  1. Can't wait to hear the final product. This is pretty cool and I'm jealous.
  2. Saw the title and had to listen. You're missing out if you don't listen to this. It's so wonderful.
  3. I agree with what Timaeus said. Syncopation to the melody could have done some wonders. I would even suggest that maybe change up the melody a tad to give it some of your own flavor. I think the genre you chose is an interesting one. There was a Brinstar remix someone was working on that had sort of this style, at least a 70s style. Was that you? Anyway, I like it for what it is, but try to change it up a tad.
  4. First off, the title is perfect for this song. Secondly, it's refreshing to hear a Break The Targets/Board The Platforms.since we haven't heard it in any of the other Smash games. I like how you took that and blended it with the Character Select Screen theme.
  5. Sorry I haven't replied in a few days. I was out taking care of a family member. I was actually considering the pattern block thing. I usually start on one pattern and work with everything under there so I can make sure I'm staying on key and then separate them to their own pattern. My issue is trying to keep the original melody without butchering it to the point it's almost unrecognizable. That's most likely just a comfort zone thing, and it's something I really need to learn to break away from. As for this remix, I plan on going the trance route with it.
  6. I like the other melody that is layered with the original one. It creates a nice sound. I think you could do more with the bassline, though. It has a nice, gritty, sound, but it's just suspended notes. I like the 8th notes at the 0:12 mark. You should bring some 8th notes in at 1:48. Not sure if that makes any sense. I wish the kick and snare were a little more prominent. That alone could just be my preference. Aside from that, you've got the rock thing going and futuristic sounding things in the background.
  7. Back when I first heard this track in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I fell in love. This is probably one of the most difficult things I've ever tried to recreate without being able to find a MIDI version of it online. This is specifically because it has a lot of arpeggios. I'm still trying to figure this out with the second section of it. I actually plan on getting this done, unlike the other remixes I want to work on, but can't for the life of me create complextro. Anyway. Here's what is in store. X - Tunnel Scene Remix I'll most likely name it Tunnel Vision when it's complete.
  8. Never played Yoshi Touch & Go, but I have played Kirby's Dream Land 3. That is one of the best Kirby games with one of the best soundtracks ever made. So you're going to put Sand Canyon in this as well? I'm looking forward to hearing that. This sounds really good so far. And I'm digging that bass.
  9. Try creating a mash up with two different songs to save room. Here I took the Earth God's Lyric and Wind God's Aria. Then I placed one above and then the next one is below, creating a sort of different but familiar sound. https://soundcloud.com/uffevonlauterbach/earth-wind-gods-lyric-aria/s-bP1YG
  10. I'd actually like to do a remix of Port Town SNES version, but I don't usually find myself being motivated enough in doing so, and if I were, it would be hard to outdo the one I linked.
  11. https://soundcloud.com/tonelessbombast/f-zero-port-town-toneless Not mine, but one of the cooler remixes I've heard.
  12. It reminds me of something from around the 80s or so. It's so strange and somehow just works.
  13. Neither of the themes transition into one another. So this would most likely fall under a medley. As for the violin sound, I'm not sure if that's on purpose for keeping others from stealing your work, or if you don't recognize how unfitting it sounds.
  14. First of all, the title is funny. Your remix kind of reminds me of something out of the Castlevania games for the PS2. This version certainly sounds a lot better than the original.
  15. As I took a listen to this, I looked back into the description to see if there was any mention of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and noticed that Óscar Araujo's name was mentioned. For the most part, RoeTaka did a really good job at giving it that feeling while also making the melodies recognizable.
  16. I always enjoy hearing new Castlevania remixes. This one is pretty nice! Really like the changes in keys and the instrumentation overall.
  17. Aside from what has already been stated, I think it sounds like a good idea. Interesting take on the original by applying different chord progressions. It kind of gives it this old folk feeling. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. Keep it up, though, because this sounds promising, despite the already stated issues.
  18. I think most of us are used to a darker theme coming from Batman. I certainly did not expect this.
  19. You could probably fool some diehard Kirby fans into believing that these are missing themes in the Kirby games.
  20. I don't know what to say about 1:24. I personally hear nothing wrong with it. The other parts I could hear in an instant the first time around, knowing I had to make changes, but the 1:24 mark doesn't strike me as odd. I was trying to copy the original source to the best of my ability while altering it to 4/4. Oh well. :S
  21. Yeah, it's at 1:18. I'm thinking that when it comes to the final thing, I'll have some arps or FXs in the background, that way it doesn't feel too repetitive, maybe even a familiar chime or something, as well as change the drum pattern. I need to give Smash a rest and continue this, though. As for the third key change, did you mean 1:34? And is the link what you're suggesting I do for the third key change, that I go about doing something similar to Zircon's Spatial Recognition? If you are, I'll give it a go.
  22. I'm reminded of a few things. First, it sounds like some uplifting trance from the early 2000s. Secondly, the voice reminds me of the vocal in Flutlicht - Icarus. Third, I'm getting a Snowboard Kids vibe. These are all positive things in my eyes. This really retains the feeling from the original, but also has a nice airy feeling to it. I really like this.
  23. Kind of wondering if the first transition has been smoothed out. I won't share when it transitions, that way you, the listener, can figure out when the transition is made and whether or not it sounds natural or not. I feel that if you look at the time, it'll influence you to think differently than you probably would have, because you would have already expected it. Update is in the OP.
