  1. Hello guys , i have made a HD remake of the classic song Aquatic Ambience from Donkey Kong Country , hope you like! -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h7wjUNg_rs
  2. Hey, everyone! Late last year I posted some live clips from my VGM/jazz group, The Hard Modes. Since then I've written a bunch of new arrangements for the group that we've been playing locally, and about a month ago we recorded some of our repertoire. I wanted to share the first of the bunch with you--the beloved "Corridors of Time" from Chrono Trigger, written by Yasunori Mitsuda: I never really intended to arrange this tune, especially because it seems like a lot of people cover it (and cover it well!). But, I kept hearing it while I was at MAGFest this year and was infected by the groove so much that I felt like I had to give making something unique a shot. The resulting arrangement is pretty straight forward with the exception of some harmonic variation and the incorporation of 3 additional Chrono Trigger melodies therein. Hope you enjoy, and would love to hear your feedback. Thanks for listening!

  4. Hey guys! I've been a long-time lurker of this community and I've recently made the decision to release my pent-up musical ideas. Though this track is already completed in my eyes, I am always looking for new ideas and suggestions for future arrangements/compositions. Looking for feedback in all shapes and forms. I'm not sure if I should try submitting this track to OCR, to be honest, but I at least want to see if it's up to snuff amongst my fellow music nerds. Cheers!
  5. Hey folks, here's a cover I recently did of Bravely Default's "Land of Immortality." Would love to get feedback from the community on what ya'll think. Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9LxIwIRgFk

  8. Hey guys, it's been a long time, but here's an atmospheric Final Fantasy mashup of FF4's Prelude and FF6's Terra with dubstep and light glitch elements! This has been submitted to OCR on March 18, 2018. This was inspired by Stephen Anderson (stephen-anderson on soundcloud); it primarily uses bell and pad textures from Spectrasonics' Omnisphere 2; a Chapman Stick from Trilian; 4Front's TruePianos; and various FM sounds from my Zebra2 soundbank "FM Variations". Glitching was via Illformed's Glitch 2, and some of the remaining stuff was from LA Scoring Strings, Rhapsody Orchestral Percussion, and Serum. The solo violin was Embertone's Friedlander, highly recommend it!
  9. I decided to try a cover of this track to experiment transcribing and arranging source material slightly apart from what I'm usually comfortable with - this is mainly drawn from Masafumi Takada's Tokio Morishima theme from The Silver Case, with a passage from Erika Ito's DRIFT - Tokio's theme from the sequel, The 25th Ward. Any criticism would be incredibly helpful, but I'm particularly looking for feedback on especially problematic mixing and mastering issues - while I'm likely not returning to this particular piece, it'd be very useful to be more aware of the traps I'm falling into at the moment while working on future ideas.
  10. Just a simple piano arrangement of Dart's Theme. The title is clearly a bad pun based on the name of one of his Additions(Madness Hero). Yes, I feel bad. No, I don't regret it. Enjoy. Feedback is appreciated, as I think I may submit this at some point. Original:
  11. Hey guys, his is my cover of "Bonds of Sea and Fire" from Xenogears, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. This is also my entry to the #SoundoleChillOut2018 contest! I originally wanted to do something more "chill" but during the arrangement i felt the need to fill a bit the drums and to add a bit of EDM arpeggios or distorted lead guitar. So it's maybe not the most relaxing thing, but i tried to use a bunch of reverb to keep that "chill" vibe. So we are curently working on a XenoGears album with the Pixel Mixers, i'm working on 2 other Xeno songs for the album, but i wanted to use Soundole's contest to work on a 3rd one, cause, you know, i love that OST so much (it's my favourite Mitsuda's work). Been re listening to some Enigma (New Wave/Chill band) and they use lots of percussions and sometimes distortion guitar but the whole mix and atmosphere of the song makes it chill, that's what i tried to achieve here!
  12. Sup OCR? it's been a while eh? Got a new Rockman/Megaman EXE remix up and thought I'd share it. Hope y'enjoy! LIGHTING UP THE DARK - MMBN3 R-MIX

  14. Hello there! It's been a while (almost 2 years) since I've touched anything from Unreal or Unreal Tournament, so I thought t was about time to remix something quite underrated from my favourite videogame soundtrack ever, enjoy!
  15. Hey there OCR! I just finished one of my Cinematic covers, this time it's a Sonic the Hedgehog one!
  16. A metal remix of Death Adder from Golden Axe on the Sega Megadrive. One of my favourites from this soundtrack, couldn't resist going epic dark metal on it. Original track is below the remix, enjoy! (hopefully...) I am also looking for remix collabs and other music projects, if anyone is like-minded please message me. Original Track
  17. Updated contra music and match the progression of the song to about how far I can make it now without the code. Getting old now :p
  18. Hello all! Been coming here for years lurking about and finally decided to get back into music after finding some 7 year old mixes on a USB drive Whipped this together pretty quickly and it's a fair bit conservative but I like making the old songs that are more like a remaster with few liberties. Always liked the end music of Mario 2 so I chose that one to get my feet wet again! Feedback always welcome!!! Edit: I did the pads in the intro and bass with drums/percussion throughout. Left the main melody but slowed the tempo to something where I liked it Kinda simple for this place but hopefully still ok
  19. Here's a little duet I did with myself. Most of it is improvised on the spot, everything besides the harmony and theme of course. I'm not so sure about the audio quality. It sounds decent, but also not spectacular. Same with the mixing. Any opinions on this? Original tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dhzm7HJiMA&t=92s Thank yooouuuu!
  20. This is a Tribute Album to FFVI Music, featuring all the songs from the Original Soundtracks, rearranged and interpreted by 71 musicians from the Pixel Mixers Community! 58 songs, for 3h 25min of music This album features 3 “discs” called “Esper“, “Super Sanity” and “World’s Requiem“. We decided to share the songs in a way to create some “narrative arcs” between the songs, so the order is different from the OST. If you want a taste of our album before downloading, here is a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5VFEbGCy-o Or if you want to learn more about it, here is the article on our website: https://pixel-mixers.com/2018/05/02/final-fantasy-vi-worlds-requiem-tribute-album/ It's also directly downloadable here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9t93furgsrtrkua/Pixel+Mixers+-+World's+Requiem+[Final+Fantasy+VI].zip Hope you'll like it, OCR Senpai!
