If no problem with that, I'd be glad to join this album too, for the first time. After all, there's no strict quality controls or anyone being nitpicky with mixing on this one, right? :D You say any source is okay, even if not VGM, but just asking: are original compositions allowed, too? Because it sounds more tempting to try something original but influenced by good weather (aka cold and snow haha). If this is only about arrangements/remixes of other things, the source I'm thinking of is "Ary" from Tales of Phantasia. The original is slow and chill as heck, but I'd love to try something a lot faster and upbeat, in the style of the so-called "doujin" artists from the 2000s like I-Chu, Akineko, U-Gen, etc. I can totally see the vibe fitting this style and still fitting the theme, kinda sounding like some weirdo is having fun running with a skate all around the streets of an empty city because everyone is busy at their homes with family and stuff, just a funny concept I'm toying with mentally :D

OMG - I've mainly been a lurker, but I lurked lots in the early 2000s, and that OCR RPG is so fun! I get most of the references so far, and man it takes me back...thanks for providing this!

It's July 6th. It's not time for Summer or heat, it's time to think snow! The chilly air! The tiny ice patch on the driveway that you didn't see and ended up making you fall on your ass. Yes indeed, it's time to start recruiting for the next An OverClocked Christmas album! We've got over five months before the due date, so let's see how many people are interested in taking part for the seventeenth entry in this (usually) happy, seasonal project. As per the norm, this project is open to any and all OCR members, regardless of whether you're a posted remixer or not. You want info? I got your info right here... When's The Project Deadline?- December 20th, 2025 at 11:59 P.M. EST. This is now a REALLY hard, non-negotiable deadline, since it's very close to Christmas. We've had lots of last-minute entries and updates over the years and, to be perfectly honest, it shouldn't be that way. With months of time, having to hold off as long as possible for people made things pretty hectic for myself and Dyne in the past. Treating this project like a college paper that doesn't get worked on until the last minute got annoying rather quickly when it kept adding up to lots of hurrying year after year, with last second updates to artwork and retagging/reuploading things. As such, you have until one minute before midnight EST on December 20th to get me the final WAV or MP3 of your song. After that, you're shit outta luck until next year. I need time to do everything, including possibly making a little website to host this project if Dyne isn't online for one reason or another. So this deadline's set in stone... PERIOD. What Information Does The Coop Need?- When you send me your final versions, I'll need what name you want to use (real or remixer handle) and the name of your remix. Please, come up with something when you send me links to the file, rather than just giving me a file called "ff6-owa-v3f.mp3" and nothing else. You don't have to tell me what song you're remixing, but I do need a name for the remix. Plus, if you have a website you'd like to pimp, supply that as well and I can add it to the MP3 tags. What Can Be Remixed?- Any song, really. Traditional Christmas carols, video game music, published music by a signed artist, music from TV/cartoons/anime... whatever gets your heart racing and into that Christmas spirit. This isn't an official OCR album, so you can draw from more sources than just VGM. Plus, you can take a non-Christmas tune, like the Main Theme from Space Harrier, Stage 6 Mission 2 from Metal Head, or I Defend STM from Truxton II, and turn it into a Christmasy one. So know that it's not limited only to songs that are Christmas-like to begin with. All that said, do keep in mind that if you want to submit your song to OCR later, you'll need to keep this site's guidelines in the back of your mind. But for this album, you can take it in just about any direction you want and get as crazy as you'd like (but please, no "Silver Bells" done in farts or something). How Long Can My Song Be?- As long as you want it to be. There are no restrictions on this, so whether it's 1:30, or 9:51 with a five minute guitar solo ala Metallica, it's all good. But again, if you want to submit your song to OCR later, keep their guidelines in mind. What Genres Can I Remix In?- Again, the door's wide open here. Rap, Metal, Pop, Piano-solo, Orchestral, Jazz, 8/16-bit, Barber Shop Quartet, A capella, Death Polka... it's up to you where you want to take it. What Format Should I Submit My Song In?- WAV or an MP3 of at least 192KB/s quality. I'll be tagging the MP3s and making MP3s from any submitted wavs, so you don't have to worry about that. But, if you'd like your website to be in the MP3 comments section, be sure to give it to me when you submit your song. I love how this mix breathes! Like, there's a lot going on, yet I feel like I can hear each element clearly, and each reverb tail rings out just the right amount.

Project update: Album's done, there are no more loose ends (When it was submitted in October there were one or two items that I was tying up behind the scenes). It's now entirely up to OCR and their staff to create the package, trailer, etc., and deliver some fantastic music for y'all. Thanks for your immense patience, it will be worth it!

Katamari Stars 2025-07-05 1201.mp3 - Added vibraphone and organ leads to make this more dynamic (and get rid of that filthy piano lead). This will set the stage for better arranging. - Added vocal pad in C section with record scratch. Reminds me of Katamari. - Fixed some drum timings. Still more to be done. - Added reverb bus for all instruments and adjusted as necessary. I like how it feels more like a live arrangement with the added reverb bus. Further adjustments may be needed. - Added keytracking to EQ for better definition of individual instruments. Overall adjusted EQ, especially of higher frequencies. - Overall finished arrangement? It is very dynamic, and I tried to keep the idea of "change it every 8 bars" at the forefront.

So happy with all the Smithy love lately. This ReMix is fantastic, putting some much needed energy and aggression into the chill theme as the guitars wail on. The SMB3 airship cameo was nice as well. Been looking forward to hearing this for a long, long time and it was a million times worth the wait, especially that breakdown and menacing bit near the end from 2:36 to 3:00. Recommended as hell.

I love how well these two themes just fit together perfectly. The funky and groovy bits of Death by Glamour keeping up with the driving force of Smithy's theme and making everything jazzy was awesome to hear. Great mix of two of my favorite killer robots.

@Nase I searched my hard drive and maybe a good thing I'm a bit of a hoarder as I did actually have a track of yours from ORC5 (ORC5_Nasenmann_-_KurdDreams.) Not sure if you have this one, but I'll link it here for you. It's actually pretty cool to know you made that one as a lot of the old prc and orc tracks really formed me in a way -- I was in highschool when most of them were released -- and when I hear them they feel like they're a part of me -- including this track. Remembering Mark Snow. 👽🛸🎶

Well, good news regarding my track: I already managed to assemble an awesome team of performers to join! 2 guitarists (for rhythms and leads separately), bassist, drummer, clarinetist, keyboardist... that'll be like a real great band. I got some progress with the video already, which, sure, not a requirement for the album at all haha but I'm doing it more of my own, as a kind of concept thing to better show the ideas. Basically inspired by classic horror movies in general and Nightmare on Elm Street in particular. All is going really well so far and everyone involved has plenty of time, so unless shit happens last minute, I have some good expectations with it. Excited to see what everyone else is cooking as well :)

Not exactly the genre you are looking for, but I did an arrangement of the same source a few months ago. It's more of a pop punk with smooth intro and lo-fi interlude, tho haha. More Illusion of Gaia covers (or of other Quintet games) are always welcome, in all kids of styles, moods and whatever. These games deserves ALL the love! Hopefully someone else will make something closer to what you are asking for :)
