  1. Oh my god, this is going to be epic. OA VS Fishy? I can't wait to see that one.
  2. Any word from Novo Interactive? I still haven't heard anything.

  3. No one man on Earth can say enough good about Nutritious. I'll throw my vote in for Logic too. I played with that at the studio back at school and we got some pretty awesome stuff out of it. I played Motoi Sakuraba's "Requiem for a Predicament" on the keyboard and we remixed it with vocal samples we did and a bunch of other shit and we had a fucking awesome track in like 20 minutes. Logic can be kinda daunting, at least it was to me since I've only ever used Fruity Loops, but $500 for it can be a great starter-intermediate way for you to get things done.
  4. Don't take this as an asshole comment, but that's really not much to go on. While I don't think there are many songs like that, there's not a great, specific place to start looking. If you want to dig deeper and see if you can find a more specific name to start with, I'll help you find it.
  5. I myself am pretty disappoint with Colossus in general, but that makes me a hypocrite since I currently rely on it quite a bit.
  6. You gotta make the best with what you got, and you got it for free. Get creative and you can do some awesome shit with strings, brass and chimes.
  7. btw, If you are actually able to negotiate a price with them, please forward it to me - I've always wanted to see someone actually pull that off. Seriously, I want to see it.
  8. Looks like it. If you got an awesome job where you got airplanes the country over using your tracks week after week, would you want a press release like that? Of course you would. Great job as always Tweek.

  10. Does your program you're doing your FFVII with open MIDIs?

  11. I thought this was the same topic Chipp Damage did some months ago. And I have to echo Zircon entirely, although with much less credit to my name. Pretty much every day gets harder and harder for new people to get in - its for this reason I have come to stop disrespecting bands I've heard of entirely simply because I'VE HEARD OF THEM - that in itself is truly something to respect, if nothing else. I'd say, right now, minimize your expectations down a WHOLE lot. Consider anything you get out of your efforts a trophy. I have ONE remix to my name and it isn't even that good, but you bet your ass I wear that Ocremixer title like a crown. With so many flooding every channel you can think of, the smallest achievement becomes precious. Keep that in mind. Also consider how much you would really want to be on a major music label in the first place. Mo' Money, Mo' problems. You want to be like Michael Jackson? Look what happened to him. Elton John's lucky to be alive. Its all glitz and glamour on the outside, and on the inside you have to weigh on your shoulders an extremely demanding job that the entire world is literally watching you do. That's at least one major reason celebrities are insane. I think of it like the Ancient Cave on Lufia II. You got in? Great... let's see you get out. Basically, just appreciate anything you get out of it. Don't be too proud if you end up writing shit for Barney The Purple Dinosaur on Ice or something. As much as it sucks, its a real job, and music jobs don't just rain from the sky. It is my opinion the Good Lord sees it fit to punish the pretentious for their overestimation by sticking them largely in positions they don't want to be in. Don't be too proud. I think thats it for me. Peace out. Good luck and appreciate anything you get!
  12. Sam, you need to hit me up on AIM please. My screen still says you're offline...
  13. It might help a bit more if you told us more about the song you're looking to get performed. Like how long it is, what it kinda sounds like, etc. etc. Hit up Dhsu, he's got a great touch and an expressive style. I would've hired him last week if not for a schedule conflict on my part. That'd be my recommendation.
  14. Or a naked woman IRL for that matter..... Now thats an O-face my fiend.
  15. Fuck that, no pun intended. Do you know how much it costs and how much trouble it is just to get a woman into bed with you? Why the hell would you want to double it?
  16. I have many goals for 2010: - Its high time to cut this kiddult crap and finalize the adulthood process. I intend to grossly improve my level of maturity and the way in which I understand and comprehend things. - I intend to get published. I don't care what. I already have a short story coming out soon, but I have bigger fish to fry still. - Try my luck at an indie record label. - Part time job. - Gig for a band up in Baltimore. - Go back to school with the music I've done and ask them what they can do for me in that respect. - Try and start dating. Or not. I don't really care at this point. - Need to have a little chat with Ma and Pa, individually. - This is a big one: Need to restructure my music setup and improve my compositional habits. Now that I have the tools, I have to learn how to use them. So help me God, I'll be kicking more ass than there was ever ass to begin with! - Need to GET OFF THE INTERNET more and enjoy peace and tranquility in the real world. Need to quit working so much and find balance. It is also my intention to officially erase as much enmity as I have had with as many people as I haven't destroyed yet. Yes, that would be an interesting dynamic. I got a pair of balls, its high time I started throwing them around. 2009 was a shitload better than 2008, therefore it stands to reason that 2010 will be even better than 2009.
  17. Yay, my Secret Santa gift came in today! Thanks Alexis!
  18. Did you look at his page? Some people actually contributed for a "social experiment". Selfish. Ridiculous. This is a scam. The thermometer is a good giveaway (take a close look toward the right and you'll see what I mean) that this guy's a joker or really stupid. Hope you enjoy that $100, buddy.
  19. He went to Memphis for law school and got married to Etak. I haven't talked to him in years myself over some argument we had. Boy knows how to dish it out but doesn't know how to take it, apparently. I did send him a link to Yggdrasil Speaks to Me when it got posted, but I only heard back from his wife.
  20. I'm glad you said it - If I brought it up first it would make me look like an asshole. Its one thing to ask for donations for a charity or for a known person here, but to help pay off a house to someone I don't know? I mean, c'mon now. There ARE limits to that sort of thing.
  21. Damn, Taucer. I got introduced to this site from high school frenemy JesustheDarkLord. I don't think I myself would want to bring friends to this site - that seems to be a boundary issue.
  22. Well, I'm clearly biased in favor of it, but you're missing out on one of the coolest old-school JRPG final dungeons ever, plus the best lead up to the final battle I've ever seen and a very satisfying ending, and then there's the bonus dungeons!

Course, it was 1991 when I fell in love with all that so I don't know how it holds up if you do it new in this day and age, but it really stops getting boring very soon. :)

  23. I keep wondering whatever happened to that guy from time to time. What is a Lead UI Artist?
