible, that'd be great, just like your remix you've got going here.
  3. Really nice sound to it. I got lost into the track, in a good way, of course.
  4. This is really heavy stuff, man! Really pumping sounding and upbeat. 1:56, the melody isn't accurate, but hey, your own twist on it, so whatever, right? But I really like this. I'm sure there are some issues in terms of equalization, but I'm no expert on that. Really cool, though.
  5. I'm really liking what you did with the samples. And my goodness, loving that percussion and dark vibe.
  6. A huge difference from the original for sure. I'm not sure if you're just titling it "I Give Up" as in you're giving up on a race in F-Zero or what, but if you mean you're giving up on finishing this, then why? You've put effort into it so far. It sounds good.
  7. I'm not a fan of Fi, but the original song was moving and you did a wonderful job making me tear up a bit with your remix just as the original did.
  8. It sounds cool, and maybe it's just me, but I think there might be a lot of reverb on the flute lead. Perhaps even on your original melody playing around it. And I don't hear any bass. I suppose that's not necessary, but from my perspective, this is meant to be dance music, so the absence of a bassline doesn't sound right. Aside from that, it does sound nice and I would say that it even captures a "lost woods" feeling. Or a place that's magical.
  9. It sounds classy to the point all I could really think of was Samus walking through town at night and then heading over to the bar to get a drink. This rendition is certainly unique, because when I think Metroid, I think chiptune, rock, or some style of electronic dance music.
  10. I don't know which program you use, but if you use FL Studio, there are some things that can't easily be automated from a simple right click on a knob. This is usually with some 3rd party VSTs. So you'd grab the knob and move it wherever, then go up to Tools > Last tweaked > Create automation clip. There are some VSTs that don't even allow that. If you don't have FL Studio, then this info might be useful for someone who does and doesn't know.
  11. I do like the sound. It's very relaxing and sounds like some type of house music. The Minish Cap had some pretty good music.
  12. I agree with the sitcom sounding intro. That sort of thing makes me laugh. I'm not familiar with the original theme, but some of this kind of reminded me of EarthBound.
  13. Nice story about how this remix came to be. It's very fitting for the word "lullaby" and it really is relaxing.
  14. Did you ever try to submit your "Only Link Can Do the Duck Walk" remix? It's still one of my favorites and really deserves recognition. :)

I submitted it when it looked like people were done commenting on it!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I had been so busy with the holidays. Anyway, I hope it gets accepted. It sounds pretty clean on my end, and I only have monitor speakers and a pair of headphones. :)

  15. Other than Mario Kart and F-Zero, Snowboard Kids was a game I grew up playing. The music was really catchy and hearing it today is really nostalgic. Hopefully Air3s is able to have you dream come true by having it become accepted on OCRemix.org.
  16. Aquatic Ambiance never gets old, so of course I can listen to this for 11 minutes. But I thought there was a limit on music duration. Anyway, I like the section around the middle of this track. Strange sounds began to be introduced and it building up was pretty nice. ZiSotto did a great job at capturing the aquatic feeling that the original had.
  17. You either invest a ton of money into having people come together to play the music how you want it, or you buy/download a digital audio workstation with separate recorded instruments or VSTs. I'm not sure what you're asking specifically for, though. If you're talking about the action packed parts of each song, then the best instruments to go with are brass such as trumpets, French trumpets, trombones, and tubas with timpani playing behind it. I especially like the brass that hit lower notes because that gives me goosebumps. Taking up music classes would benefit you, I think, if you plan on making stuff like this. I like orchestral music, but I don't know if I could make one.
  18. I've been away for a couple of days, so I just got done reading your post. But it looks good. And I'll go ahead and look up a col legno patch. I wasn't sure if there was a word for it. Thanks!
  19. I definitely heard a percussive sound in there and was wondering where that was coming from. I'm not looking to make something super realistic, I would just like to emulate that sound to the best of my ability with what I currently have, which is Edirol Orchestral, though, for some reason mine won't let me play multiple instruments at once without a few of them becoming inaudible and then crashing FL Studio. xD I'll see if I have a VST that will let me detune the sounds. I'll take the rest of what you said into account. Unfortunately, I don't have a good enough recording setup. And I'll check out Penderecki's choral music.
  20. I'm looking to emulate the pizzicato sound that comes in at 1:58 of the song below. Is this a violin technique, or is there a word for this other than just pizzicato? I'd like a clearer version of this particular plucking as I've heard it in a few old scary movies and even a bit of it in television shows.
  21. I've applied a number of these things here and there. I'll post an updated version when I get home today.
  22. Sounds very clean and airy. The plucky synth is pleasing to my ears. And I love the filtered flangered drums, too. I'm not even sure how you make it work, but it's something I've heard in a few D&B tracks and I love that stuff. Great job!
  23. That's unfortunate. I did notice the difference in the note dynamics when I was sliding it around, which is why I was trying to automate it, aside from just doing the reverb. Oh well. Thanks for the tip.
