Komoriuta Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Wow, thank you so much! This is really helpful. Just what I needed. Quote
aubrey Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 FYI, the tracker will be down from July 3rd-6th because of some electrical work in the area. Sorry for the inconvenience. The server will be back up as soon as possible. -Aubrey Quote
Nohbody Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Random question, should torrents take absof***inglutely forever to download? Its been 24 hours and VotL still has a predicted 4 hours left. My dl rate is 40kB/s with 7 seeds, is that normal? I hope not. Quote
aubrey Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Random question, should torrents take absof***inglutely forever to download? It depends on a lot of things. If you have the torrent port on your router blocked off, then yes, 40k is pretty good. If it is open like it should be, then you could be getting several hundred k a second. But that isn't guaranteed. It of course depends on the quality and number of the peers that you are connecting to. It also might depend on the quality of the networking equipment on your end. Downloads usually speed up over time. "If you can get several hundred K per second downloading from other torrents, you should be able to get several hundred K per second downloading from VotL." -Aubrey Quote
LastHour Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Um, hi everyone. I'm not new to the whole torrent thing, but every time I try to access it, your server times out and Firefox, IE, and Songbird all stop waiting for it to respond. Is it down/broken or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the help. Quote

aubrey Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 It was down for several days because of some power work that needed to be done in the datacenter. And for whatever reason the system didn't come back up on its own. However, it is back now. -Aubrey Quote
aubrey Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 FYI, I'm upgrading the disk array used by SuperTux this afternoon, so the tracker will be down for several hours. -Aubrey Quote
SplitHeavens Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Okay, I downloaded the torrent quite a long time ago, months ago, I haven't really got a chance to go over it or anything and now that I'm transferring songs, I realize that in the folder, it only contains 868 items. So am I missing more than a 100 songs? Should I retorrent the whole batch or is that how it was set up? Thanks for the reply. I also did a quick search about it and found nothing. Quote
atmuh Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 thats only because some of the songs from 1-1000 have been removed so in reality you have the full collection from 1-1000 even though you only have 868 songs Quote

Is there any way to get a hold of them or were they deleted really, really quickly? Quote
SoloGamer Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Some OCRemoveds can be found here For more info on why some mixes were removed, read this Quote
Maco70 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I've tried, I've read, I give up. How the hell do torrents work? I downloaded flashget, but after that I am lost, somebody HALP! Quote
Liontamer Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I've tried, I've read, I give up.How the hell do torrents work? I downloaded flashget, but after that I am lost, somebody HALP! Download a BitTorrent client. I use Vuze myself. Install whatever program you choose, then open/click on the torrent link like any other URL on the net. It should prompt that link being opened by the BT client and will proceed to download the files from that torrent. Quote
Schwaltzvald Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I downloaded flashget That's your biggest problem rigth there.... That is not a client used by torrent files.... Make a search for bit torrent clients such as Vuze or utorrent. Bit Tornado's not bad either. Quote
Doulifée Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 http://www.utorrent.com/ there is more than this one, test them and grab your favorite. Quote
Doulifée Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Some OCRemoveds can be found here i seriously need to finish uploading all of those. Quote
SLyGeN Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 uTorrent is the easiest to get used to. It's got a interface similar to Limewire/Kazaa/Ares, so there won't be much learning curve. Then go to thepira-- I mean, go to OCR's torrent section, and download/open the torrent file you're interested in with uTorrent. Quote
cryion Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 hello there, kinda new here and im sorry that i have to kickoff with a probably stupid question... downloaded the torrents of 1-1000 and 1001-1700 finished it today and was wondering why 1-1000 only consists of 868 files and 1001-1700 only consists of 691 files ? tia Quote
Rozovian Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Not the first time that's been asked. Here's a page about the torrents, and a quote from there: Some ReMixes have been removed from OC ReMix because of rules violations, by request, or some other reason. The torrents served here contain only the ReMixes that are currently published on OC ReMix. This means that if you download OCR00001 to OCR01700 you will end up with quite a bit less than 1700 mp3s. cryion Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 aah ok yea that makes sense. gotta say the site is a bit confusing sometimes, so i didnt find that part myself. anyways, thnx ! Quote
bjmyers Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I just finished downloading both torrents and noticed there is one remix included that is no longer on the site: Pilotwings 64 - ClearSkies - Remix of "Birdman" by Scott Peeples. Just thought I would bring that to somebody's attention. (My apologies if this is old news.) Quote
