  1. Another serious victim in P2P renaming is Weird Al. I'm no great fan of his by any extent of the imagination, but as a musician the guy deserves the respect, you know? There's a great deal about this on his wikipedia page, and a few lists of misattributed songs, so at least there are people doing something about this. Also, I find it helps not to use shitty P2P clients such as Limewire. Stick with reliable torrent sites, and you'll very very rarely ever encounter this kind of thing.
  2. Hmm, well I tried resetting the BIOS, but it's still not working. Tried a Windows startup disk, but we're having no luck there either.
  3. I was using my dad's pc to copy a dvd (he's got the software installed, and the better dvd burner), it froze and I tried to reboot it. No luck, it says 'CMOS checksum error', and I've no idea what that means. Windows refuses to boot up, even in safe mode. Any ideas? ...I really want this fixed before he gets home. =( ...Happy Friday 13th everyone.
  4. Glad I stopped by, this is incredibly pertinent to my Personal Interest Project for Society & Culture class. (If anyone's got any resources on the topic of videogame violence they could share, it'd be much appreciated ) I agree with dfcentre, and what Tael says is true too - but regardless of what has happened to games in the past, we need to accommodate for new games in the future. Unless we do, things won't move forward.
  5. Hello favourites thread. Perfect Dark has one of my favourite OSTs. Well deserved, as is JFG... but no Conker's BFD? Also missing is Lylat Wars. Personally I think it's all too Nintendo/Rare-centric. Sure, they're great games, but it seems a bit fanboyish to me. And- woh.. haven't been here in a while.. hi guys. =)
  6. Hmm, well I can't see anything like that. At worst, there are some minor scratches.
  7. This occurs once the data's been copied back to the HD. I've burnt almost 30 dvds now; only one or two have had the problem. I'm not sure if the 'adhesive rot' thing is it.. cos they're not that old, and there's no visible damage on the disc.
  8. I've burnt backup dvds of music. Recently I copied the music back onto a HD - some of the .mp3s are messed up. What was once a track from The Black Mages is now 117 minutes long and is partly Black Mages, partly Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Audiobook. Any idea why this is, and if there's a way to fix it?
  9. Oh thanks. =) Yeah I've been to sites like Chudah's Corner, but not found anything much for what I'm looking for. =(
  10. Does anybody here know who the composer for the DK:JB soundtrack is? I've been looking around and can't seem to find it. I'm also still looking to find the name of the Tetris DS composer... EDIT: I can't find the artists for the Donkey Konga games either. Is there perhaps a comprehensive database with a list of game composers/artists somewhere..? Thanks in advance.
  11. buy a Creative Sorry; had to be said =P and no, I've never had a problem like that cos I don't have an iPod, however I am interested to know more about this Linux thing and GameBoy games..
  12. Yeah, Even Flow and most other Pearl Jam songs = good stuff imo. I recently got into a discussion with TO about this; and I kinda dug myself into a hole cos I didn't phrase my argument very well. =P Artists such as Fatboy Slim and Basement Jaxx have some great music, as well as mainstream success. There's some good mainstream music, but when it's overplayed (prime example is ABBA) it just loses it's worth. As for the chart websites, alot of them seem to be poorly/cheaply put together. Something worth checking out is Triple J's annual Hottest 100. It's a competition in which the public/JJJ listeners vote for their favourite tracks of the year; indie, mainstream, whatever. It always sparks interesting discussion and a variety of music.
  13. I'm just looking for the composer of the Tetris DS soundtrack. I've been looking for a while and can't seem to find it anywhere. Anybody know who it is?
  14. Count me in! Put me down for DS, GC (games/controllers), ..and I can bring those dvds of mp3s if you like. =P
  15. Goldeneye Rogue Agent Enter the Matrix Starfox post-SF64 Probably The Sims too.
  16. I call for a calendar on which there is a celebration for every day.
  17. Ok, so I'm probably the least knowledgeable about Zelda here (I've played OoT up to the Sprit Temple, played like 5 mins of ALttP and Awakening each, only one finished was WW) Anyway.. I thought Majora's Mask was "Zelda Gaiden" in Japan or something.. and to my knowledge, a gaiden is a side-story... confirm/deny?
  18. uhh... you mean 'render in real-time' right? There are plenty of games out there with graphics better than those of Toy Story already.
  19. Get off my forum. ...=P Hmm, do consoles count as 'sequels'? Personally I don't see the Wii as a 'sequel' to the GameCube, nor is the DS a sequel to the GBA. Also, imo it's yet to truly prove itself. Needs to be out for about 12 months, get some really good games released, hardware pushed harder, etc.
  20. I'm starting my entry tonight. EDIT: I just did a picture.. haha, a reminder of why I don't draw often. =P It's too big for my scanner, so I may have to do another.
  21. Mario Party? I've played all up to and including 5 - 4 had the gameplay sorted, but had too few minigames. 5 was shit. Overall, I give the prize to 1 and 3. Donkey Kong Country? 1 was the best. Yes, 2 had some nice features and additions, but it doesn't quite beat 1 imo. 3 was quite poor tbh. Worms series.. I'm not sure which I'd choose between Armageddon and World Party.
  22. I'm tempted to download this.. but after playing StepMania (that's not a game, it's an addiction!) I'm not sure I want to... These kinds of games get me hooked to the point where I can't do anything else... =/ And, my keyboard has that 'gap of death'...
