DarkeSword
Here's the thing though; I don't really care if the song has vocals or not. My personal preference is and always be instrumental music, but I'm willing to set that aside for this album. I just don't want people to get the impression that this is supposed to be an album of Vocal Love Songs.

I meant to be more specific to the way the music itself for those songs are written. Just to give an idea to everyone what it might sound like depending on the style chosen. Still, anything's possible.
Nick Hyral
Yeah, we do. But I have this idea man, it's gonna be awesome.SERIOUSLY. -- As for Malon: A friend of mine suggested that to me, but I do want to keep the tracklist down. Plus Ocarina of Time already has two themes. If this thing really takes off and we make progress really fast, I might consider adding a track or two. Someone else might have covered the Malon theme.. But I'm too lazy to read anything.. how about instead of it being OoT.. Give Majora's Mask a bit of love and use the song for that. =P
Dhsu
You know, if OoT were to be redone with modern graphic capabilities, those faries would be hot as holy hell. zomg bewbs
Jillian Aversa
I don't know what makes you think that doing something in a "Freezepop" style automatically means the lyrics will be farcical. A lot of Freezepop songs are actually quite serious, and feature mature themes. (And yes, they have love songs, too.) Funky Monkey Love is downright pornographic... That's definitely not what we're going for. I have had in mind to do the vocals from Saria's point of view. If that's not what you're looking for, we'll just submit the remix to OCR as initially planned. Not exactly dying to wait a year or more for it to be released anyway. However, I think it might help to clarify some things if you edited your first post (and possibly even thread title). Describing Link as a "pimp" who has all the "ladies of the Legend of Zelda" lusting after him isn't the most serious language, and would probably explain why so many people have been suggesting silly ideas... Tingle and all. XD
Fishy
Also, go to zircon's website and listen to ROMance and if thats not the sort of "love song" type thing you're going for then thats cool, cause we were gonna remix this anyway. Also, this is the lost woods theme... its like... the silliest theme on the planet, so I don't see how else it could work to be honest. I'll reserve judgment until I hear the track.
Hale-Bopp
You know, I'm a softy for a good love song. I really am. Honestly, I'm rather hopeful some of you with guitar experience would get together with someone who can either program percussion really well, or can actually play drums (like Beatdrop). I can supply drums if needed. I have a v-drum kit hooked up via midi with some great samples I recently purchased. I have much experience in performing on my kit. I can also supply lyrics and/or vocals if anyone's interested.

Cyan_Ide
I realize it is a bit on the early side, but I'd be willing to volunteer graphical design services to the cause if need be.
PassivePretentiousness
just because an original is silly doesnt mean that the remix has to be silly It's much harder to adapt certain songs than others. When it is done, it is awesome, but it is questionable how well anyone could turn lost woods into a serious love song.

Also a very good point. Its true that freezepop style sounds suitable to a silly song when you look at it as a silly song. I totally see how you could do a powerful and gripping synthpop track (see shael riley.) But I feel that you may be a little too close minded about the situation. If you dont look at Lost woods as simply a silly song, you could take it very seriously in plenty of other fashions. Below is an example of the type of song I'd imagine Lost woods to be if it were a lady's tale about the one who got away. ( Link totally gets with ruto in that game, we all know it.) http://john.trenthian.com/lostwoods.mp3 (apologies, it is an improvisation full of sloppy unrehearsed playing.) this isnt to say I want to take on lost woods cause I dont. I'm just saying we should be just as open to the slightly sweet version of Saria's tale, as we are to the saccharine pop fest version. We all know how powerfully Jill can emote with her voice, so whatever you guys come up with, I'm looking forward to it. Just be open minded and let creativity guide you in the right direction. Fishy
Well me and Jill have been planing to do a Freezepop style song of Lost Woods for quite some time, and I had already started it before this project came along, so I was just trying to argue for that style. I wasn't suggesting its impossible to make it into something un-silly, as you've just proven, it isn't. Also, lost woods is pretty much a ripoff of Jupitar by Holst, and thats a serious piece (even though its called bringer of Jovity).

Jupiter is dramatic Jollity. The piece wrenches the joy from you physically. It's almost like a bittersweet victory song. Anything based off of it can definitely be thrown back to the serious side. DarkeSword
Thanks Trenthian. That's a really nice sketch, and a very good example of where that song can go, and the kind of adaptation I'm looking for.

When it is done, it is awesome, but it is questionable how well anyone could turn lost woods into a serious love song. after thinking about this for only a couple of minutes it could be pulled off rather easily i think it could sound somewhat similar to ds's new tattered slippers remix be predominantly flute and be in 6/8, kinda waltzy, but with some slower parts the speed changes could be used to tell the story of saria's and link's relationship unfortunately all i can do musicwise is hum so this is nothing but an idea so do what you want all oh hey look i didnt even read down to see that trenthian threw down a nice idea gg man
Jaswald
Shouldn't the community finish the projects it already has going. There are a few projects that are actually in the projects forum and a large handfull of developing projects.

Unfortunately that is at the sole discretion of a project coordinator, and the people behind the project. Because there are more mixers than projects, more projects will form. You shouldnt be negative about getting more music. yeah it takes some projects longer to happen than others, but in the end its usually worth it. Sil
I'd be willing to contribute something along the lines of an Italian aria if there's someone willing to lend their vocals to the task. Ave Marin? One can only dream...
