  1. Suddenly I feel the urge to post this again:
  2. Wow, that sucks... just tried it myself, kept getting crappy colours. Guess you'll just have to choose the best dithering option =\ [Edit] Or you could just post the swf file. Heck, someone's already posted an OCR-tan sprite in an exe!
  3. This one's not all that slow, but I think it has that "relaxed" feel down: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00544/
  4. NICE! Gives new meaning to the phrase "Guitar Hero". What if she's facing left though? And, aerial/walking charges might spawn a massive amount of frames, unless the guitar and arms are a separate sprite. Otherwise, it's bloody brilliant. Yes, but they used a much smaller number of frames (or, at least in the fighters I've played). I guess with a Computer Science background, the idea of using an animated gif where it loads a completely new background image every single frame seems like an epic waste of resources. However, judging by the fact that the car/background gif is only 63 kilobytes, it seems reasonable to assume that animated gifs do NOT store copies of the entire background when just a small part of the images changes. Heh, I'll think twice next time I want to question The Coop's use of animated gifs; carry on
  5. Did you animate that thing in Flash, or do you mean to say the background in the Flash game would be an animated gif? If that's what you mean... bahaha I'm sorry, it just seems so backwards to me. Backwards and 0.05-second-delay-inducing. Seriously, don't do it. Oh no no, I volunteered to do the tweaking myself - I'm a perfectionist like that. If a minimal amount of work can be done to improve the awesomeness of a sprite somewhat, I'll be there!!
  6. So true... And on that note, I propose some minor changes to the sprite (seeing as how it's such a major part of the game). It doesn't seem like there'll be a massive amount of frames either; I could even be the one to make these changes (once I have more free time in a few weeks). Left side is original, right side is edited: (I am getting WAY too hyped about this thread =p)
  7. ? Damn you, I should be doing homework right now! Sprite looks nice and thin on the dark background by the way... the toes on the boots could use more emphasis though, seeing as how they're supposed to be, well, boots with massive toes. Heighten the toes slightly and add a highlight, and they're good to go! [/nitpicking] nah, just kidding... I'm never done with nitpicking [Edit] By the way, what is with this comic, and why do I keep seeing it with different things in the word bubbles? http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2186/zirconyoronxf8.png And, does it have any potential for cutscenes?
  8. Nice Work Guy seems like a decent Dr. Light. Between each fight you'd meet up with his hologram, and he'd say "Nice Work", and then disappear. He'd also make a good Sigma... especially in giant wireframe head form. Let's get an official The Coop mock-up, go go go !! What about: Fists of BONE-BREAKING PRESSURE! Like I'M DOING THIS AS HARD AS I POSSIBLY CAN!!! The bosses are CAVING IN around her fists. Which is basically a "Hadoken", but unleashed via punching. Kinda like Stinko-man, actually.
  9. H-Hold on there, she shoots stuff out of her hand now? She should shoot something music related: music notes, sound waves, FL Piano Roll notes.... there must be a boss that keeps shooting out untss's, one untss after another. Midi-rip Man untss untss untss untss Each of 4-tan's weapons could be a different length of note: you start shooting 16th-notes with whole-rests in between, and after each fight you upgrade either your rest speed (whole-rest half-rest -> quarter-rest -> 16th-rest) or your shot length (16th-note -> quarter-note -> half-note -> the all powerful WHOLE NOTE!!!) DON'T tempt me... While we're on the topic of screen ratio, here's another thing to consider: where will the power bars be placed? Nothing more annoying than a powerbar getting in the way of the action! Might be best to have the powerbars inside the walls... which makes our fight space pretty small. I'm always a fan of having Player and Boss power bars of equal length, riiiight up close to each other, so you can watch in excitement as both power bars neck past each other, drawing closer and closer to the finish line... =D
  10. *watches B.O.B gameplay video* Gun for an arm? Giant fist? Mad crouching abilities? Awesome start-of-level entrance and end-of-level dance? I dunno, I really don't think this guy is Smash Bros. material...
