fyi, soundclick doesn't like remixes being uploaded. They removed one of my game remixes (yet my other remixes remain up... I think someone complained to the owners/mods that I had a remix up)

according to this failed song, I rendered it 04/04/04 (which is a rather sexy date...) I know I worked with a tracker before this(attempted to anyways...), so it was either early 04 or late 03 when I started.

I'm gonna side with zephyr~~~~~~~~~ and say that if you do know how to do really rather simple stuff (i.e. loading samples), then working on a remix is probably not the best idea. Fool around with the program and one of the demo songs.

a description of the kind of music you need would be helpful too. format (.mid? .mp3? .wav?) genre (ambient? rock? dance?) length (1:00? 0:30? 5:00?) do you want it to loop?

Right click tempo > create automation clip. it really is trial and error when adjusting the automation clip, try and zoom in and get as close as you can.

start > programs > accessories > entertainment > volume control options > properties hit the recording ratio, and select whatever input you're using. hit ok select whatever input you're using, and put the volume up maybe 80%. in flstudio, select an open insert, where it says 'IN' at the top of the mixer, choose one of the options (all my options detect sound, so choose whether or not you want mono or stereo (usually you want mono)). if you speak or play something, it should run through fl. turn down the buffering if you don't want much/any latency.

I'm preeeeetty sure you can whore yourself on gendisc. Get more attention and stuff. Also, I was also thinking about doing narratives on a future album (great minds think alike mofo).

I'd recommend avoiding the Edirol PCR-80.

set a synth/instrument to it's own fx insert channel. load fruity free filter. play with the freq knob.

File > Import > MIDI file > whateverisyourfile.mid Assuming it loads, you should see the step sequencer filled with several midi out vsts. Clicking on one of them will bring up the midi out window. To give each midi out their own instrument, click on the list next to patch and select one of the options. If you aren't getting any sound out of FL, try options > midi settings. Put the Microsoft MIDI Mapper port number to 0.

I would love it if in the class, you never ever ever got to play the game. Just a big 'fuck you' to people who thought it would be an easy/fun/cheap class to get a credit in.
