I'm currently looking for a couple of games that must be out of print, as I can't find them at EB Games, Wal-Mart, or Amazon.com. So, my question for you is that is there any single place you like to buy hard to find games (think not E-bay)? The games I'm looking for are from around 2004 so they really aren't THAT old.

OCR01603 - Pokémon Red Version "TEEM.ROKIT"
Avatar of Justice replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I always liked the Team Rocket theme's melody, but never thought it sounded intimidating enough for the game's evil organization. I know it's Pokemon and all, but now I can listen to the Team Rocket theme getting the sinister justice it deserves. -
Anyone have a link to the trailer? It's apparently been taken off YouTube. Apparently Paramount hates free advertising or something.

Berserk has been trucking along since 1990 my friend. You can't hold Guts back.

Claymore was mildly entertaining until episode 5 where Claire's past was delved intod. After that, I've been sucked in and looked forward to it every week. It's not the greatest show ever, but I found it pretty fun. It manages to surprise me every once in awhile which is great.

Did this thread make anybody else pop their Earthbound cartridge in and start playing the damn thing again? I'm at Twoson now....

Underwhelming last bosses
Avatar of Justice replied to BardicKnowledge's topic in General Discussion
Final Boss of Contra. He's a joke compared to just the stages themselves. -
Anybody read how the final fight with Giygas was based on some traumatic childhood event that the director had? From the Giygas Wikipedia article More detail: http://boards.ign.com/earthbound/b5345/100109838/r100654716/ Pretty wild stuff. Sort've explains why I've always found Earthbound to be a bit creepy despite the ostensible light-heartedness of it.

Did I miss something or did you not cite a source for this information? Where's your proof? You make it sound like Nintendo went on the record about this.

I didn't like the "Cloverfield" trailer because it was filmed like a home video. Thanks, but I want processed corporatized movies.

The movie was alright. My major complaints 1)There wasn't enough robot vs. robot fighting throughout the film. There was Bumblebee vs. Barricade and the big climactic robot fighting at the end, and that was about it. 2)Sector 7 "Don't fuck with the Jesus" guy was annoying 3)The scene where Sam is trying to hide the Transformers from his parents and a discussion about masturbation ensued was drawn out waaay too long. I'm really surprised that wasn't mostly cut out and appeared on the DVD as a "director's cut" or something.

I must say, after Yiazmat, Omega Mark 12 was a huge disappointment in terms of the length of the battle and difficulty. I had assumed it was to be the "Omega Weapon" of the game, but I guess I forgot that Omega Weapons in Final Fantasy have almost always been really easy to defeat. And the Wyrmhero Blade that you get out of killing them both and completing the fishing mini-game is just way too slow to be worth using. Not that there's anything left in the game to kill it with.

For your dad to have been using "The Pezner" as a username since he was a kid and then passing it to you.....how long has your dad been using the Internet?

After getting Yiazmat down to his last 10 bars, then getting my ass kicked once he doubled his level, during Christmas vacation, I've decided to pop FF12 back in and give it another shot. Just 3 1/2 bars left. Now, I'm not even bother to heal anyone, just constant casting of Arising. Pretty slow going. The last five bars suck since he stops using his breath weapons and just spams you to death with Rake. I went from around 74 to 80 using the Henne mines trick, and that enabled me to at least get past the first five bars of the last ten.

The writeup over at 1up about Contra 4 was funny in that they conveniently ignored Contra Shattered Solider and just went on and on about how no true Contra sequel has appeared. I mean it doesn't have the spread gun, but it played like Contra to me. And it was harder than fuck.

Yeah, my friend was burning to know what happens when Death Note users die since Ray Penbar was totally screwed over on that front by Light. As far as Nothingness being a plus over Hell, I personally think I'd rather suffer in Hell as opposed to non-existence.
-
I was dissapointed with the ending *spoiler*simply because Light lost. I like Near, and I like his reasons for not agreeing with a world ruled by Light, but I still would've preferred total victory for the forces of evi...um...the New World of Order under Light*spoiler*. On a technical level I found it to be thrilling and exciting.

The 3rd OST finally got released. I can't get enough of Mello and Near's respective themes. Death Note has a great soundtrack.

FFX has my favorite overall storyline, but I think I had the most fun gameplay-wise in FF12 compared to all other FF's. It's the first one I sank 115 hours into and loved almost every minute of it.

What's wrong with pop music?
Avatar of Justice replied to Benjamin Briggs's topic in General Discussion
One thing that annoys me is that so much of pop music is about love and/or romantic relationships. Love is a great thing, to be sure, but it's not the only emotion. It's like only reading romance novels or something. -
Does this hold true for Macs? It certainly doesn't with Linux. Maybe you should have said "NEVER EVER EVER BUY WINDOWS IN THE FIRST 18 MONTHS FOLLOWING RELEASE" instead.

Which Final Fantasy should I play next?
Avatar of Justice replied to Thin Crust's topic in General Discussion
I find it odd that leveling is such a big concern for you. I've never played an RPG where as long I didn't run away 95% of the time while playing through the game, I'm always whatever level I need to be or higher in order to get through the game. I honestly like being a little lower than whatever is recommeneded just to make the battles challenging. -
Empty computer case spots
Avatar of Justice replied to Avatar of Justice's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, not helpful at all. Having huge gaping holes in the case is just dumb, especially when I'll be carrying this computer back and forth between my dorm and home. -
I have a funny problem some of you may have run into. Basically, I just bought a computer case from a friend of mine. The spots where the CD-ROM drive is supposed to go is completely empty and the case didn't come with the original fillers when he bought it. I've ran into this problem with my own cases, but I've always had enough spare CD-ROM drives to fill everything up. Not so anymore. Also, it only came with one PCI slot cover. Once again, I've ran into this situation with my own machine, and I always just stick old network cards and such to fill all the spots up to keep dust from getting in. But now, I just don't have all this extra hardware to use as covers. Anybody know what I can do about it?

Square-Enix's remake of FFIV for DS
Avatar of Justice replied to Majin GeoDooD's topic in General Discussion
Sweet! I get to buy this game for the 4th time! I'm glad they took Kain out of the logo, cause that always confused me despite him being awesome. Seriously, this is one of my favorite Final Fantasies, and I shall continue to buy it again and again for all my days.
