  2. Very good atmosphere here, more good stuff than bad so Its easier if I just name the stuff I wasn't grooving to....In descending order from most noticable 1) 2:09 the gating just really pulls me out...I know what your trying to do and it should work, but Ive never been able to pull it off successfully, maybe something... faster? less sinewave-ish? 2) 0:27 the toy-box/ kalimba pluck, is really dry...maybe soak it in reverb for 20min then hang dry? 3) The kick jumps in towards the end which sounds nice, but with all the glitching going on it remains fairly static, maybe a few fills? Odder-den-dat, I like it the samples, they were used tastefully and clearly and this represents a nice project to be fleshed out

  3. Tangledeep is now on Kickstarter! We're raising money for extra animation polish like walking & attacking animations, plus special guest composers like Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3) who is already onboard!!! If you want to get access to pre-release builds after April, get the digital soundtrack, Steam key, or immortalize yourself in the game, check out the campaign! WHAT'S TANGLEDEEP It's a 16-bit, FF/Square-inspired dungeon crawler. A true roguelike that takes inspiration from classic western games and JRPGs alike. Tactical turn-based combat, procedural generation, deep customization, lots and lots of loot, and monsters to battle. I've been working on this for over a year now and I'm about 40% done - your feedback is appreciated! The game is playable on Mac and PC right now, but eventually will be on Linux and possibly consoles/mobile too. I'm doing all the code & design for the game (along with music, of course) while @OA is doing beautiful UI, environments and tiles, and a couple other artists doing characters, battle FX, and items. We're hoping to release the game by the end of the year! As of now, though the game is definitely shaping up, it's still pre-alpha with some placeholder art and lots of content yet to be made (and balancing to be done). Tangledeep Discord: https://discord.gg/4q5kjUm Bug Tracker: http://git.impactsoundworks.com:617/isworks-andrew/tangledeep/issues Twitter Dev: http://twitter.com/tangledeepgame Full Dev / Change Log: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=57600.0 WIN: http://tangledeep.com/builds/Tangledeep-LatestWinBuild.rar OSX: http://tangledeep.com/builds/Tangledeep-LatestOSXBuild.zip Today we have a wide spread of new art, polish, bug fixes, balance tweaks, and content. The biggest game experience changes are that you now start in the town, and you now have a permanent 'town portal' item that can be used anytime to return to town. You can then take a portal back to where you were. We're also experimenting with walking sprites - starting with the Hunter - which look pretty amazing, in my opinion! The current cast of characters, monsters and NPCs. Some new art + palette improvements here! A snapshot of the world as it looks now. Improved grass, trees, better lighting, better fog of war. Walking animation!?

  6. Surprisingly good. Such a premise would normally end up a train wreck or bad timing, forced jokes, etc... but you managed to pull it off.

  7. I really like this arrangement, and I find it a shame that the FF3 project couldn't be completed on OCR. But I'll say it again, I REALLY like this arrangement.

  8. Just posting an update here for the Zelda:Wind Waker Album! We're no longer recruiting and have in fact submitted for approval and release back in July. I know the review process is long and needs ample time (you guys have a lot to do) but I just wanted to bring the info up to date. Thank you! ---SkyRiderX

  9. A huge difference from the original for sure. I'm not sure if you're just titling it "I Give Up" as in you're giving up on a race in F-Zero or what, but if you mean you're giving up on finishing this, then why? You've put effort into it so far. It sounds good.

  10. New build today! This one is huge. Since my last update here in November the game looks better, has way fewer bugs, way more content, more quality of life features and options... it's just way better. So your feedback is greatly appreciated! Play for free!

  11. The Damned

    Nintendo Switch

Do you think they aren't hedging their bets with the 3DS and Switch? They know any new console is risky. They saw unbelievably high sales on the Wii, and then really low sales on the Wii U. The 3DS had a rocky start, and almost ended upa footnote, but they managed to salvage it and it's been doing pretty good since. Then they make a system that is both a portable and a home console? At the same time? That's risky as fuck. Nintendo obviously wants it to sell well. They want Wii-level sales figures. But if they see that it sells a lot more than 3DS, they will focus on the Switch entirely and phase out 3DS. It's just smart business: older, cheaper product doesn't sell as much as newer, more expensive product = sell more of newer more expensive product. And I'm saying this as someone that loves the 3DS. I don't want the 3DS to get phased out. But I think it could very well happen.
