  1. I have to agree a lot with what DJ H0us3C0rP3 said. The Mario vocals are overly used this time around. What you had previously, I felt was fine. As for presets and plug-ins, the last time I checked, there were some freebie synths on this site you could download for free. I use a plug-in called Massive. I could try to find the application on my laptop and send it your way, but I won't make any promises.
  2. It's very repetitive, which is what techno is basically supposed to be. But if you were to submit this, then I don't think it would be accepted due to repetition and because it really doesn't go anywhere else and just loops. But all hope for a techno remix isn't lost. You can easily introduce different progressions to the track to transform it into something different that would help break away from the repetitiveness and then bring it back. You don't want to stray too far from the original or it'll no longer be Mario. You could also try to tie in other familiar melodies from the Mario franchise. I know it would no longer be just Space Zone 2, but it's worth trying out. I think the Mario vocals are fine as they're syncing to the track. I would try to make the bass more noticeable. I know it's there, but as Greymanz stated, nothing really pops out. I would say you're on a fine start, though.
  3. Pretty nice sounding. This was one of my favorite themes in OoE, behind Unholy Vespers. Parts of Wandering the Crystal Blue reminds me of something out of James Bond. Would've been cool if there was a choir in the backdrop at certain parts, but that's just me. Overall, I like it.
  4. I was going to ask about the Mario theme as well, but I forgot to. I thought maybe he was throwing in two remixes.
  5. One of cooler sounding Mario tunes I've heard. Kind of reminds me of this one guy who goes by the name Toneless Bombast who made a Mario remix. I really like how you used the SFX in this, because it makes it so much more interesting. The ending did it for me. xD
  6. If you were to move a bit away from the original, it would be an awesome addition to OCR. Nintendo hasn't made a new F-Zero game and it'd be great to hear more remixes for F-Zero in general. This was one of my favorite tracks in FZX. Sounds pretty good.
  7. It's an interesting twist. Not sure about the little choir behind it, though. To me, it doesn't fit. But that's just my thoughts on that. I'd probably put some chants or something in there. Not like Gregorian Chants, just something I that would sound tribal. Anyway, I like the percussion and pan flute.
  8. How long does it take for you to color these in? I've drawn a lot growing up, but then I stopped after a long time and I'd like to get back into doing so, especially since I bought a drawing tablet. I don't color things, though, and on the computer, it's different.
  9. I did not expect that. Interesting choice of genre. I have to say, I enjoyed it. Very upbeat and happy sounding.
  10. It sounds like some kind of trance/dance from the early 90s. Not sure if that's what you're going for or not. I would definitely try to change things up melodically, because the same melody keeps playing throughout the whole track, which kind of gets old after a while. If you remember Lavender Town from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, you could definitely throw that into the mix to give it some variation. I like what you did with the piano at 2:30, giving it sort of an arpeggio. But definitely throw in some FXs, sweeps, crashes and booms. I feel like you could really expand on this. Don't be afraid to play around the same chord progressions and alter them into something of your own. The ending kind of ended strangely, too.
  11. This fits the mood nicely for the original game track. Some of this gives me the feeling of being at some creepy carnival. I really like the glitchy sounds and the piano. Is that Kamek in this track or Boo? Either way, I'm liking those little add-ons. Happy early Halloween?
  12. It has been a while, so I regret saying that I don't remember a lot of the music from Wario Land except the completion theme after every level. It's very bold and angry sounding, just like Wa-Wa-Wario! Good job on this.
  13. I like the silhouette DK in the first post and how he's identified with the one article of clothing he wears. I like the F-Zero one because I'm a fan of that series. It looks like it's paying homage to the first F-Zero and F-Zero X with the SSS in the corner and the course they're on. I like the F-Zero X quote in the blimp teleprompter, too. I wish they'd make another F-Zero already.
  14. I couldn't draw with charcoal. I'd need to have the option of erasing, but these look really good.
  15. I'm not all that great at EQing or really much of anything mixing, but I'll do what I can for now. I tried to cut as much freq out of the dreamy saw synth and I want to say that I can still hear it. Doesn't really sound like it's drowning everything out. Any tips on how I can find the better parts of each frequency when EQing? I don't want to remove the important ones and keep the unnecessary ones. I'll try to get an update posted soon.
  16. Thanks you two. As you said, Glasfen, the melody is simple and repetitive, which kind of has me concerned with how I could change it up. I was thinking of throwing in other familiar Smash Bros. melodies, but at the same time, I was thinking that I could try to make my own melodies and attempt to capture the influences of Smash Bros. music. The Nikanoru, I know this isn't mixed right. That's another issue I've been having in general when trying to make music. I'm not all that savvy in those areas, unfortunately. The saw synth that comes in at the 0:54 mark could probably be toned down, but I really like the dreamy sound is has, and I'd like to push everything else through while trying to have the saw synth still give fullness. In the meantime, I'm going to play around with the melodies and arps, and then come back to mixing down with hopefully better results.
  17. Super Smash Bros. 64 had a lot of good music and a lot of it today is something most people I believe looked past or don't even remember. I'd actually like to get serious about completing a remix of the final score theme after defeating Master Hand. Original Remix v1 Remix v2
  18. I remember hearing some of this before. I really like the atmosphere.
  19. I started something a year ago, but I never went back to doing anything with it. I may jump back into doing this, though. I'll probably change the synths, too.
  20. Good lord! This remix sounds awesome! It literally got goosebumps.
  21. My favorite part was when Magicant started playing. <3
  22. It's always great to hear a Smash remix. Pretty nice!
  23. I was thinking this was going to be a really chilled out track, and it actually is. Just the transition into the little upbeat groove wasn't something I was expecting. Pretty good vibe, though. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
