Sometimes I wonder if people are missing the point of OCR. That being to remix video game music, not because you want adulation or industry recognition, but because you want to do something for fun. I think the community's sort of lost that and everyone's being focused on doing these album projects or trying to get OCR artists to write the music for the next big-name title to come along. Which is fine, I suppose, for some people, but for me it seems a lot like the community is becoming just another industry training camp. I'm not saying that getting hired by game developers to write the scores for their titles is a bad thing, but it shouldn't be the emphasis around which you base your decisions as a member of this community. Come on, guys. What happened to the way things used to be? Everyone's gotten so serious and quite honestly I feel that can only hurt OCR in the long run. If or perhaps when the site finally closes I would not be surprised to see "people losing focus of what the site was originally created for" as being one of the contributing factors.

I don't think I've ever said this before, but I'm beginning to think that part of the problem with video game movies isn't in getting the licensing or writing a script (both of which are hard enough--you basically have to drop wads of cash on the game company to borrow the title and then condense a 50-hour game into less than three if you aren't making up your own story instead), but the fans. Yes, the fans are part of why game movies suck. Because they go into the theater expecting the film studio and the script writers and the set designers and the actors to get every detail exactly freaking right and when they see something that is entirely contrary to what they were expecting they go ballistic and start slinging mud at the film. If taken as separate from the series that they are based on video game movies can be good, even enjoyable. What makes them fail is, like every other movie, the people that go see it. The people that hate this element or that and based on their own preferences tell their friends and family members and coworkers not to see this movie. And then the movie bombs and these "fans" get up on their high horse and say "see, I told you so!" Idiots.

I wouldn't call it an aw s**t moment like has been discussed so far, but World 6 fortress on new super mario bros. wii certainly gave me pause. Then there was the time I died to the first goomba in the very first level. THAT was an aw shit moment.

Yeah, I don't eat that much (and I'd rather avoid paying for something I don't have room for, as regards exercise equipment). Which is to say I do eat a fair bit, but it's not like all at the same time.

You know, this is a question for Anime ReMix. (and before you get on my ass telling me that anime is specifically japanese animation, it isn't. "Anime" refers to animation in general.)

I don't have any weight issues, but I would like to build a little muscle and tone overall (not going for the bodybuilder physique). Currently I have no set program regarding exercise (aside from a brisk walk every day and irregular usage of freeweights) and my diet consists mainly of sandwiches, mostly-healthy foods and plenty of rest. Any tips?

I wonder how long it is before we start listing bosses we've had as employees.

You know, I like Halo and all, but it just doesn't hold a candle to Half-Life. Not even in the same solar system as Half-Life.

I made someone ragequit last night off of an IRC channel when I showed them a youtube video of the German version of Half-Life. Now normally I'd show people videos of Kaizo Mario World or Parallel Worlds (a hack of A Link to the Past which yes has been Let's Played) I figured what the hell, it can't be any worse than the usual stuff you see on craptube.
