  1. Great to hear halc give classic Mario is own brand of touch-up and expansion. I personally liked the use of SFX, especially the fireball noise to help move the beat along. Another wonderful ReMix from halc and a great addition to the album.
  2. Seems that we can count on Sir J to be apart of some of the most unique and interestingly styled ReMixes around, and this is no exception. Throw in some great mixing chops from G-Mixer and you're on a roll. Love that whistling to death, man. Was the perfect touch for this, like the cherry on top. It does sound like something straight out of a Warner Bros. cartoon, and throwing Mario into it is just too much fun. Cool stuff, guys.
  3. Such glitching fun all around, this is one of the highlights of the album for me. Just love how you manage to go from low-fi to amazing funk and back and forth again. Such a happy, peppy take on the main theme of the game, I like it. One of the best tracks I've heard from ToN so far.
  4. This is beautiful, Fishy. You managed to inject some rock into a peaceful and mysteriously calm source like Dire, Dire Docks, and it's everything I could have hoped for in a ReMix of this iconic water theme. Loved the sound of the drums and guitar, and I'm glad you were able to keep it close melodically while adding in some flavor. Damn good job, man.
  5. Now this is a dance track I can get behind. The amount of variety and changes as the ReMix goes on keeps the energy high and the track fresh. Loving the section around 4:00 onwards myself. Where the N64 expanded on the underground/cave theme, you expanded upon even more. Very nice work, Sole Signal.
  6. For two of the easily worlds to get hurt in and had some tense moments, this adventurous orchestral take on Lethal Lava Land sounds great, man, and it has the kind of satisfied vibe I'd expect from successfully accomplishing all the missions within those worlds. I was interested in seeing how this source would be handled ever since I heard of the project, and I'm happy to say that it was well worth the wait.
  7. Hahaha, oh wow. I have to hand it to anterrior for those incredible vocals! So groovy and full of life, I can totally dig this smooth ReMix. Hell of a beat as well. Wonderful arrangement and production values all around, so hats off to Timaeus222 and Chimpazilla as well. Going to be rollin' to this ReMix for a long time now.
  8. One of the few ReMixes I heard elsewhere before I heard it on OCR. This is definitely the kind of high-energy Drum and Bass track that is perfect for background music or just to have playing while something is going on. It may not be the best, most expansive track around, but it does it's job, I think. Not bad.
  9. There are some interesting choices, like the intro, that make the song your own, which is cool. Obvious age issues aside, though, it did feel like half a mix and was a bit short. Once the long intro got out of the way, things started to pick up a bit and then it went back to the intro for the ending and just stopped. I hear the foundation of where it could have went, but that's it. Not one of my favorites from AmIEvil.
  10. Nice, chill, hip-hoppish ReMix of Hyrule Castle, sweet. Almost makes me think of a couple of hyrule solders just cruising down a street in a top-down with bandanas on their heads with this in the background, which is funny enough. Po is the master of chill grooves, and I have to say that I liked this mix.
  11. For an early hip-hop ReMix, this really has the feel of some early in-game hip-hop I've heard, so in a way, it really fits as a bit of an upgrade to the ActRaiser source. The voices working in and out of the mix were a nice touch.
  12. I really enjoyed this take on Cid's FFIV theme. Probably the best arrangement of this source I've heard to date. The synth guitar sounds pretty nice and in-line to what I'd expect from an older Final Fantasy track. The ending is pretty quick to appear, but that's not much of an issue compared to the rest of the mix. Others may have some nitpicks beyond that, but I can't see anything that ruins it for me. Overall, I like this. Nice work.
  13. Well, it's a bit odd and the beat of the groove throws me off a little, but considering what was being shot for, I can understand some of the decisions made here. Personally not my favorite mix by you as a matter of taste, but nice work on creating something coherent and put-together with many smaller themes in it.
  14. Air Man is one of the few Mega Man themes I can pick up within the first five seconds, seeing as I'm still new to the series and to hear it combined with a bit of Wily's 5th castle sounds great. Guitar playing was well done by both artists and I enjoyed the arrangement in general. Nicely done.
  15. Nice, first Little Mac and now Pac-Man! The more news that comes out, the more hyped I get! ..........................
  16. Gorgeous piano work here. This is an absolutely lovely mix and I totally dig the summertime rain vibe shot for. Like Brandon said, the pacing and actual performance of this piece is just fantastic. Going to have to add this to my playlist.
  17. Now this is a mix that is in the "holding up" section. The balance between the bass and the forefront melody is great and helps the e-piano set the mood of a relaxing, yet fun and toe-tapping location. So chill.
  18. Hmmm, well, I can at least support this much more than the Tetris mix, but again, enough with the claps, man. Lots of jumping around and special effects going on that just kinda go through the motions of this kind of arrangement. Not digging the piano so much either. Something sounds a little off to me. And the sudden ending is a no-no to me. Guess I could at least highlight the beat near the end of the mix, but other than that, I didn't care for this one, sorry.
  19. This one isn't my favorite among the older DJP ReMixes, but the low-fi arrangement and synths did their job and kept my attention. I can hear the production age and it is a bit short. All my nitpicking aside, though, truthfully, I do enjoy this ReMix as an older classic and I can respect the work that went into this one and the ReMix itself for what it is.
  20. That bass is terrific for melding with the beat and bells that dance around it. Has a little bit of an ominous tone at some points, which was cool to hear with a rave arrangement like this. A little bit too loud at times, but other than that, it holds up fairly well.
  21. It's an odd piece to me, but certainly not a bad one. The drum beat and scratches working alongside the piano sounded good and the samples were done in a way that they seemed to aid the ReMix, rather than just appear and possibly hinder it, which is definitely a plus. Nice work.
  22. Congrats Cyril! Many wonderful and happy years for the couple!
  23. Ah, Chicago! One of the few Perfect Dark tracks I've listened to over and over again. The crackling effects and distortion on some of the samples and the overall sound helped make this ReMix perfectly dark (no pun intended) and haunting. Has a lot of sorrow from the piano and spooky qualities from everything else, and that's not something I often hear together on the same song. Pretty good ReMix, I'd have to say.
