Tensei
I'm stunned.. He wrote pieces with great feeling and emotion and his piano playing was some of the best I've heard around here. R.I.P.
anosou
Rest in peace Reuben. My condolences to his loved ones. I didn't know him very well but this is a great loss.
FiremanJoe
I was shocked to read this. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. What of all the years composing ahead of him? This is a great loss. Rest in peace Reuben, you will not soon be forgotten.
DCT
Definitely an unfortunate situation, not only to lose someone so young, but to lose a respected member of our humble little community. I had the pleasure of speaking with Reu back in the day when I was recruiting artists for SoundTempest (when it was still up)...he was always a cool guy IMO, and he'll certainly be missed. Atomicfog
... His music will live on as long as I am around.
Sinewav
Found out about this last night. I was totally stunned. I never really talked to him, but on the other hand, it's amazing how close you can feel to someone through their music. He was by far one of my favorite remixers, and possibly on of my favorite musicians. My heart goes out to his family and friends. But even if he had never been anything more than an amazing musician, this is still a huge loss. Not to downplay his death, but while it is a huge tragedy, we should also be grateful that the other 17 people from the boat are safe. Urban Xperience
R.I.P. Reuben... really enjoyed your piano-playing. Didn't know you much either but your music was known to many. Legend of the Snake indeed... http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01322/

Arek the Absolute
I don't know who would do the legwork on this, but is there anyway we can help the Kee family, be it financially, or just with well-wishes? I am certain that there are some frequenters of OCR that live in Singapore that could help us out with this. This is definitely an idea I would love to help make happen. I would really love for his family to know that he was (and always will be) loved by so many people across the world.
VinnyJ
The word spread quick, I posted about him at a Mugen forum where he's pretty popular as well.

big giant circles
We're discussion some sort of tribute in #ocrjudges. Dave hasn't been around since the bad news to weigh in yet, so I'm sure he'll probably have a good idea as well. As for me, I was thinking if someone could mashup his remixes and make a music video with tasteful footage from the respective games along with some quotes from his reviews threads, and perhaps some quotes from this thread capped off with a photograph or two and not only made it available online but somehow managed to get a HQ DVD-quality version to his family. For his family to know how many lives he touched with his personality and music would be a far greater gift than any amount of money, IMO. What do y'all think? Arek the Absolute
Something along those lines would be great. Anything really sounds fine, as long as his family is shown that he is loved by us here and others across the world and that we truly wish them well through all of this. Sinewav
Is there some non-musical way people here can contribute? I'd love to show my support to his family somehow, but I honestly don't think my musical skills would be remotely close enough to do him justice. He really was phenomenal pianist and remixer. Amayirot Akago
This is most definitely a terrible loss; not only for the remixing community, but for his family and friends as well. Reuben may have been taken from us, but his music and our memories of him will live on forever.
