  1. But the creative process itself isn't better or worse in either, just different. Yes, it might be more accessible to grab a PC and install a DAW, but it doesn't mean it's any more creative or easier to explore than the other. My lecturers for instance would argue that tape based sonic design is a catalyst for creativity and provides a better understanding of sound manipulation in general.
  2. Just pointing out, those aren't THE two arguments, those are YOUR two arguments. Digital doesn't allow for any more 'new' creative directions than analogue does, that's a stupid point, as is the opinionated, 'easier to work with'. EDIT- Missed off the word 'does' which proved crucial to the point.
  3. No.The GameBoy has a PCM channel as opposed to a simple triangle generator like our good friend Mr Entertainment System. Basically, you can run whatever 4-bit waveform you like through it, hence why there's a bunch of lo-fi 'recorded' sounds in LSDJ. That said, the NES does have a similar thing in the form of DPCM channel.
  4. Yo dawg, I heard you like birthday threads, so I linked to your birthday thread in your birthday thread so you can check your birthday thread while you check your birthday thread.
  5. Oh, looks like everyone was right, you are amazing.
  6. Dude, even I don't know what I'm doing on it!

Although, your intentions behind wanting to collaborate are curious; you want to link between the two games? Why? The OOT project has nothing to do with MM. It gets more bizarre if you try and link the OOT project with your own too. As far as I'm aware, yours isn't even conceptually the same.

I'm not saying no, just trying to understand your intention here. I know what you’re trying to do with the whole Skull Kid thing, but why?

  7. Like the Minecraft soundtrack but well mixed. Watch out for that weak cymbal on the transitions, bit of an anticlimax.
  8. YOU ARE ALL USELESS IF I FAIL I'M BLAMING OCR. Fucking hipsters and their computer game chiptune arcade crap.
  9. That's just a guy singing over the original. It's horrific. I certainly hope you and all 103 likes are trolling.
  10. So when I go see this, where are you so I can point you out to my friends and pretend I'm incredibly well connected?
  11. Hahaha, takes me back. Oh man, I remember my friend endlessly endorsing his Stradivarius trumpet.
  12. This has always been the case for music, always. In 'classical' music (and by that I mean not the metagenre, the practice) I've experienced this 'gear fetishism' and gear demand far more than any electronic musician. In the classic music practice, it's all about what instrument you've got, or what reed/strings/mouthpiece/pick/bow/mallets/sticks/skins you're using. I mean, I've spent far more on 'classical' music items then I have on any electronic producer stuff. About five times as much. I mean, let's take the saxophone for instance. From experience, you're looking at least £3,000 ($4860) for a decent, professional quality instrument, and that's even entry level for the better manufacturers. A good mouthpiece? £100 ($160) at least. Good reeds? £10 for three. You get the point. This is not unique to modern, digital technology. As long as there is stuff to purchase, there'll be gear obsession in music.
  13. I came here looking for dubstep and you delivered poorly. IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE I KNOW HIM IN REAL LIFE.
  14. Got a live mixing thing as part of uni next week, need to visualise from Ableton Live, so from my soundcard, any experience or recommendations? VST might be a cool option. Tried Milkdrop, no good, line in only. Alternatively any REALLY PRETTY spectrograms/oscilloscopes?
  15. Still use FL9. Come at me Neblix.
  16. Actually, I have really fond memories of this game. I'd been a console gamer for some time and had just got my first ever desktop PC. I actually picked Oblivion up on a whim with a friend and, with only Gamecube games to go by, we were blown away by the sheer level of freedom. It was like Windwaker, but you could do ANYTHING.I never actually got to the Kvatch mission, ever, yet sunk hundreds of gametime hours just looting, adventuring, modding and exploring.
  17. Sports have a painfully gradual learning curve with physical fitness and coordination as a prerequisite. Plus you need friends to play.
  18. Okay, so I haven't got a platform to play it on, but I checked out those visuals and, well, fuck; so silky flowy smooth gorgeous. Also a healthy injection of jello breast.
