DarkeSword Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 So, it's started out as a harmless little comment on Twitter. Then it got picked up by a gaming blog. Now it's a full blown movement. OverClocked ReMix wants to do the music for Sonic the Hedgehog 4. If you've got Twitter, click here: http://bit.ly/ocr4sonic4 We need you guys to pimp out OCR's sonic remixes on Twitter, using the hashtag #ocr4sonic4. We need logos, and graphics, and anything else you can draw: OCR-tan and Sonic hanging out; Sonic wearing the OCR headphones; anything you can think of! Pimp it out on your radio shows, tell your friends, spread the word! Post on Facebook, MySpace, MyFace, SpaceBook, whatever! Just get the word out! And to any of you naysayers: even if nothing comes of it, it never hurts to try. After all, who would have thought 5 years ago that OCR would be doing the music for a Street Fighter game? But that happened, and it was great. So let's see if we can make this happen too. EDIT: There seems to be some confusion as to what we're trying to do here! If Sega gives us a Sonic 4 gig, we're not going to be doing remixes! Our intention would be to do an ORIGINAL soundtrack.
Chernabogue Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Man, this is AWESOME ! Let's make video game history again !
WillRock Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 OCR do the soundtrack to Sonic 4? Fuck yeah. Would be the most epic thing this site has ever done
WillRock Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Btw, i'm assuming this would be composing new music for the game if this happened right? Or a mix of both remixes and originals? I know you guys can't possibly know yet, but its something to think about I reckon

SonicSynthesis Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Create a Facebook group so everyone can join. I already made a Twitter account just for this I'd say both original remixes and new stuff should be used. You never know, you might make a track as iconic as Green Hill
Hy Bound Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 This would be so sick! I'm interested in doing a track.
JH Sounds Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Create a group and I'll join on facebook. What he said.
halc Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 i'd do anything to be a part of this (if it was to happen)
WillRock Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 i'd do anything to be a part of this (if it was to happen) Ditto, being a part of this would be probably the coolest thing ever...
Subz1987 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The game's supposed to be released this summer, so isn't it a little late for Sega to consider this? I'm sure they have part of the music completed or planned already
SonicSynthesis Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The game's supposed to be released this summer, so isn't it a little late for Sega to consider this? I'm sure they have part of the music completed or planned already Well it's only part 1 that's released in summer so they could get in on the later parts
Murmeli Walan Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The game's supposed to be released this summer, so isn't it a little late for Sega to consider this? I'm sure they have part of the music completed or planned already They could always do a DLC alternate album, like Capcom did with the digital Marvel vs. Capcom 2 release.
The Legendary Zoltan Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Same opinion here as everyone else. I love Sonic music and TOTALLY want to do a track. In fact, I even happen to have a good one in the making that would make a great Sonic song. I'll mention this stuff on Facebook.
The Author Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hey, if they decide to release Sonic 1 using that engine they may come knocking... might as well show an interest.
lazygecko Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 They should just get Simon Stålenhag to do the entire thing.
atmuh Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 They should just get Simon Stålenhag to do the entire thing. speaking of this is there anywhere that has tons of genesis style chiptunes i can never find any also wasnt there a little audio clip from the game somewhere on the sonic 4 site that was in the original genesis style? i was really hoping they were gonna just stick with that all throughout
Salluz Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I've gotta step my game up. Let's walk in MJ's footsteps and make some FUNKY SHIT!
Xenon Odyssey Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Wonk Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I don't believe this is goin' to work, but still, I love the idea and definitevely would like to make a track.
Matt E. Waldman Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Friggin' awesome. I hope Sega seriously considers this. I would soooo love to participate in something like this.
