I was so totally set to start recording a fanfic review (it would have to be game related ) but then I got distracted playing Half-Life 2 at 5 frames per second... if y'all want some stuff from me--random sound clips like I've been giving to VGDJ comes to mind primarily--just ask :3

I can't say that I don't visualize music, but it would be utterly pointless to try and convey with words what I experience when I shut my eyes and simply listen. you'll just have to take my word for it.

Super R-Type: Good music but it looks like it could've been made for the NES. A little sparse on the power-ups. Weapons are kind of lame. 3/5 R-Type III: You're not going to know what's going on if you don't read the manual. I like the different Force options. Goddamn this game is hard. 4/5 SimCity: Your archetypal city management game. Build things, demolish things. Run out of cash. 2/5 Illusion of Gaia: Travel the world, transform into different heroes. The plot is somewhat odd. Bosses are cheap. 3/5 Animal Crossing: Wild World: I wish my furniture turned into leaves I could stuff in my pockets. Only problem is I'd forget what was what and end up with a pile of junk. Creepy furry fetish game. 4/5 Paperboy 2: Ride your bike around, throw papers at mailboxes. Break nonsubscriber windows for extra money. Watch out for lawnmowers and ghosts. 3/5 Hyper Iria: Anime-based game. I wish I could read Japanese. Not easy to figure out without a manual and a dictionary. 1/5 F-Zero GX: Repetitive gameplay. Cheap AI. Diamond Cup sucks. 2/5

I've gotten away with it dozens of times...taking stuff out of reshop carts instead of reshelving it helps too.

As a matter of fact they added multiplayer to starcraft after they'd finished doing voice acting and event scripting and making maps for thirty campaign missions so yeah, I wouldn't call Starcraft oriented towards competitive play.

Most of you don't know this but from time to time I delve into the activity of creating custom campaign maps for Starcraft and the Brood War expansion. Nothing fancy, just basic 1v1(v1), 2v2, 2v2c, all of them UMS maps... But since I rarely play the game myself anymore and I have a tendency to forget my battle.net name and password, I'm looking for people to test the maps out for me, suggest tweaks, alterations to the map layout, things like that. Depending on how many people show interest I'll see if my old geocities hosting still works and post the maps there for download. It'd be nice if we could include attachments in the threads but I think that would be a bad idea in the long term so you'll have to make do with what I've got.

I'm going as a pair of giant balls. That or Death. Man...I should totally do Castlevania Death.

Final Fantasy always works well, but if you're going to be selecting pieces to use in a marching band I'd suggest shopping around different genres and titles. Some stuff translates better than others especially given the prevalence of brass in marching bands over other, more melodious types such as strings and woodwinds.
