The panning in the intro is terrible. Everything is hard panned to one side. The elements need to be a balanced out. I like the general feel of the track, very promising! Lead guitar is a good choice. 1:53 the distorted supporting element needs less distortion. It's too grating and is taking attention away from better elements. Kick and snare samples need to be changed. They are very weak in character and are buried in the track.

:47 Some white noise build-up or reverse crash needs to be implemented here. :50 Snare needs to be much louder. It's the chorus section of the song. Fast hi-hats aren't gonna provide the same amount of energy as some good old snare. 1:18 This is a great sound. Boost the volume on that sucker, And try to feature it more in the song. Overall the arrangement doesn't feel cohesive. The track feels like it just goes from one section to the next. For example the section starting at :50 feels like the climax of the track. The individual ideas are really good. Some very creative breakdowns.

An arranging tip that really helps me: Find your #1 most important element in the song. Melody, Bass line, Drum loop/sequence; and then build your entire song around that. It will help make it feel significantly more cohesive. I normally compose multiple sections. I don't use all of them; only the ones that fit the arrangement and overall feel of the track.

:20 that bell sound has got to go. It's wicked grating. Maybe try a glockenspiel sample layered with a simple synth sound. :45 YES! that is so much better. That whole whole groove, feel, and balance is what you should focus on. Initial intro is pretty cool. Could work as a breakdown. My biggest beef is arrangement wise. First 45 seconds sounds like a completely different song.

Panning the ambiences wider; and/or adding more stereo image to those parts would be cool. :41 hear how the stereo spectrum fills up? The whole track should be that full. 1:32 is too loud starting there. Overall some good ideas. The lead sounds + composition need alot of work to remain interesting. Also the ambience/fx and individual sounds are not strong enough to warrant this minimalistic of an approach.

This! Diva is absolutely stunning. Although sadly it rapes your computer. I have an i7-3770k and it will max that out on Studio One. My goto for pads/atmo/unusual sounds is Omnisphere. The best bang for your buck will easily be Omnisphere bc of it's uber high quality and sheer flexibility.

It's like MMO + FFXII. It's fun and one of the stronger points of the game. The length, characters, and pacing of the game kinda suck. If you like exploration and item collection; you'll def really like the game.

Brad what games out of these did you actually play? And which ones did you find good. BTW you never played Secret of Mana? Also two games I didn't see recommendations about: Valkyrie Profile 2 Lufia 2 Also a bunch of the Tales games can be wildly entertaining...I mean a fighting game as the battle system...genius!

Mixing Tutorial: Add some noise sweeps and filter modulation. This isn't a bad start.

Studio One is quicker than FL to set-up automation of any knob. FL's controller paradigm is cool but takes way too many clicks to accomplish anything.

Cubase has good midi. Try making a video game remix with Cubase. If you like it there is no need to spend extra money.
