  1. I hosted for you a better quality version in mp3 format. http://www.fileupyours.com/view/215432/Mega%20Man%20X%20-%20Chill%20Penguin%20Stage.mp3
  2. I think I remember you... you were an user who did support reviewing songs in WIP boards, but had a different nickname. You even posted comments about a track made by me if I recall. Yes. I definitely know who you are. This song is indeed an improvement of your previous stuff. Very good use of what you got. A complete version of this will be great and beyond.
  3. Lower orchestral hits sounds too slow and some spaceship effects are slightly louder than the rest, but it is surely top notch stuff from Mark Vera.
  4. This is truly a masterwork. I will tell you why. Hold on. Ok, so... although it is short, I can't stop listening to it. So many years and it still rocks my ears. Never heard anything like this on this site, which is pretty good. Mutagene has unique programming over space effects. Retro intro is fantastic. Wet pads and panned bass are both fitting perfectly, but the percussion arranging in particular was what brought more to my attention. 0:51, 1:16, 1:40 for instance features some kind of groove with trash can snares making transition from one part to another; it is way awesome. The synth music box (1:42) started with similar melodic lines of the atmospheric pad. Then at 2:06 it plays the same as the intro melody. Great way to build things up. All sounds here are suitable like pieces of a puzzle. And the title of this track is made of instant win.
  5. I rarely enjoy anything related to FF, but hey... I've been listening to this one several times in the past few years and it surely has a creative arrangement. Never dull. Very chill.
  6. This is much better than that Sonic Marble crap. Drum beat is cool, but it gets repetitive sometimes. I will refuse going any further because I decided to avoid anything related to this game.
  7. Looping it, loving it. This is very relaxing stuff. It has a really cool feel to it The overdrive guitar is sweet; it does not hurts. Its lead at 1:42 got an awesome tremolo sequencing. Starts on center and then goes to right. Main melody is surely spot on piano. Loved that piano and when it was more exposed over 1:57. The strings in 2:36 were a great addition; they brought a good feeling for that part. You managed to keep things interesting in the whole song. Ending was superb. Nice to see more from you. As an original, this is wonderful music. Composing stuff is great. I believe creating is simply one of the most important things we can do. I still listen to 'Run Away With Me' a lot. Never got tired of that song.
  8. I am now sharing some wonderful a cappella songs made by Spiralmouth. http://www.fileupyours.com/view/215432/Spiralmouth.rar
  9. No effects, dry samples, annoying guitar base, few new ideas. The whole song is also too quiet; needs more instruments going on.

  11. Flashback: The Quest for Identity Sound effects are pretty interesting as are the songs in the cut scenes. The music is not played during gameplay all the time, but when it does, it brings a mood of curiosity and danger which fitted quite well for this kind of game.
  12. Heheh. Moonwalker. Their Idaten version is not bad at all. Always loved this game.
  13. If you are going to make a cover, at least add sufficient reverb to it and fade out the last part. Bitrate is too low for Wolf.
  14. First snare is cool, but not clear enough; try putting parametric EQ and boost up Band 7 level. Main leads are horrible. The new sample spot on in 0:42 was even worse. That when it goes to 00:56 and melodically it changes becoming less annoying than before while drums got some neat sequencing. Unfortunately at 1:32 it went back with plastic synths and plays the original repeatedly for almost 1 minute. Empty, mostly mono and no ending.
  15. Just note-for-note like the original with faster tempo and added beats. I recommend you post actual rearrangements next time.
  16. You should host my track under your name in the first place, instead of toying with my account. Not because it was a bad action... you were trying to help, but quoting me was not my opinion of the song and it looked quite a mess. No mess is good at all. So I removed it.
  17. What a mess. Remove the entry posted by yourself. It was removed because I did it.
  18. The intro music is part of a medley made by CarboHydroM called "Penguin Cap" based on SM64 tunes, originally posted in VGMix 2 and now available in his place. http://carbohydrom.free.fr/music.html
  19. I believe to understand. I still think mixers can receive additional feedback from reviewers which were not pointed by the judges yet. It may not change the song, but it will help the artists toward a more polished effort in their future submissions. That if the person gets open for it. And I agree about the WIP forum being actually the closest way to help users in their songs. However, the review forum can not be discarded for such possibility.
