  1. this one is 10x slicker. really feelin this one (i'm obviously bias to the middle eastern strings) as soon as finals are over, you'll have yourself the new vox
  2. dudes... my favorite title track from one of my favorite franchises ever. this is beautiful stuff. like really. ummmm MORE CIV MUSIK PLS
  3. well, i think those who didn't like it in amidst the watchmen, might like the rated r 30 minute stand alone of it better. i can see how the black freighter storyline can be tedious to some during the watchmen read but as a standalone, it'll probably evade that fate that said, the story of the black freighter is best utilized alongside the watchmen... so it's hard to imagine it as an effective standalone (THEMATICALLY, at least) even if it will be a great expose in action and gore
  4. yeah, you pretty much circled waleed who could possibly also make it up there for this if it is a plausible weekend for him... also, if bahamut ends up flying in, there are even higher chances of this happening!
  5. it is impossible to put the book down once you start. it's such an infectious story. i can't wait for the movie or the black freighter release a week later. how so very insane march will be for me
  6. everybody knows i'd make the perfect ganondorf this movie looks shit, even for an amateur low-budget film.
  7. well its getting really awful. the effects are just terrible... wizard's fire is supposed to be epic... not some fucking hipside flamethrower. kahlan is still delicious but her spunkyness is dying off with each episode. richard is still very boyish and it is unnerving because even if he doesn't necessarily buy into the bigger picture of things as early as wizard's first rule, he accepts the task with a levelheaded maturity. i don't like the series system... the random adventures on their way to d'hara.... i think it's tacky. there's plenty of shit in the first book to fill the same number of episodes. this should have been a showtime or hbo series. only then could it have been what it ought to be. still, i am strangely addicted to watching it... i mean, it's just still sword of truth also, did anybody else think the lady in the preview of next week's episode is shota? and why the fuck isn't she hotter? she's supposed to be nearly as captivating as kahlan and eventually nicci... she looked like a haggardly witch. DISAPPROVE.
  8. pachalbel rant is one of my life's inspirations
  9. growing up in sweden is probably different than growing up in america
  10. i think this kicked my ass. the texture here is just phenomenal. great stuff especially the clavinet and that funky talkbox
  11. at least zedd is still richard's grandfather... save!
  12. go to zykomazika.com, download the album, listen to it and if you like it, buy the next one cuz it'll be better
  13. congratulations guys that is beautiful
  14. oh so delicious to my ears. i think i just heard what ice cream sounds like. very peaceful, very soothing. when very clever melodic arrangement teetering on the edge of nutty dissonance doesn't bother you, you know you're in for a treat. that seems to be this submission's "main theme" and it's a-ok in my book too! this is very cool. waaay beyond velocity. YES
  15. oh this is very cool. it probably wouldn't surprise anybody that i would hear something really good in this track and almost nothing bad. however, the direction of the track is really cool. it has a sort of dub vibe mixed with a jazz thing goin to it. very organic. the guitar is a trip... its obvious you have major chops and great tonal sense but mask it with the intentionally lazy (what everybody likes to call sloppy for some reason but believe me when i say it, i know what you're doing) meandering through the major source sections... it gives it a chill vibe but it also makes it hard to follow at points (take it from a person who is almost always hard to follow). more importantly, also, is that outside of the guitar, the drums and bass are left alone to fend for themselves and it isn't fair. the drums, while very dub-like in their mechanical repetitiveness, do leave a lot to be desired. i know this is going to sound awfully narcissistic but i'm sure others could vouch for this but this sounds a lot like the stuff i used to do... with boring, mechanical, sparse drums, a sloppy bassline with some respectable guitarage on top. to be perfectly honest with you, i've had a lot of music rejected from this site because of it. as this stands, hipfish won't make it either which would be a tragedy because it is so well-written. the drums have to be re-done and the bass has to be mixed differently... maybe to be flatter, fuller... not sure if i'm being of any help. the drums need work... what you have is a click track. it honestly breaks my heart to no this but this cannot make it onto the site like this. hell, message me and i'll personally help you with this track if you want. NOresubmit
  16. goodness. the arrangement is fantastic stuff. great sound. very creative treatment of the source, by the way - this has so much heart to it, it really shines right in the middle of the track. i don't see any reason to deny the peoples of the game music arrangement community this piece. YES
  17. wow, this smacked me in the face really, really hard. what to say? hmm... very good arrangment, striking a great balance between the source's flesh and original ligaments. the guitar playing is of course the shit and the rest of the instruments are almost as aggressively done well as the guitar if you weren't so distracted half the time with those nutty leads. you win. YESS
  18. i had been mired in a long hiatus due to some unfortunate circumstances in my life that brought me a lot of sadness over the last few months. i already sort of expected (it happens all the time) that when i returned to voting, the very first thing i'd listen to would move me in a way significant to everything in some way. serenade of storms is really well arranged and i think gets a ton of its goodness from that and is so well arranged that, in fact, it survives the things that are hindering it. the track sounds a little boomy as vig puts it, its big in the soundfield and the clicks (not clips) are very visible early on in the sparseness of the piece's beginning. additionally, there is the concern that because it is a solo piano piece that the piano is left out to dry with such shoddy dynamics but the arrangement is so good, it almost doesn't matter. it certainly can't be accepted sounding like this in the mix but it is right there if its cleaned up. YEScond.
  19. well, disney-abc is the company making the series... however, it is syndicated so it shows up on everything from abc to fox to whatever local station has decided to run it also, i made the dyslexic error of saying nbc earlier when i meant abc. and not only that but the quad was made of five guys... which of course doesn't make any sense. nah, one of the biggest problems i have with this is that the maturity of the series is going to be a lot lower than that of the books. this was somehting that had to be done by HBO or Showtime... DISNEY-ABC has no business tackling something that isn't close to being kid-friendly... instead they're dumbing it down and showing it to the world on saturday nights on local television.... sounds shady to me. still as a deep, deep fan of the series, i'm not about to miss it, either. but this shit ain't no narnia... how are they going to deal with demmin nass? how about the fact that nearly every significant female character in the story gets raped or close to it. fuck it. haha of course i've known bahamut for a while and he's my buddy but we can be buddies too !
