  1. Thanks, Thirdkoopa! Anyone else need some horn from @JohnStacy for their tracks? ---- @Starphoenix has given me an update of Cyber Attack using the feedback he got. Sounding better all the time! @Thirdkoopa has given me permission to post his WIP, Contemplating the End (working title). This is a very interesting slow jazz take on Area 6 ... brimming with performer potential! @classic_gamer_76 and @TheChargingRhino have sent me another WIP of Records 1 including some work by @Pichu's Dad. Sounds great, love the variety of instrument leads here! Check them out, let us know what you think!

  2. It's fine. It would have been nice if you'd done an ending that didn't cut off so abruptly, but it's fine.

  3. I know I sent my entry and it's more varied this time. Is it good enough for the album?

  4. Wow, the ambience in the intro and the rain returning in the outro was amazing, and the light jazzy tropical groove of this ReMix is so damn pleasant, I'm loving this. This is a really good mix of two great themes from some of the MMX games, I dig it.

  5. Poll is a bit random. My suggestion was simply to look at what worked in the case of OCR compos when it comes to drawing contestants/voters, and apply some of that magic to your compo. Again, the formula of the PRC is fine and doesn't need to go through an existential crisis. Remixing a game instead of one specific source would make voting unmanageable imo. The source-selection skip/switch system suggested by Overkillius sounds pretty good to me. Having more than one option to submit a song is great, but allowing folks to vote here might do some good too. Most importantly, if you want more people entering the compo don't forget to talk about PRC outside of this thread. Ultimately, the goal is to find ways to up participation and minimize "XX days extension" and "winner by default" scenarios as much as possible. The Metal Gear, Front Mission and Ace Combat series feature some of my fav VGM out there. Excellent, yet criminally under-remixed soundtracks really. Were you by chance talking about the One Hour Compo? Got started with this in 09 and indeed it was great to meet for this weekly, fun little exercise, talking music with people in irc, the sense of urgency to complete a song in time and then listening to everyone's entries live at the end. Not sure the logistics of it would translate well to PRC though, with the time zone differences and small number of contestants/entries. Could be worth looking into... That's what the MIDI file is here for. Unless of course you prefer to translate the source by ear. Sadly I won't have time to submit a bonus entry this round, but I'll be sure to vote.

  6. This source is a real booger to analyze in any meaningful way! Cool beans!

  7. @Koriantor Yes.... actually, we've built out a "remix_attachments" table and the requisite functionality, we just need to upload what we've got, incorporate it into the front-end of the site, and do a call for sheet music, MIDI files, etc. from artists. The same mechanism is also intended to eventually provide lossless FLAC versions, when we're sure we can handle it. @Dhsu We can & will centralize everything here & host it ourselves, permanently... and we're close to doing so.... what we could use right now is someone willing to gather everything in one place for us so that when we ARE ready to roll, we can pull it all in. Any assistance in this regard is greatly appreciated!

    Workshop Skills Listing

Thanks to feedback from @Daniel Caton (thanks) & OCR staff, we've made some substantial improvements to the workshop skills pages, e.g.: http://ocremix.org/workshop/skill/studio-one http://ocremix.org/workshop/skill/vocals-female http://ocremix.org/workshop/skill/french-horn Changes are as follows: Switched to bootstrap tables Switched to font-awesome icons "join date" is now "joined" and is just the year "last visited" is now "visited" "real name" moved under user name user name larger "real name" column replaced with "skills / tools" column, including DAW & instrumental Secondary sort added on visited (sorts by collab status first, then visited date, DESC) Made additional instrument links clickable Made DAW links clickable icons The last four items are bold since I think they represent the biggest improvement - now, when looking at members who have specified one skill, you can see the other skills they have specified as well, and you can click on those skills to jump around a bit. Plus fancypants DAW icons. And the sorting based on last visited (most recent first) gives you a good idea of who's more likely to be around/available. Feedback appreciated, although this was kind of a "burst" of energy for these specific pages, knowing full well I might not get back to updating them for awhile given more pressing concerns GET COLLABORATIN' Y'ALL!!

  11. Absolutely LOVE IT! Amazing jobs! I will admit I'm not a big fan of Boss/JP to begin with, but I did like that version better. And then Metallic Madness and Collision Chaos are great! If you all got back together, maybe you could cover Sonic The Fighters/Sonic Champions?
