If even Zircon gets writer's block and has a buildup of unused WIPs, then I guess I don't feel as bad. My last OCR submission attempt was in October 2004. I have 20 game-related mixes, most which haven't seen the light of day to anyone but me. Actually, my game mixes outnumber my original works now, is that a bad thing But now I'm starting to feel more confident again, little by little since I joined the Tales music project. That has helped me stay in with completing at least one song. And Zirc, I actually still have a few of your game WIPs lying in my playlist somewhere. They're cool renmants of stuff that could be something more.

I tend to use the Fruity Granulizer for more controlled stutter effects, particularly if they need to change speed and tonality over time. Otherwise, I have gotten more into the habit of beatslicing the way Myth is doing, directly on the playlist. It's a nice way to really mix up your drums.

OCR01415 - Final Fantasy VI "Greater Alchemic Patchwork"
CC Ricers replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
(Jams along to it and places it with his all-vinyl break/DnB music folder) Yeah, it's pretty good. There should be some (non-OCR) ochestral Drum & Bass music that I'm missing. -
Hey Kyle dude, I have this WIP that's probably 95% done, though I didn't send you the new version yet. Reason is, the changes I made since the last deadline were so few, I didn't need to work on it much and almost forgot about it. But it's still there

To top it off, the vocals are in Spanish...we need more of this stuff! I didn't think there was a Spanish rock remix of any song, but here we go.

*rofl* Love the simile there, Aurora! Ya I guess I'm a natural, eh? hahaha IN OTHER NEWS.... VGDJ is now #20 on Podcast Alley! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH nelly! 20 already? You know what that means. GOTTA TORRENT 'EM ALL!

OCR00581 - Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike "Jungle Jazz"
CC Ricers replied to orkybash's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
(looks at date) 2002! Wow, it sounds too good to come from that time. There aren't too many DnB remixes here, and I should probably look deeper. This is a very good example of the soulful, jazzy DnB style known as Liquid Funk, and now that I found it I can't stop putting it on repeat. I would seriously consider mixing this in a DJ set. -

Thought I should bump this... Yes, please bump something that was just asked yesterday and was the second to last post up to a few minutes ago. Here's your sig. Sorry about that, I need to learn to be more pateint. I understand if you dont want to do my request anymore, I guess i will find time to do it on my own. Thanks for the sig anyway though. Have pride in shitty knockoff work. And thank you for the free sig that I embellished, maco! EDIT: The shitty knockoff work being what I did below. The crab with forks is a nice touch. -
OCR01384 - Ninja Gaiden "Basilisk Run"
CC Ricers replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Very nicely done. You can feel the pan-American vibe going through this entire song. -
I'd like some wah guitar samples. Nothing too fancy, just want to use them as accompaniment. And while I'm at it, a good slap bass. The only one I have now is very GM-sounding.

I came up with this, hope it's good enough. -
OHCRAP you are right. And that's the place where I usually check the updates, not here. I forgot that this thread got moved. Good thing I posted my WIP in the nick of time

Is the Tales project going to be mentioned?

OCR01342 - Final Fantasy X-2 "Chauffage au Gaz"
CC Ricers replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
From all your past works I've listened to, I'll just say that you made quite a surprising debut to OCR with this remix. It's totally off the wall, swarming with magic synths and lasers and...stuff. You get the idea. Congrats on your first OCRemix, Myth! It's been a long journey...you deserve it. -
What about links to the high-resolution version of the character pics? All of the characters on the banner were shrunk and edited in some way.

I'd be willing to design the site, if that spot's not already taken. I have a temp host I can use to show what it will look like in the progress.

Are you by any chance rubbler, my arch competitor?

OCR01367 - Dizzy the Adventurer "Mix Dizz"
CC Ricers replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Ha, I've played this game before. And remember my dad saying how the music always made him fall asleep. I heard this at VGmix so I already know how great it is. Not overly ambitious, but a very nice upbeat tune. The vocal lead really has character. -
Cool...our own forums. Does this mean that we get more freedom in showing our WIPs to other members of the project?

To create melodies, right-click the channel name and select "Piano roll" on the menu. In the new Piano Roll window, simply draw in the notes with the cursor. You can drag and resize them as well. Drum loops are a more complex/broader subject. I suggest reading Zircon's thread on groovy drums, it has some great advice.

OCR01351 - Double Dragon III "J! Groove"
CC Ricers replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
The koto is fake-ish, but it really doesn't matter much for this style of music. Upbeat through and through, and the piano solo is the highlight here. I would agree that the ending is too abrupt, it's like a 'stage clear' sort of thing. -
Just a heads-up of what I'm working on. I actually have more work done but this is a short clip.
-
Too late...they already got me. "Wow, I LOVE Symposia!" Close enough.

If you are talking about pitch slides, there's another way to go around doing them by automating the pitch knob in the channel settings knob. Right click and choose 'edit events' and you adjust how much the pitch changes. Remember, this affects all notes that are being played. Now I have a FL question: is it possible to copy entire channels from one project to another? There are some sounds that I really like in some of my projects, and sometimes I want to use them in other pieces, or to create variations of them. I know you can clone channels, but is this possible to do between projects? I'm using FL Studio 4.

Yeah you are. That is pretty cool. By the way, I'm dying to know, where does your little animation of tricycle drift come from? that is pretty funny, did you make it yourself? I'm not sure where the video's from. I found this GIF posted in an Unmod thread and had to take it.
