ad.mixx Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 OMG!!! AE?? YEEEEEEEEEEEES! ))))) As with all of his stuff I love this. This mix is insanely crazy, and I love it. I dig the piano coming in around 2:00 a lot, along with the use of the choir (as a big fan of metroid music ) Near the end I feel like I'm having a seizure. Again, I love it Quote
AMT Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) SUPER MEAT BOY! These mixes are timed perfectly, I just beat the Light World last night. Next up is the Dark World o_o This is a great mix. A fresh take on some of my favorite themes in the game. EDIT: Just FYI, the "Remix Detail Page" link at the top goes to the wrong mix. (Fixed. - LT) Edited January 7, 2011 by Liontamer Quote
Capt. Stupidity Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 WARNING!! Those prone to muscle spasms, seizures, or other involuntary actions should stay away from this remix. This track made me feel like I was imploding to infinity. Loved it!! Quote
Hy Bound Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 This is awesome! Great, powerful, explosive beat and really great DnB moving bassline. Quote
Benjamin Briggs Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) this is by far my favorite of AE, er, A_rival's remixes to date it's quite simply perfect in every way. a lot of the piano stuff reminds me of protricity, and the whole thing just blows my mind with its total assault of infectious exploding professionalism seriously stellar work. I can't decide which is more of an honor: the fact that I'm on the special edition OST, or the fact that I'm on an album with fucking AE ...we'll call it a tie Edited May 17, 2013 by Benjamin Briggs Quote
joe_cam Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 That just happened. Holy balls this song is fantastic. Quote
NegimaSonic Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 this is just a wild and intense ride from beginning to end... Quote
DarkSim Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 What just happened... this is incredible stuff! I need to check out AE's back catalogue now cos this is outrageously good. I don't even know what to say, there's so much amazing production in here, and the beat's got such a nice swing to it. Massive tune. Quote
Master_Yoshi Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 D'Oh! That was the sound I made after waiting for the track to start proper, and then just a *powrightinthekisser* Hell is probably my favourite track from the OST, and this does pretty well with it, and mashes in some nice used needle work! Sweet stuff. On a side note. This OST can never get enough love here at OCR. I will officially never complain about there being too much Super Meat Boy coverage. Not that it matters, but my appetite for the meat is insatiable. Mmmmm.... meat meat goodness. Meat. Quote
Benjamin Briggs Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 my appetite for the meat is insatiable Quote
Flexstyle Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Is it just me, or has the bar for electronica at OCR just been RAISED SKY HIGH? It's about freaking time someone did that! Killer work--one of the most cohesive and punchy mixes, especially electronic, I've heard in a while here. While I'm unfamiliar with the source (I know, I'm a horrible person), this is a completely face-meltingly-awesome mix. Kudos. Plus, it's reminiscent of some of my favorite artists, namely Skrillex and Noisia. Quote

I hear Noisia all over the place with some fidgety Skrillex in there for good measure. Awesome tune all around. A+++ would listen again Quote
Emunator Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Yeah, I was gonna say this has a sound hugely reminiscent of Noisia, but it looks like others have already pointed it out for me though I will second the motion though, that this is right up there with a lot of professional-grade D&B I've been hearing lately. Unbelievably good mix Quote
Harmony Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 dizzzzam! Even on my little ear buds here at work this track is THICK! Loving it, man. Loving it. Quote
CC Ricers Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Damn, this lives up to its name because it is meaty indeed. Didn't think such an aggressive punchy sound like this would be attempted for OCR, much less direct posted. I want to drop this in a DJ set so badly. KICK, SNARE, it's unbelivable. Quote
Blake Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Wow, the synthwork for this was balls to the wall. Awesomely mixed. Love it! Quote
DjCUTMAN Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Great spinning with you last weekend! MAN this track owns, can't believe I just heard it for the first time >B] Quote
Martin Penwald Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 This track sounds downright evil. Absolutely great. Love the piano, too. Most of the time, it makes for a creepy atmosphere, but sometimes, when it plays something like a jingle on its very own, it lightens the mood considerably (e.g. at 3:00). Quote
Crulex Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Oooh, nice change of pace! The ghastly choir and piano that slides right into evil aggresive wubs and hard hitting beats....that was one of the best intros I've heard in a while. The ReMix is like a dancing chainsaw, that's how gritty it sounds. Yep, dancing chainsaw. That's how I describe it. Damn, I do love a dirty mix every now and then, and this is one dirty mix. Quote
Marmiduke Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Yowza! Uh... yowzer! This is a relentlessly awesome flexing of production muscle. Nails the spooky vibe on center, but it's kind of hard to notice with so many amazing things going on left, right, on top of and underneath. No matter where you look, you're going to be impressed. This mix is crazily expert. Not used to THESE levels of electronica craftsmenship around here. It makes everything else seem... underpowered. Quote
