Urban Xperience Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Found this funny clip with Seth's approach of Mario's heroics. For those who love Family Guy, check this out. For those who don't, steer well clear... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXdFSWqJWkI Quote
lazygecko Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Seems like a generic Newgrounds flash parody with better presentation. Quote
Faulken Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I saw this and 3 or 4 others yesterday night on youtube. Does anyone know whether these sketches are exclusive youtube things, or whether they're in promotion of something, like an upcoming show? I couldn't seem to find solid info, but I'm guessing from the introduction and his youtube channel that he just decided to animate a couple of shorts for youtube. Possibly Family Guy cut-away jokes that didn't make the final cut lol. Reasonably amusing stuff anyway-be sure to check out the others. EDIT: also, seeing the creepy Burger King guy in Seth MacFarlane's animation style made my day. Sneak King ftw xD Quote
JH Sounds Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I have got to incorporate MacFarlane's "da-da-da, da-da daladala" starman theme into a mix somehow. Quote
EdgeCrusher Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 He's doing a web exclusive site with cartoons like this on it. I can't remember the url for it. Quote

Guy In Rubber Suit Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 A Mario parody? That's never been done before. Oh Seth MacFarlane you uncreative genius you! The animation in Super Mario Bros. was a lot better than that tripe. Quote
samurai_of_plague Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Seth McFarlane is a comedy genius That was probably the best two minutes I've had on the internet in awhile Quote
AibyoukaKyu Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 lol XD i found it mildly entertaining, and i have to agree that Peach deserved it. Sorry to all the haters out there, but, it was definitely better than most things on Newgrounds, and its always great to have pros making video-game cultured cartoons and references. Quote
JCvgluvr Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Seth McFarlane is a comedy genius That was probably the best two minutes I've had on the internet in awhile Aside from respecting your opinion, Seth is anything but a genius. He's great at using a lot of humor techniques invented by other people, but he's not very original. And this is coming from a guy that's seen all of the earlier seasons of Family Guy and some episodes of American Dad. But wait, he invented the flashback, m i rite? Quote

Here's a guy who hasn't heard of the Sphere of Influence. By now, all the basic concepts of what we find humorous have probably been employed in some form or another. Macfarlane does a great job of adding his own flavor to each situation, which is all a comedian can really do now. Quote
Strike911 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 You know, in the big scheme of things, Mario parodies are nothing new... ...but seeing it in that Family Guy style is really cool. I approve. I demand more mainstream(ish, in this case) Mario spoofs. Quote
lazygecko Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Seth in general relies too much on pop culture references just for the sake of it. That's not really humor. I think South Park touched on that in one episode with a Family Guy parody. Quote
Kizyr Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Heh, yeah, it was funny. I mean sure, I've seen better Mario-related jokes and parodies (Game Over comes to mind). But it's not like Seth's take is inherently bad. KF Quote
Archaon Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Ha ha ha. Ha ha. Ha. For those who love Family Guy, check this out. For those who don't, steer well clear... Oh god. Why didn't I listen. Quote

As the Bible says, "There's nothing new under the sun." Quote
q-pa Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 dat video is GONE Sorry, OCR, but our video is in another Internets. Quote
Poke'G Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 The animation in Super Mario Bros. was a lot better than that tripe. The animation perhaps, but definitely not the content. Sure the net is full of Mario parodies, but how many mainstream people have taken a crack at it? Quote
Synchronicity Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I think anybody who played and beat the original mario bros has felt the exact same way at some point. Princess shoulda put out. Sheeeeeeeeeeee................. Quote
TheHands Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Vid's been out for weeks. Same joke everyone else has told, only with Family Guy animation. It got half a smirk out of me when he called Bowser "dragon," but that's about it. He's a funny guy, but he needs to try different approaches once in a while. Quote
