IS Blood on the Asphalt the soundtrack for SF2HD?
The Pezman replied to dsx100's topic in General Discussion
They pretty much confirmed it at MAGFest. -
So I got my first taste today, and of course there are many many good things to say about this game. But almost none that haven't been said already. So I will limit it to 2: 1. I was going through the soundtrack section and got to the Metal Gear Solid section. All the tracks were from MGS 1-4... except one. I beat MG2 recently, so to hear the main theme of that game all badassified sent shivers up my spine. My jaw dropped; I never thought I'd hear this song redone, much less on a frickin Nintendo blockbuster. 2. I played a few of the adventure missions with a friend, and we were playing the Lucas/Pokemon trainer in the ruins. I listened closely... holy shit! The Egyptian pyramid theme from Super Mario LAND was in the background. Super Mario Land was one of THE first video games I ever played, when my grandma got my dad a gameboy, and he gave it to me, when I was 3 or 4 years old. My wager is there are only about 100 brawlers who would recognize that theme. It was gloriously magical.

I'm hoping that demand will die down by the summer. That's about the first time I'd have to seriously play it anyways.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
The Pezman replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
Then why isn't "Level 1" or something mentioned on the list of remixed tunes? Maybe you have a policy against using such names (is that why other songs don't have anything listed under that category?), but without it this one in particular is very very misleading. -
Agreed... I hate the principle of that application.

'Kay, I'm gettin' a queue of unanswered music questions here. BEAT IT DOWN, LARRY! BEAT IT DOWN!!! Do you YES songs despite the musical quality of an arrangement? I don't mean its production quality, or on the grounds of too liberal or conservative. If it meets all those criteria but is just, musically speaking, a bad arrangement (has no visible harmonic progression, tones and dissonance used inappropriately, etc), will you YES it? I've done some thinking on what you've said otherwise. Between you, the site you linked to (mostly rubbish there) and the Wikipedia entry on ladder theory I've had much to consider. I'm not sure how much of this I believe and I'm sure I'll be struggling with it for a while, but for the purposes of continued discussion I will take the core tenet (don't remain platonic friends with a girl you like) as a given. If I am in a situation you described, where a girl I have never spoken to passes the attraction test, the next step would be to ask her out. Problem is, I'm not very confident in my image or capabilities for first impressions, especially as an autistic (which could cause me to miss a lot of that body language you were talking about). In my experience, most appeal or charm I have comes out once people get to know me, but you're saying by then it's pretty much too late. I also go to a school with 2200 students (large crowds intimidate me), so when you factor out the non-single, unattractive (in my eyes) and just plain incompatible girls, there are slim pickings indeed. I don't actually expect you to have much to say about that last part, but it provides context.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business - History

Yeah... you're not really helping your case of giving me ample time. -
OMIGODOMIGODOMIGODOMIGODOMIGOD He picked ME (out of all the non-remixing forumgoers) to use as an example! Oh, I'm faint! As soon as I can figure out how to save a vcf I'm yoinking that to use as my vCard. I don't feel guilty about going off-topic, particularly when the on-topic ideas I put forth (vCard) aren't even responded to. That's true, and it was good, but he only actually scratched for a second at the end. That's why it comes with Traktor. You might be remiss to be mucking about with software EQs live, but if it works for Ableton users it can work for me. I can believe the tactile tradeoffs, but in this day and age starting with vinyl NOW is too much for me. The less physical stuff I have to worry about, the better. I always knew that if I DJed, I would do it off my computer. I don't have to make the playlist in advance and, accordingly, there's more room for on-the-fly manipulations. It wouldn't just be radio. That'd be where I'd start, perhaps, but I would move on. As for quality, I've gotten a good amount of electro from the radio station, and I store everything losslessly (the 750 GB hard drive I got has qualitatively paid for itself many times over).

As A Musician, What Is Your Greatest Achivement

...and in Nintendoworld... -
I'm thinking about getting one of these, which I discovered in the 14th Street Guitar Center during the OCR NY meetup last year. So long as you're not a vinyl elitist, I might just become a DJ by your standards as well. People who host a radio show are also called DJs, at least here at Dickinson. That irks me to no end, because while they do jockey CDs back and forth, the term is completely irrelevant to what they actually do in there (and I personally usually play music from my laptop). As such, I call myself a "radio showhost," not a "radio DJ." But if I do purchase this bad boy and bring it in for a show, the situation may change.

Couldn't we make use of the vCard feature? I know you were talking about a physical card, but this way we can distribute them more easily, and if we really want to get a laminated version we can.
-
Okay, I've examined my PS2 all over and I can't find any screws. Especially not in the places indicated... do I have to remove the rubber feet? If so, how should I do that? And even if I do remove the rubber feet, there are two squares with no feet which the photo still indicates have screws. I can't see them anywhere.

As A Musician, What Is Your Greatest Achivement
The Pezman replied to TheSnowStorm's topic in General Discussion
It will probably be once I get a song posted here. I haven't done much with music lately.. -
I briefly considered that, but quickly realized the benefits were not worth the tradeoffs. I had a fat PS2 but it was old (and I didn't want to spend extra to track down another one). Plus, the hard drive can only hold a certain number of games (and I have more than that), the process is cumbersome, and the PS2 becomes much heavier (a concern when you carry it places like I do sometimes). Plus, as far as the laser goes, I had the old PS2 for years and years (before I sold it to get a slim) and it still works just fine. So no, no hard drive.

This appears under Final Fantasy VII. Must be because of the title of the track being remixed. -
Will try this on Friday before I leave for break... what kind of screwdriver do I need?
