  1. I see what you did there. Anyways, here's a quick thing I did: "Cabin Habit"
  2. Really? 'Cause I had the idea of doing a 4/4 hip hop piece in my head since 1999...
  3. Oh, and since no one answered the question: In FL 7 just go to File->Import->MIDI file... There should be an option to split each instrument into a separate channel.
  4. I initially thought of doing a solo arrangement project for Banjo-Kazooie, but Kirkhope's stuff is just too good.
  5. If only Morgan Freeman was a video game character...
  6. For some reason this tune reminded me of Corona's "The Rhythm of the Night". I smell a potential mashup... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv6xxEF4hdo
  7. I think I'm fortunate to have grown up in a time when hip hop was making its way into pop hits. Hip hop pretty much covers every style of music ever -- in that sense, it's less like a genre and more like a container format.
  8. It actually isn't in the album -- I just linked to the ORC-hosted files.
  9. Well, anyways the original non-MIDI version of "Property" can be found on my Anthology album, along with the other compositions I've submitted for the ORC. </spam>
  10. I decided do to some daily works; each day I'll brainstorm for about an hour to come up with a new idea and post it here. I'm sure I'll make something good eventually. 11. Wha' hoppen? The same thing happened to me when I did my PRC 130 entry...
  12. Well of course it's "better" -- it's Daft Punk!
  13. I'd say I have about two album's worth of unfinished junk. I'm currently toying with the idea bunching it all together, doing a quick mastering job, and publishing it. As for tips, sometimes I merge half-ideas together. Makes for some interesting stuff...
  14. Ha ha, I'm happy now. This piece I made was meant to be the beginning of a Daft Punk-themed DJ mix. Unfortunately as I was about to delve further into it, Daft Punk coincidentally debuted their ultra-mashup live set. The Daft's set would of course evolve and eventually be recorded for the Alive 2007 album, making my potential mix useless. Still, I was pleased that I was able to find what I had worked on, which had disappeared until very recently. The Daft Mix (intro+musique) Ingredients: *"Ouverture" *"WDPK Intro" from one of Daft Punk's vinyl-spinning live sets *"Musique" from one of Daft Punk's electronic live sets The idea was to use the pre-existing "Short Circuit" bits to seque in the Discovery version of the track.
  15. So you're just gonna do the kick-hat-snare-hat-kick-hat-snare-hat-occasional-crash for the whole piece?
  16. There are some cases where I'm unfamiliar with the game the source came from. After listening to the tune once I abstain from hearing it until I have the main arrangement idea(s) settled. In most other cases the source tune is so familiar that I can distinguish the instruments from the notes. I usually play around with the notes in my head.
  17. Looks like we're off to a promising start...
  18. Have you checked FL's trash bin folder?
  19. I was under the impression that it only had one track.
  20. I was surprised people even voted for mine, considering the quality and quantity of the entries...
