  1. I'll be going as a communistic vampire who wishes mortals would understand how to get things to work correctly. That is freaking awesome!
  2. I try to for most songs. I'm always looking for a new idea for a movie or music video, and the more I focus on a song visually, the easier it becomes to think of ideas.
  3. My goodness, I had forgotten all about Geocities. I had a video game review site back in 2000. I reviewed five whole games! The things we have done...
  4. I'm just glad to see Kirby 64! I was probably too old to admit to loving this game, but it was so much freaking fun. And the soundtrack was great! I agree with the artist, this boss was insane compared to the rest of the game. I love how this remix exemplifies the hectic nature of that fight, while keeping that strange sound the Kirby soundtrack had. Very cool, very spastic, very "Boss". Thanks for the remix!
  5. I've always liked this song. Super Mario World was something else; the castles, the levels, the Yoshies. I remember playing this game so much as a kid, so many times, and never getting bored. Honestly, I know it might be heresy, this is probably my favorite Mario game (gasp!). This mix is a very fun, upbeat one. Nothing too deep, but I find it nostalgic and enjoyable. Nice work.
  6. I hear that. I seem to only replay some games now because OCR has changed the way I see their soundtracks. Lot's of times, when I play a new game, I look forward to going on OCR right after to find the remixes for that game.
  7. "A Moment Like This" reminds me of Final Fantasy X because while playing FFX once, I turned on the radio, that song came on, I summoned and attacked with Bahamut and Mega Flare, and it all went in time with the music. That's kind of sad, really. Captain Planet makes me want to play Super Mario World.
  8. I was wondering, playing video games have gotten me into many other things outside of gaming. "Age of Empires" got me into history more than school ever managed to, "Ogre Battles 64" got me into Dungeons and Dragons, and "Final Fantasy VI" and "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" got me into storytelling like nothing else. I could go on about how I now listen to remixes all the time thanks to gaming... So, what have games gotten you into? Hobbies, jobs, or other forms of entertainment you never would have tried if not for games?
  9. Reading that thing was intense. I think I might just go play Chrono Trigger.
  10. I wanted to like it, because I like the original song. The issue is that this IS the original song. It has a beat in the back to remind you it's a remix, but it's not a very strong beat. The key change near the end just doesn't strike me as a big enough change to change my mind. I won't be downloading it but I can see why it's on the site. 2000? I didn't even show up until 2 years after. Years change and with it, quality.
  11. For the most part, no. But, I am often found running to the hills, if only because I'm running for my life.
  12. I've loved this mix since I found it years ago. The problem with Morrowind (among other things) was that this song was a great, inspirational song, but it was the only song. But this mix I can listen to forever. When the end comes along and the synth takes away with its outro, I love it every time. Makes me want to play the game (but not for too long). Awesome mix, thanks for posting it.
  13. Ok, the mix itself is really cool, but the chorus is just too cool. Every time it comes on, a get chills. Such a geek moment done right. Very cool mix.
  14. I like this mix, but I have a problem with this song in general, and that's every time I hear it, I put in pixietricks and zircon's lyrics. Still, this is cool mix, if a little to... safe? I guess that's the word I'd be looking for?
  15. I remember the first time I heard this mix. It's such a moody sound. I totally agree. And as autumn comes more into itself everyday, I'll be playing this song more and more. It has such a unique sound and I love the guitar's sound near the end, such a cool riff. I'm going to enjoy this Halloween...
  16. I have loved this mix since I first heard it. Man, I keep wishing we'd get more AOE mixes, but this keeps me happy!
  17. I was just listening, kind of chilling out to this song. I was thinking this was just another nice remix of the song, but then 3:23 hits and I was blown away. It was such a cool switch. The whole mix is amazing and such a cool take on a classic Donkey Kong song. I want to hear more of these guys! Thanks for the mix!
  18. The game that got me into the RTS genre was Age of Empires: Rise of the Romans, and then it was Starcraft. I've yet to find an RTS that matches those series. But when you take Starcraft away, go for Age of Empires II. That game is amazing and playing it with friends is something that can't be matched. My brother really enjoys the WarHammer games...
  19. It's the way to play, doesn't it seem? After making this video, all I wanted to do was go back in time, and play all my favorite games with Glenn. Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VI would have been so much more fun with someone there to join with you. That makes me think of a new thread... http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=594285#post594285
  20. So, I made a video with my friend and posted it earlier, and swordbreaker left a comment that made me think. Have you ever played a game all the way through with a friend? If so, do you prefer it over soloing and what are some fun things that game with it?
  21. So, how long have you been coming to OCRemix and how have you liked the changes that have come and gone? I've been coming since 2002 and have been enjoying ever since. I think I first fell in love with the site when I heard AmIEvil's "deathinasnowfield" mix. I still kind of prefer the 2002 site design; the dark blue with the first use the headphones over the controller. I've loved how involved OCR has become; the albums, the podcast, the judges. So, how about you?
  22. This mix is great. I was so immersed into Donkey Kong Country as a kid, and I think one of the things that did it was the ambient soundtrack. Fear Factory was such a cool song, not to mention levels. But this mix really does add something else to the song. The song does kind of sound sad but these lyrics really change the way I see the stage. It helps that the vocals are up to par as well. A very good mix of a very cool song.
  23. I like this take. I guess I was expecting more of the piano as the focus, but I love that the guitar is there and just strumming along. I don't have a hard time picking up the source, but I'm used to this song. Good job.
