This album came along as a result of this: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=28108

And then a bunch of musicians took it and ran with it.

Thanks to my co-director The Author; our musicians Darkesword, AaronD, Zeroboros, Swann, Chernabouge, Nintenjoe 64, Rozovian, Brandon Strader, The Coop, Gario; and our artist Suzume for coming together and delivering this album.

The concept behind this album:

Hurry! The Final Fantasy X Impossible Remix Album is a remix album of the song Hurry! by Junya Nakano,

who helped compose the Final Fantasy X soundtrack. The songs are done in various genres and styles

to showcase exactly how much flexibility the artists have when interpreting one song.

It's minimalism (like, from the 60's minimalism). Yes, the genre really does average at roughly 30min a song, so mine's short in comparison, believe it or not.

I suspect it's going to really be a hit-or-miss track, but I'm fine with that.

Also, WOOT! It's out for the public to enjoy! Glad to be a part of it .

Yeah, I totally got a Phillip Glass vibe out of your song (but then again, he is my only exposure to minimalism before your song.) And while I won't say it's my favorite, I like how it's a take on a remix we don't get often.

Having been exposed to the minimalist music in civ iv between critting and complaining about your track and now, Gario, I can appreciate it more. I'm even considering doing something similar.

Just listening now, In love with DarkSword's version, dont think it could get better.

The percs are great and the Zanarkand theme fits in really well, more then i'd guess it would if someone told me the two where going to be mixed together.

AaronD's version feels very emotional when the strings really pick up, and love when the synth kicks in, (I want that refill!!!)

The party in Zanarkand is good, was scared at first it was going to be a cheesy club mix wannabe but then I was like "Yay!" It was really good. the only issue i have is the piano was too paned to the right and I guess it coulda been pulled forward a lil more, it sounded really good, just wish I could have heard it more!

For those about to run, Hmmm not to my taste but very well done for those into that genre of music.

Rozo's version made me smile at first, and then my smile kept growing, it was really funky!

Ethnic rush is by far the best use of percs Ive heard in a long time! The winds were a nice touch!

Coops version was really good, loved his take on it, just wish the samples where of a better quality, sound alot like a midi to me but my far my fave take on the song!

Garios's was a strange take on the song, but very nice

I was talking to someone online about this album actually, he is in my World of Warcraft guild but doesn't know much about OC ReMix or even Final Fantasy X.

I like the album but it could have been cool to see more site support for it. Like maybe another mixpost or two from it. :3 You know, to spread the awareness of its release and help bring some people to listen to it and stuff. I'm very happy to have been a part of this album.

Hmm... Wasn't Darkesword's track supposed to be posted with the release?

Whenever it's posted (or if it's posted) this'll get quite a bit more site publicity, I suspect.

Well a lot of people were busy with PAX so we'll see if that'll happen later on. I hope it does both because Darkesword made a good track and because it'll bring this album some more attention.

This album was a lot of fun, especially because of its interesting concept. I'm hoping that there will be a little more interest generated over the next little while when people start filling up their music players with songs for school!

Part of the reason this didn't get the promotion when it released was because Dave was at PAX, but also because there was already a schedule of rmixes to be posted before we rolled out FF5 Wind, which was really long overdue. We'll try to promote this a little more after the FF5 stuff dies down.

Aaah... Another (more important) album release. That's perfectly understandable (especially since it IS FFV ). And, of course, the regular release schedule.

In that case, we'll all just need to wait patiently for DJP to post us then, won't we?

Yeah, but I think DS's song was going to go with the release (obviously there were some complications, so it didn't happen).

I don't know the details on the posting order - DS's was the only one I was sure of. Your song might be posted, too (that's what LT said, anyway). I can't say for sure, though, since I'm not LT.

I am sure that my song won't be posted, though, lol.
