    Hey guys,
After 9 years being on OverClocked ReMix, basically starting to my musical adventure here on the forums (first as Neblix, moving on from that name to my real name, then starting a new brand), I'm proud to finally release my first album of original music, COLOURS.

    Bandcamp: https://pryzmusic.bandcamp.com/album/colours
    CD Baby: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/pryzm
    OverClocked Records: https://overclockedrecords.com/release/colours/
Will also be coming to all major storefronts in the coming week, including streaming platforms! It's already available for free on YouTube and SoundCloud at low-quality streaming.
COLOURS is my debut album wrapping up my early young adult experience and entering the world as an independent creative and engineer. With this album is the introduction of the PRYZM, my metaphor for the assimilation of different influences across the spectrum of music. Music can be expressed in many different ways, and my motivation to compose is to learn all of these different expressions and merge them into my identity as a composer.

Ableton Live 10, Reason 10, Studio One 4, and now FL20... good times for DAWs. Happy to see OSX support and all the new features; not my main DAW and probably never will be, but still keepin' tabs.

Image Line finally released FL Studio 20 today after a couple of weeks of kicking around release candidates. As an FL Studio and Mac user, I cannot begin to describe how happy I am for native Mac support!

I'm ecstatic, for literally all of the updates in the video, especially the track bouncing, time sig change, return of the graph editor, and pre-computed effects.

Well, at least with "I think" and "maybe" people don't come off as trying to be the ultimate authority on something, which can be rather dangerous...
For example, when you say de facto that something "is not fair use," as you just did in the above quote, I think you're the one who should be using "maybe" or "I think," since fair use is an affirmative defense, the legitimacy of which is determined in court; prior to that event, you can only really express the legitimacy of fair use claims in terms of likelihoods, and you're expressing it as an absolute.
This is misleading; people use "I think" and "maybe" for a lot of good reasons, one of which is to acknowledge and reflect the nature of fair use more accurately.
If you're going to speak with authority and certainty, and criticize others for not doing so themselves, please try to be both correct AND specific in your language.

Just chiming in quickly; I think the production bar could stand to be lowered a bit, especially on the more subjective mixing/mastering front for relatively complex/ambitious tracks like this.
I get that there are certain common types of issues that are easy to cite - a smidge too much compression, crowding, etc. - but I feel like a mix of this particular arrangement/production balance should always make it through; pretty surprised this was as close a call as it was.

FAIRFAX, VA... Time to hit the track as OverClocked ReMix today releases its 66th free community arrangement album, VROOM: Sega Racing. Featuring 11 tracks from 14 artists, VROOM takes a lap through several Sega racing game titles, and was driven over the finish line by veteran arranger José "Bronx Rican" Felix, who also provided the project's artwork and trailer. The album is available for free download at http://vroom.ocremix.org.

VROOM's pit crew of musicians put down a variety of influences and genres including DnB, chiptune, funk, pop, jazz, rock, house, 90s-style R&B, and acoustic guitar. VROOM was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sega; all original compositions are copyright their respective owners.

"The original vision was to showcase the variety of soundscapes a person could drive a vehicle to, from slow-cruisin' tunes to more accelerated, upbeat tracks, to high-powered lead-foot bangers," album director José E. Felix explained. "What our artists and staff have put over the finish line will hopefully provide that sensation for you, even if you're not licensed and out on the road!"

The album's selection of games includes:
Daytona USA Indy 500 Metropolis Street Racer NASCAR Arcade OutRun Sega Rally Championship; and Virtua Racing Deluxe. VROOM is also OC ReMix's eigth Sega game music tribute album, following several Sonic the Hedgehog series ReMix albums (Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, CD + 25th anniversary) as well as albums inspired by NiGHTS and Gunstar Heroes.

Um, I have no idea why, but that somehow worked and I am now able to play it. Thank you! I am quite the fan of this whole site and its operations. If I run into anything else in the torrents or anything else I'll be sure to report it. Thank you for your time and for the music. I'll just go back to listening to the music now.

It could be because the filename was too long, which may have made it get truncated or altered after you downloaded it. I'm not sure if you're using Windows and your Windows Explorer hides file extensions, but if so and you're using Windows 10, open the album's folder, do View > Options > View folder and search options > Click the "View" tab > uncheck the box that says "Hide extensions for known known file types" > click "Apply" button, then you should be able to correct the extensions of the files to lowercase ".flac" and ".mp3". Let me know if I'm misunderstanding your issue though.

So I really need to get back into commenting on tracks; even just to try to just share the love and try not to be as cringe-worthy as I was those years back. And so of course I chose the song with the most downright sexual instrument I could... that bass is downright explicit! That intro; with the emphasis on the upright bass? Oh my; there's more than pillars of salt rising from that.

Jokes and puns aside; this really does deserve a touch more attention than it's received over the years. Yes; it has H-samples in it. But would the song be the same without them? Would any other instrument bring that surprise factor? Honestly; with repeated listens, I don't think I could argue any other instrument would work in their place. The "melody" line they play isn't really something you'd get a woodwind instrument to play, and there's no drum that comes to mind that fits with this style of music that can replicate that kind of noise.
Aside for that first intro at :34, the "moans" aren't even all that exposed (Heh), with a role partway between a percussive instrument and a lead line. They play with that bass and the heavily Middle Eastern sound, becoming another piece of the auditory soundscape. And as I said, I really, REALLY love that bass. Which is unfortunate, since I'm not allowed to have my bass up high or subwoofer on most of the time. That funky rhythm, those dirty note-slides, it's got real skill in it.

Guess this shows the world that there's more uses for the adult animation audio than just meat-beating.

Excellent stuff here!! I admit that I am one of the heathens that isn't familiar with the source (though I'm liking the description), but I don't think you need to know the source at all to be caught up in all the goodness of this remix. I really enjoy the transitions here (such as 1:25-1:35) and the solo sections are arresting (particularly 3:10+ is bananas!). But my favorite thing of this remix is the way the heavier guitar mixes with the quieter throughline. It gives a real feel of depth and touch and allows this piece to shine beyond just having some nice sections. Special props for the 5:05+ quieting finish - the perfect way to go out, in my opinion!
    A surprise gem here!

Hey all! Just wanted to plug my first ever original album. You guys are probably more familiar with my remixes and arrangement work here, but I have actually been writing original music for almost 20 years. The album is called Sound the Clarion Call: A Musical Tribute to 1001 Knights. You can pick it up on OverClocked Records for $3.99!
This album is inspired by the 1001 Knights art anthology that was Kickstarted about two years ago. It's a set of three hardcover books with beautiful artwork of different kinds of knights. I was hired to write the trailer music for it and ended up putting together a full album. If you've ever enjoyed my remixes before, give this album a shot. It's a mix of new age, jazz, and classic SNES sounds. Hope you enjoy it.
Here's the fourth track from the album, The Accumulation of Knowledge.

This makes me so happy, such a fun, happy ReMix with enough Larry to go around (especially if you are a fan of both Larry's). The music in itself is awesome, especially that solo from Willrock that was so damn good. Hell, jokes or not, the talking fit right in with the rest of mix. I think this ReMix could have me smiling for a long, long time. So damn fun, I love it.

I've never been to a PAX East before but apparently there's a MAG-style jamspace there too, I might hop in with Drumultima if he can stand my crappy flute playing more than once per year
Anyone else attending PAX East this year?
