  1. Here lies a witty retort on how the show never showed up. It died of malnutrition.
  2. Posted exactly four years after Estradasphere's take on the theme. Nice. Charm really is the word here. Not abstract enough that I'd call it gypsy, but really well played. It's interesting how this mix does indeed have similar structure to SuperBuckJazz, following through the source and then doing their own solo. When played side by side they feed off each other. Fun.
  3. *Nostaliga goes here* Really though, I've listened on and off to VGF since Kong in Concert (though I was obligated to grab VGF 24). Many songs played I've downloaded since and enjoyed. A shame to see it go, you did a good job Larry. And a best of show? It'll be interesting to see what ends up on there, and to see if the bad taste truly does filter onto the playlist..
  4. Oh, I'm mostly taking note because one of his arguments entailed Kong in Concert racking up downloads twice as much as the other projects because there was 'quality control' back then.
  5. Is Prot repeatedly downloading Kong in Concert just so this doesn't take the lead? I have no life because I've been watching the download counters for the past few weeks.
  6. Okay.. now I only need a Tintin avatar before I'll kill myself trying to choose.
  7. Is that a challenge? Bring it on, bitch. The Prince NAMCO 2004 The Prince, while being the playable character in Katamari Damacy, goes to the extremes of characterisation. That is, he has almost none. Appearing mute throughout the game, and receiving little screen time due to his very expressive father, The King of All Cosmos, Prince is given the task of cleaning a rather large mess. The King, in a drunken stupor, accidentally destroyed all the stars in the sky one night, leaving his only son to find enough material on earth to rebuild the stars. While apparently an impossible task to the 5 centimetre tall Prince, the player is given one very useful object to help them, the Katamari. This small, round item could attach itself to anything not larger than itself, of which The Prince rolled around to pick up anything not bolted to the ground. Pencils could lead to books, which led to dogs, which led to people, buildings and mountains. Indeed, after much collecting, The Prince could barely be seen rolling the ball. These katamaries could then eventually replace the stars that were once lost. Katamari Damacy quickly grew a fan base in gaming circles, seeing The Prince and his game as a breath of fresh air. Such was the basis for We ♥ Katamari, where Prince and The King attempted to satisfy the requests from their newfound fans. The Prince has many cousins, which appeared in the original but were playable in the sequel’s single player. Quote: "See you again soon!" 8. Shonen provides the vocals? Funny, I was under the impression that that was Jeremy. Nice work anyhow, great guitar playing. Also, notable for the first mix to have a time assigned to when it was posted. An interesting addition..
  9. International voicemail? Didn't know you could do that.. And Frame of Mind for the win.
  10. Is Big Giant Circles becoming the new AE? Using FL to get some fantastic results, a great full sound, etc. This one gets loud, but doesn't fall into the cluttered stuff that other artists tend to get stuck in. At first I was apprehensive of the lack of bass in the intro, but that all changed after a few seconds. And the marching band percussion! I loved the way you used it in Anthem of a Metroid Hunter, and it makes a great return cameo here. Great variation that doesn't overstay its welcome.
  11. Just clearing things up, 73 be Orta from Panzer Dragoon Orta, and 87 is Heather Morris from Silent Hill 3.
  12. I feel bad doing bios on the characters Dafydd has in his sig, because he has to change them. Oh well.
  13. Don't worry, there'll be a COMEBACK SPECIAL! for VG Frequency for it's 50th Anniversary. Listen to the COMEBACK SPECIAL! starring Larry at a ripe old age, finding out if your balls really do shrivel up when you get older. Classic remixers who reminisce about episodes of old, the time Larry finally shaved off his pubefro in 08, and how djpretzel murdered virt that time at Magfest 17. I'm looking forward to that COMEBACK SPECIAL! In denial.
  14. I wasn't feeling this at first. Don't know why. Especially after hearing the original, it's amazing to see how José expanded on the theme. Smooth, chill, and any other description of that nature fits the bill here perfectly. A pity we don't see your stuff too often, but if quality over quantity is what you go for, then I can definitely embrace that.
  15. You should also be sure to not post in a review thread if you haven't listened. Last time I looked, good mixes are good mixes, no matter what their origin is.
  16. Ganondorf NINTENDO 1998 Ganondorf is known as the leader of the Gerudo, King of Thieves, and the human incarnation of what was to become Ganon from the early Zelda titles. He desires above all the Triforce, the sacred object of legend, to rule over the land of Hyrule. His Triforce alignment is that of power, leaving the Triforce of Wisdom and Courage to Princess Zelda and hero Link respectively. Though given his muscle bound appearance, Ganondorf’s main power lies in his magical skills. His main attack lies in shooting balls of magic from his hand that Link must deflect with his sword. Though he appears with a sword originally, it was not used until the spin off Super Smash Bros Melee and GameCube sequel The Wind Waker. The King of Evil’s backstory was originally delved into with the 1998 title Ocarina of Time, the first Zelda title chronologically. Arriving from the desert in the west of Hyrule, he proposed an alliance between the Gerudo race and the Hylian King. A young Zelda and Link realized his intentions were not what they seemed to be, proceeding to collect the three spiritual stones to open the path to the Triforce. However, once Link was sealed in the Sacred Realm to become the Hero of Legend, Ganondorf claimed the Triforce for himself and proceded to take over Hyrule. Ganondorf’s appearance in The Wind Waker depicted an older man returned from the Sacred Realm many years later. His attacks are much more physical, and a different perspective on his character is told through the story. Quote: "Pathetic little fool! Do you realize who you're dealing with? I am Ganondorf, and soon I will rule the world!" Source: Ganondorf Wikipedia Page Super Smash Bros Melee Trophy Section The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Manual Ganondorf Indie Zelda Bio Games Ganondorf has appeared in: NINTENDO 64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) GAMECUBE Super Smash Bros Melee (2001) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2003) November 6 edit- Removed the statement: 'The fiend was eventually defeated seven years later with the help of Link and the Sages, his form mutated by the corrupting power of the Triforce, becoming Ganon.' It's my impression that Nintendo intended for people to know that Ganondorf is Ganon (Ocarina was a prequel), so that's not a spoiler. The above sentence gives away details of the ending though, hence its removal.
  17. So this had to be titled to get on OCR, but why didn't the project version get the same treatment? Though 'To Far Away Times' has a good ending ring, I suppose.
  18. ReMix medley? Transitions nonexistent, little attention to dynamics, wall of sound cymbal crash. NO OVERRIDE Though it is fun to pick out the different songs.
  19. Could it be? A Gran Turismo mix that beats Toyota Disco? I'd have to say, it's pretty close. Excellent tango element that really brings the mix together, I'm loving that. A nice fusion of genres, too. As soon as VGMix is back up, I'll be grabbing the rest of your stuff, ilp0. The jury's still out on whether this is better than Toyota Dicko, though..
  20. Tomorrow? Damn, and I got home early today too. Oh well, be missing the first two hours, then. EDIT- Ohsnap I should read. Perfect timing then.
  21. A little late, but a Valentine's Day listening didn't go amiss. This is the better version in my eyes, after extended listening of both pieces. The ending especially an improvement over the previous version. Would've been nice to see a re- recorded Funky Kong section, but Larry smellz. What can you do.
