I haven't played Legends, but Origins has these: (the harmonies here... amazing) If Legends has a better soundtrack then... WOW.

The OST from this game is sick.

I submitted mine! It's mainly a fast rock song, but I got a bit carried away in the middle section Source usage should be easy to notice, but in case it doesn't here's a breakdown: - Intro uses Sky Zone's intro and a part of the main Green Hill melody. - 2nd riff introduced is very loosely based on Sky Zone. - 3rd riff is based on the last part of Green Hill and also includes a melody from Green Hill. - E. Piano section and the one following are based on the chord progression from the main part of Green Hill. - Outro is once again Sky Zone and Green Hill's intro, plus one other melody from Sky Zone.

I don't play enough modern games to be sure about this, but most Nintendo games still have amazing soundtracks. Super Mario 3D World, for example, is great. Also, Capcom still keeps their touch with Okami and the Phoenix Wright series.

I'm glad Lucario is back, I used him a lot in Brawl. I also expect Mewtwo to be in the game, with all the mega evolutions crap and that.

Yeah, and people can spend a lot on that even for products that they'll never use It could be a good business for them but one I don't really care about. Hope they don't leave the traditional console business.

wip DKC2 Forest Interlude / Web Woods remix
jnWake replied to CC Ricers's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Yeah, this is very loud. Do some experiments with less compression and see how it goes. Raise the volume of your speakers sometime! Anyway, is it just me or is the flute sample you use at the intro a little out of tune? It sounds really weird to me. -
Embrace the Night is very pretty, I loved it in DoD. The weird effect you did on the vocals bothers me a little though (especially on the first verse), I feel it would work better if the clean vocals were louder there. In any case, it's a minor nitpick since you really nailed the folk-ish metal style for the song! Also, in the part of the chorus, I think you should cut down the sss sound of your singing part (I know there must be a better term for it but I guess you get what I mean), it's a tad distracting.

finished F-Zero GX - Sand Ocean
jnWake replied to AngelCityOutlaw's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Nice guitar tone! I really like it. The intro gets a bit too loud, I think the choir sample should be quieter. The arrangement is nice but I don't think the synth you picked helps much. It's a bit hard to understand what it's playing and makes the song feel "melody-less". Maybe you could add a simpler synth and layer it so that the melody is easier to pick up? You could also add some variations in the second repetition -
This is chill! Panning seems a bit unbalanced... Not sure why though, maybe the E. Piano could be louder? Or is the bass panned? In any case, this is sounding good. Maybe the vibraphone could be a tad quieter, to make the rest of the instruments stand out a bit more.

Metal Mixing - A General Approach
jnWake replied to timaeus222's topic in Music Composition & Production
This is pretty good! I love how you included your reasoning for the mixing decisions. On the positives, I like how you mixed the snare. It sounds pretty powerful. You also did a pretty good job with the guitars and cymbals. However, I wonder why you don't give more love to the bass... I realize this particular song has quite a low tuned guitar, but bass could be a lot more noticeable. For example, cutting the Kick and boosting the bass in some low frequencies to make it stand out. Or, adding some distortion. When comparing your mix and the original, I feel the most noticeable difference is in kick and bass. While your mix has a very clicky kick, the original one has a more balanced and powerful one. Maybe some boosting in the lower frequencies could help! Also, for the click in the Kick, one frequent technique is to make a separate track for that. You send the Kick signal to that track and only leave the "click frequencies" there. It's a bit easier to mix imo. To be posted one, I wouldn't highlight getting a mix in the judging queue The song that interests me is the Non-Adept Battle by the way. I hope that one is from the first game... -

So, are themes not on the list remix-able? I've been listening to the tracks and there are some cool ones not listed there! I'm not posted yet but I'm on the queue, does that count? -
Considering the current mobile push, I think rumors of a new console by Nintendo would actually push the stock down instead of raise it I'm too lazy to search for it but NeoGAF has a thread where the guy that began that rumor said he has no idea who told him the specs or something like that by the way.
