The Phalanx Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 http://www.filmstalker.co.uk/archives/2008/07/tr2n_tron_2_trailer_online.html ...not sure if want. Quote
The Pezman Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 It seems a rarity for film directors and writers in this day and age to come up with a quality, ORIGINAL story that is not blatantly based on something else. Wall-E is the only recent exception I can think of. Quote
Antipode Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I think it's great. Tron 2.0 (the PC game) was vastly under-appreciated and I think any effort to revitalize Tron is fine by me. Come on, Tron is awesome and cheesy and 80s and great and it has Jeff Bridges. How can you go wrong? Quote
JH Sounds Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Tron 2.0 (the PC game) I guess that's what I was thinking of. Quote
The Coop Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Tron was a cheesy and mindless 80s movie, but it was a fun watch (like a lot of 80s movies). Bringing Jeff Bridges back for the sequel is cool, and hopefully it'll be as enjoyable as the first. Quote
Sinewav Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Yeah... not enough original movies. But at least it's a movie WORTH getting a sequel, instead of yet another Alien Vs. Predator or something. Quote

This, along with the original Star Wars series, was a movie from my childhood. I really don't want to see it messed up (again, like Star Wars). Quote
Poke'G Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I loved TRON. When I was little I would rent it all the time. I can't believe the sequel finally escaped Production Hell, and am more excited than ever. Quote
Antipode Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Yeah I dunno about that. I mean, it's cool they're doing a film score and all, but I can't see their style fitting the movie unless they're changing the style a lot from the original, or unless the score they make is very different from their popular music. Quote
Hum4n After All Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 They can do it. A music artist can do anything. I'm pretty sorta sure the score won't sound anything like their music. Sure it may be electronic but a different style for a Disney movie. BT has done movie scores and they don't sound anything like his music. Quote
Weirdboyscott Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Everybody confuses the new Tron movie with the Tron game they made a while back, and I don't blame them. The game is Tron 2.0 and since that name was already taken they had to name the new movie TR2N. Despite the stupid name I am glad theres going to be a sequel Tron, as it was an obscure part of my childhood. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Pixar handling this movie? I had heard that the live action bits in Wall-E were in preparation for TR2N. Quote

I had heard that the live action bits in Wall-E were in preparation for TR2N. From what I've heard, Tron 2.0 was to coincide with the movie. Unfortunately, the movie fell into production hell, but Disney and the Company making the game, was more than determined to bring the game out. As for Pixar handling the cg? That's really a good thing, if that's true. Quote
JH Sounds Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 omfg...Also the film is called Tron Legacy now. EDIT: Quote
Dj Mokram Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 The first TRON's music is stuck in my mind for some odd reason... I can't believe they're resurrecting that monster. So are they going to make it entirely in CG? Quote
Bleck Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I can't see their style fitting the movie I think two guys who dress like robots and wrote an entire album based around the idea of technology vs humanity are probably able to write a film score about a computer world Quote
HitoriJaNai Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I've seen the trailer they had at Comic Con for Tron: Legacy. So far, it doesn't look too bad... kinda good, actually. Also, for those who have seen it, does anyone else think Jeff Bridges looks a bit ominous? Like he's not a good guy anymore? Quote
BlackPhantom Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I never saw the original, but this could be good. Quote
JH Sounds Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Oh, and the HD trailer, for those who haven't seen it. Quote

Or just simply doesn't give damn anymore. Quote
Ninja-san Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Not the sequel I had in mind... Like what others have said, nothing in that trailer is original. The plugsuits arent exciting at all and I think thats whats making me sad ): Quote
Ferret Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I don't really give a damn whether original or not. I care about new Tron movie = fucking YES OVERRIDE Quote