  11. Super Smash Bros 64 with online!!! But seriously, I can't even think of any =O Explains why I only have about 3 virtual console games... Any that I really want are probably already available. I've already got the Zelda collection and Megaman collection for Gamecube... plus a PC game I've barely started, and two gamecube games that I've yet to touch... and Brawl. Is it wrong to be completely satisfied with my current collection of games? Ah well, if they publish the results, I can use the top ones as a "must have" list. It's good to have a functioning SNES and N64
  12. I thought his name was Bob...? We're talking about the same goldfish, right? [Fake edit] Oh man I got confused, I thought your post had something to do with the one you were quoting. Yes, yes, the roster does need Earthworm Jim. (And sorry for making fun or your post! I really did think you were talking about an Earthworm Jim character named B.o.b., that you were telling Thalzon that he needs Earthworm Jim!) So, who's this plasma-shooting B.o.b for the SNES guy anyway?? Yes, I am too lazy to look it up on Google!
  13. Priceless So I come back here with several pages to read, but it's just some guy double-posting about how his overactive imagination blocks out all logic and reason when he looks at anime. I was going to take a stab at drawing these mascots... now I'll make sure to exaggerate the movements even moreso!! Soft material moving when one's hand occupies the space where it used to be? I AM IN SHOCK!
  14. Quoted for... eh, let's go with "truth". The colour scheme and ear-thing makes it look like some rad combination of and ....With a little bit of for good measure.
  15. I'd be concerned if people carried around ukuleles NOT to play them. Man, that'd be a weird place... *Dream sequence involving many unorthodox uses of ukuleles* ...Ok, that was a little too weird. Although, dental floss IS expensive...
  16. Ok. That is the best thing I've ever seen.* *May not be the best thing I've ever seen
  17. And NWG as announcer, final boss, and playable character. "Nice Combo!" "djp Wins. Nice Work."
  18. Tool assisted. You'll notice the inputs into both games are identical - like doing a tool-assisted speed-run for two games at the same time, but with one shared controller. If anything this guy has a ton of patience and a LONG attention span. Tool assisted. You'll notice the inputs into both games are identical - like doing a tool-assisted speed-run for two games at the same time, but with one shared controller. If anything this guy has a ton of patience and a LONG attention span. It's awesome how Sigma appears at the same time in both of them [ZOMFG SPOILERS!!!]
  19. I'm curious to see if they ever find out why the guy went nuts. I mean, if he didn't die at the hospital, I wonder if he would've went back to normal and continued to lead a normal life... you know, assuming he doesn't get a huge prison sentence for attempted murder. I wonder how his family's doing... (Not to say I don't care about the boy and his mother, but 90% of the article is about them, so I'm not exactly curious about them anymore...)
  20. Oh wow, it suddenly occurred to me why filmmakers use good-looking actors all the time. I mean, aside from the obvious rea$ons... I'm not saying the Link actor doesn't look any worse than the average person, he just looks so... old! Link is ALWAYS a "boy", never a "man". And having such an old-looking guy play him just makes him look like a confused bad-acting childish man..... Heck, how old is adult link in OOT? 18 maybe? Same with Zelda; in the trailer she did not appear one bit youthful (though it seemed they did that on purpose for some odd reason...) Ok I'm done ranting.
  21. I've never heard of this being done, but... has anyone seen/heard of pranks involving the school-wide intercom or daily announcements? Some ideas: - The daily announcements begin, and a vast amount of helium is released near the microphone. Silly-voice announcements ensue. - Insert fart noises as desired. - If your school plays the national anthem every day... replace it with something funny, like "Music of my groin". Or, have it start playing the anthem normally, then switch to Music of my Groin for an added element of surprise. Or even better, play it from an alternate source (or multiple alternate sources) so they can't turn it off. I can only see this working if the announcements are normally dry and humourless though...
  22. So they did the trailer, and parts of the trailer are in their demo reel - how does this imply there's a real movie? And, I mean, they did some pretty sad casting for Link. And what's with Zelda's pale pale skin? Really, they would have put a lot more work into it if it was a real movie (I would hope...)
  23. If they wanted to make a movie, I'd think they'd have to first think up a plot that makes sense. Something that's always bugged me about Zelda games, which appears again in this April Fools trailer: why does Ganon always want to fight Link? How many times has he done battle with a kid wearing green and equipped with 10 different magic items and the very same Master Sword and lost horribly?? Is his greed so great that it overpowers his common sense century after century???? I suppose it is... either that, or he wants to prove his power by defeating Link once and for all.... and if he fails, there's always next time, right? He's got nothing to lose, I suppose... and everything to gain. This is the kind of thing I think videogame movies should explore, you know; deep character and plot development that the games just don't have. If the plot of a videogame movie is as thin as the original game's plot, it fails in my eyes (at having a deep plot). Didn't notice that one
