  1. To be honest it really depends on the individual. Some people really do enjoy what Bundeslang has put out host or not...

  2. Well, I didn't really want to raise this issue, because stirring the pot usually gets me in hot water, but I feel this issue must be raised. So, someone raised a pretty good issue with me via PM. There were at least two votes that were overly subjective. As a caveat, I've definitely cocked it up majorly on some of my votes too, but aim to shoot straighter on that front. But I digress... Bundeslang's entry was basically a MIDI rip without any of the MIDI controllers removed, so it caused a ton of clipping. It's great that he's participating again, but people shouldn't feel the need to put him in one of the 3 slots simply because he's the host. And two people gave him a slot, when there were 5 other (yeah, we're not counting mine) that were easily more deserving of a spot. Now I remember why I used to prefer submitting as a BONUS at MnP. I should probably return to that M.O. Except for Howlowe'en I can see why nobody really raises a stink, due to the spotty participation rate, but I stress that we be a bit more careful going forward. Also, it's a good thing that someone finally raised the issue to me. Last thing we want to do is spurn away new people. Lord knows, I already do that enough with my stupid comments.

  3. It is absolutely worth entering, regardless if you win or lose. A lot of remixers on this site started off by participating in the PRC and other competitions like it. It's a great way of getting regular feedback on your work while letting you hone techniques and try new things.

It's the day before Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for this community and the people in it. You guys are pretty neat.

  5. Huh, Parasite Eve? Definitely not a soundtrack you hear everyday. If I recall correctly, didn't this game series share the same composer as for the Kingdom Hearts series, Yoko Shimomura? Interesting game to pick from, for sure.

  6. It's not about winning the contest. For me, the results are just to decide who gets to pick a source for the next round. The Slogan of CompoThaSauce is: "The only way to lose a compo is to not participate" But of course everyone must make his/her own decision to enter or note (or vote or not). Everyone is always welcome to participate.

  8. I hope nobody voted for me because I'm the host (my song wasn't a MIDI rip but I agree with HoboKa that it was closer to that as I'm used to), everyone should vote how they like to but not based on song genre (I vote for XX because his song is a trance song which I like) or other things as the song (my vote is for Bundeslang because he is the host of the contest). I was surprised myself as well that I got 3 points and for example HoboKa and SethSkoda got less but it's just the voters who decide and it was a hard one this time with 7 songs. Results time HoboKa got 3 points and the seventh place wooden spoon. Seth Skoda gathered 5 points and sixth place PlanarianHugger and Bundeslang got 6 points and fourth place Silverpool64 received 10 points and gets the third place TheVideoGamer got 11 points and second place And the winner of PRC400 is Trism with 13 points!!. Trism, you are the winner and may pick a source for one of the upcoming rounds. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your sources as fast as you can, but before next Monday (16 October 2019), 11:00 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT). You may select any source from any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links (I recently updated this site): http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/prc400 for the votes and comments. HoboKa, I used the source you submitted already for the next round, didn't get a source from NinjaPenguinDan. NinjaPenguinDan can still submit his source for one of the upcoming rounds.

  9. Hey, I remember being pissed off a ton for losing rounds at PRC years back. Then I learned to stop caring and enjoy it - cuz at end of the day, you still have a cool tune that you've made to show all your friends. Winning is just an added bonus. The feedback is still handy and no one is shy to give it here.

  10. I see. Well, everyone's vote could be faulted for not being the most objective here. I was approached by someone who felt they were given a raw deal, so I did my best to convey it. Granted, it wasn't really asked of me to do so. It's just sad to see them go. And sorry for throwing Bundeslang under the bus. Still appreciate the Bunda for hosting.

  11. I have to disagree, unfortunately. People should be allowed to vote for who they wish, regardless. I have Bunda a third place vote because I felt that it was better than the other entries. Yes, it is a midi rip, but some effort has been put in to make the track different from the source material. I gave feedback in my votes for each track, and they should reflect why I chose to give Bunda my vote instead of the others.

  12. I saw it, and I appreciate it. I'm always looking for feedback on my "work" regardless of whether it's good or bad. And there's ALWAYS room for improvement.

  13. Maybe you're right... But, then again. I get feedback on Newgrounds a lot. That's how I got to where I am tbh. By the way, I voted for your piece in PRC. Good stuff, but room for improvement, too. I left feedback with my vote. If anything, I may only participate as a voter from here on out to give others feedback. I have my own projects that I've been pushing back for these compos in order to make my presence known. I really need to stop attention whoring and get back to work.

  14. Yep downgrades are good, so long as the source is recognizable and the mood isn't altered too much.

  17. Man, I hate this arrangement, lol. I love the fact that it's on OCR - there needs to be more music on here that challenges my tastes.

  18. After almost a year lol, I finally finished it. Working on different projects here and there helped to really bring to this to something I'm super proud of and hope ya'll like it. Hope to actually see this on the website but I'm gonna have to figure out how to change the actual CT samples used. It'll be on itunes/ apple music and Spotify in about 3 - 4 days. DL available on Soundcloud as well. Artist - EchoGhost616 Spotify - EchoGhost Youtube - Echo Ghost

  19. So basically last month CPS-3, one of the most finicky and hardest arcade systems (well when talking about older arcade systems, but this might still be true) to break encryptions for was decrypted last month. Days later, CPS-3 integrated into MAME. Tommorow: The appearance of Jesus? WE HAVE WITNESSED HISTORY IN THE MAKING FOLKS! This is a little bit old news (a month give me a break) but I know plenty of us out there were waiting for this to happen regardless. Discuss. (Oh and no piracy kthx.) -Nick

  20. I'm done with PRC, y'all. If you can lose to the objectively worst entry, it's not worth entering anymore. I am severely disappointed with Sonic fans in general right now.
