Liontamer Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/02/mcdonalds-mcrib-sandwich_n_777786.html http://www.kleincast.com/maps/mcrib.php Hooray! It's back for another 6 weeks. Damn straight. It's also the return of my favorite OCR thread title ever. Gonna go buy one after work & after voting (for LIBS). I'm sold, son. As much as I love ribs, there's one part that I hate: the ribs. Those bones are taking up precious meat space! That's why I've always loved the McDonald's McRib Sandwich. You see it's shaped like a slab of ribs, but it's just the good parts. And possibly the bad parts -- I don't know what's in it, but it's delicious. ...It's like a phoenix rising from the ashes! Then being deboned, mechanically separated, and reformed into a tasty sauce-slathered McPatty. McRIB! Quote
Level 99 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Who needs voting or health when you have pork-molded-into-riblike-shapes on buns! Quote
OceansAndrew Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( there would be more sad faces, but the limit is 10. Quote
Charlie's Angel Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I've never had the chance to try a McRib. is it really as good as people who drives miles and miles and miles out of their way to eat one make it out to be? Quote
Dyne Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 If I had the ability to like threads, I'd like this one. Also, McRib baby!! Quote
Murmeli Walan Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I've never had the chance to try a McRib. is it really as good as people who drives miles and miles and miles out of their way to eat one make it out to be? Impossible. Every single person in the world right now lives within 3 and a half miles of a McDonalds. This has been proven by science. Quote
Nase Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 never been gone around here. i ate one 15 years ago and had to throw up a bit later. didn't taste all that bad though... Quote
Level 99 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Krusty: Look, uhh, about the Ribwich...there aren't gonna be any more. The animal we made 'em from is now extinct. Homer: The pig? Otto: The cow? Krusty: You're WAY off. Think smaller...think more legs... Quote
Charlie's Angel Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I knew people who used to do that Quote
Strike911 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I'm scared of the McRib. Utterly terrified. Now please excuse me while I go and eat a pansy ass salad. Quote
big giant circles Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I used to love the McRib. I used to like hot dogs. I used to like a lot of meat products in general. Then I stumbled across one of those "here's how meat is mechanically separated, then re-flavored because it's nasty and dyed so it doesn't resemble the stuff it actually came from" videos and I just haven't quite recovered... Don't get me wrong I'll still eat meat, but man, that stuff haunts you. Quote

Monobrow Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Yeah... kinda yuck, it may taste good after a bite or two but after that just... I can't finish a McDonald's anything anymore, and some rant about meat and typical girl stuff anti-meant n some soup n potatoes n somethin... Quote
Brandon Strader Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 HEY. I am going to buy 5 OFTHESE............. and eat them. At once. Also meat is made for eating. If you don't believe me, ask a cow. DURRR Quote
Charlie's Angel Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I've never been sick at a McDonalds. My stomach usually hurts more after a burger from a casual restaurant like TGIFridays or Gondoliers and I end up paying 3 times more for it than I ever would at Mickey Ds. Maybe its just that going out to eat in this economy is overrated anyway. Quote

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with eating meat in general (though I do believe it should be eaten in moderation LIKE MOST THINGS). Here's a funny clip I saw recently from the Food Revolution http://www.wimp.com/nuggetexperiment/ I don't really have a problem with McDonalds. They actually use real chicken meat for their nuggets and sandwiches. But lately the whole mechanically separated and artificially flavored thing just doesn't really appeal to me much. Quote
Less Ashamed Of Self Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) I've never been sick at a McDonalds. My stomach usually hurts more after a burger from a casual restaurant like TGIFridays or Gondoliers and I end up paying 3 times more for it than I ever would at Mickey Ds. Maybe its just that going out to eat in this economy is overrated anyway. This is because the McDonalds robots make you anti-nausea laden, lab-tested, uniformly, impossibly-cheap & ridiculously meat-like perfectly circular beef discs. TGIF has real people flipping real formed meat patties that are frozen at nearby plants/suppliers and held unsafely or past their expiration date, they're lazily undercooked and hurriedly put between a bun to keep your table from getting pissy and served to you anyway. Most chain restaurants are completely horrible in one way or another. Fake robot food or incompetent real food. Pick your poison. Edited November 4, 2010 by Less Ashamed Of Self Quote
KyleJCrb Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I had a Big Mac come back up with wrong way about 10 years ago. I've sworn off eating anything except ice cream from McDonald's (which is hard to screw up because it's not usually made on-site) ever since. Quote
