  1. Seriously, nobody has mentioned Okami? Okami.
  2. From the dynamic duo that brought you "The Best Music," go give Beautiful Lifestyle a listen! G&J are currently holding a listening party on turntable.fm, if anyone's still up: http://turntable.fm/beautiful_lifestyle_no_cops
  3. This is gonna be so sick, your harmonies are phenomenal and dat album art... I'm a fan. +1 for hype.
  4. Finally, it's posted! This is probably one of my top five favorite video game remixes of all time, so I'm really happy to see it make the front page after what seems like such a long wait. Congratulations, Alex!! I've transcribed the piece here in case anyone wants the sheets.
  5. Wow, what an sweet opportunity! I will definitely be looking forward to seeing you perform live... eventually. In the meantime, have fun!!
  6. I almost feel bad for anyone missing out on this.
  7. As always, highly enjoyable. Me gusta. Very disjointed, as you said, but after I few listens I became used to it. The original song is much the same, though, so I can't really complain. If you were to join it with an impressionist arrangement of the Kokiri Village, length would become a non-issue...
  8. If you like Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Bartok, you'd probably enjoy composers such as Copland, Ives, (early) Webern, and, since you enjoy Holst, likely Mahler, Strauss, and Wagner. It's hard to recommend composers similar to Paganini, since he mostly composed solo works, but I really enjoy Rachmaninoff, Liszt, and Chopin, which I were definitely influenced by Paganini. Bach literally influenced everybody, so I can't really make any specific recommendations there. Personally, I absolutely love Romantic (Chopin and Mendelssohn) and Impressionist (Debussy and Ravel) composers. EDIT: Pictures at Exhibition is phenomenal.
  9. I don't know why I haven't commented, but this album is fantastic. Excellent work (as always), Sam!!
  10. This definitely works as "site" as in "a place." Could be either, but I'm just saying that, for the record, it's definitely not flat-out wrong. In any case, you won't be able to tell the difference aurally, soooooo :\
  11. Happy Birthday, Mokram! Hope your weekend is/was great!
  12. I mean, I've already done 3 of them, but some would literally be beyond my patience. I'll probably get at least The End and the first couple dark worlds done, and then just call it at that.
  13. Yeah, same here. ...Probably.Most recently though, I got the Golden God achievement on Super Meat Boy, after finally beating that stupid Skyscraper warp zone ( ). I actually went one beyond that, nabbing an A+ on every single stage in the game, including dark worlds and the bonus Cotton Alley stages. I'm not sure if clearing the -1 worlds counts toward the 100%, but I did that, too.Half of me wants to do all of the no-death runs of every world, but nope. Nope nope nope, that is not happening.
  14. Thoroughly enjoying this track, man, nice work. The quick change of soundscapes at the beginning was disorienting at first, but after multiple listens I don't even notice at all. Sounds pretty clean all the way through. I'll talk about piano since, hey, that's what I know. I'm feeling some grace notes to the opening piano solo, and the transition into 0:42 is still a little weird, even though I'm used to it now. The backing rhythmic chords from 1:10 could be brought forward a bit; as it stands they're a little too distant to have any real punch to them. You might wanna compress the piano chords at the end a little more to get more of a stylized sound, but I can't really think of anything to say besides that. Good stuff, nice FF7 references throughout. It's great to see you back!
  15. When episode 9 ended, the only thing I thought was, "Well, I sure hope the next episode is just five minutes of Tex letting loose." And I was not disappointed.
  16. I've never played the game either, but I love the album. Sci's, Flexstyle's, and Hylian's tracks are probably my favorites. Good stuff all around. Huge props, DJ Mokram!
  17. Here's another similar concept via NeoGAF: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357454 Really great stuff if you have the time to look through it all (not all covers are listed in the first post).
  18. We're adding live brass, as opposed to the Kick Ass Brass! placeholder renders that are in there now.
