  1. For me it's Kotaku and Joystiq, but since a few people have mentioned Destructoid, I'll check it out once in awhile and see if I add it to my "daily" site list. But yeah, Kotaku is REALLY quick with their information, and have some cool quirky video game things that only a geek like me would like. They're not very professional, but they get find some interesting stuff and they find it fast. Joystiq, on the other hand, seems to be the more "professional" of the two. They also have some certain little tidbits I like such as the "What's in the name?" articles, as well as finding just a couple things before Kotaku. I think I'll start checking on Destructoid though, since it was mentioned a few times
  2. I love all the creative attacks/combinations that he thinks about, it's crazy. IIRC, the best part of the 8th episode was when Luigi used the Tanooki to turn into stone, then I think he was hurled at an enemy, then Yoshi swallowed him and turned him into an egg, Mario used his hammer to hit the egg at enemies and Luigi broke out of the stone form to hit 'em. Some crazy good, fast-paced stuff in this series
  3. Don't necessarily want a computer built, but can anybody recommend me a good PCI (not Express ) video card?
  4. Very nice. Looking forward to any info for this game...heck we don't even know what genre it will be yet.
  5. Hmm...it seems like patience is a portion of this game. I think I may pass it up then unless something I stumble upon changes my mind.
  6. Hey, I might get flak for this, but what exactly is awesome about Braid? Once I heard it went $5 I considered buying it, but realized I'd never actually looked into all the praise about it. Will I still like it if I despise 2D adventure puzzlers (which I assumed it was)?
  7. If I can finish this little sketch of mine this week, I can enter. However, it's been sitting there for quite awhile... ...oh and relyanCe I'll totally take that challenge if I don't feel my original entry, which, in replying this way, obviously involves Mario/Sonic in some way .
  8. To be honest and cheesy, it really helped me in settling down "who I was". I first listened to OCRemix when I was in them early teen years, and trying to fit in, questioning what I like and whatnot, and with such a thriving and awesome community it really helped me learn that people just like what they like.
  9. My goodness this is friggin' awesome. Videos were great . [EDIT] After watching each of them a few times, I have to say that the Chrono medley is definitely my favorite. Near the end when Frog's Theme overlaps with Scars of Time I always get chills. Arranged very nicely.
  10. Yeah, sorry for not entering, but I really had trouble trying to think of something with the material. The creatures are really intricate, and I basically had not experience with any of the games whatsoever, so it was hard filling in the blanks that I can do with a lot of other games I've played. Great job Coop for winning though, your entry was gorgeous .
  11. I have to admit, the Soulja Boy one got me laughing, and in the way that "this is so stupid but it's so good that I actually might like it" sort of laugh. [EDIT] Wow that Robo's Theme one is pretty catchy too haha.
  12. You know, of all the good things I've heard in the movie, I've never been REALLY compelled to see the movie. But for some odd reason this comparison makes me want to go out and watch it...
  13. Both disappointed and relieved. Gah, just re-release Skies of Arcadia Legends (lol Skies of Arcadia: Legends' Legend) with clearer sound, current-gen graphics, all the DC mini-quests, and a SoA OST pre-order bonus (so basically a full-fledged remake), and I would've been happy.
  14. God I wished I played this game back on the Saturn, too bad I couldn't find a copy back then >_<. But uh...not sure I'll be able to enter this one, due to lack of experience with the subject and lack of inspiration haha >_<.
  15. That was pretty dope. I hope you make more of these related to video games!
  16. Yeah, I agree, but at the same time I felt that the movie took the classic "coward into hero" formula, and did something good with it. I mean at that "point" when a person usually snaps and finds courage in themselves to do that certain action that makes them courageous, there are usually people there to witness it you know? But what I liked was how the only person who was there to witness the protagonist's courage were the aliens themself, of whom didn't really "matter" to the protagonist at all. And the one person who benefited most from his courage wasn't there to preach about it to the rest of the human beings. I don't know it was sort of like a "pure courage" to me, in that nobody was there to witness all that he did, and yet he did a crapload.
  17. Ah, so saw it yesterday as planned and wow, I have to say that all the descriptions are pretty spot on. A lot of stuff goes on in the movie, and it really kept me on the edge of my seat for a long time. Love the buildup to the "main problem" though, despite it being foreshadowed and whatnot. I think what I really loved most however was that it always kept me guessing - I like movies that do that. There are times when a movie can be predictable and it really loses momentum if you figure out what's going to happen before it actually happens, but the movie just kept coming with things I didn't expect (not COMPLETE AND UBER plot-twists, just to make things clear), but there were so many choices that could have been taken. All in all it was a great movie and for awhile after the movie me and my friends could only describe it as "weird" because we couldn't put our finger on a lot of stuff haha.
  18. Aw man, you guys are getting me excited for this movie: I hope I'm not getting too hyped up haha. Me and a couple friends have decided to watch it tomorrow and all-in-all it seems like its a pretty decent movie that won't let me down . I'll give my input after I see it, but I suck at trying to put down thoughts about a movie down into words >_<.
  19. God dammit you guys are making me want to see this movie so bad now >_<. I like being overfed in a small amount of time when it comes to movies for some reason. And uh gravity gun? I'm recommending this movie for me and my girlfriend to watch this Sat. as we speak.
  20. Talk about random OCRemix Trivia lol. Is there anything else nifty we should know?
  21. There have been a flood of tower defense games recently, and I honestly don't know how it started. Not sure but it seems to me ever since WC3:FZ's TDs were made, they've been making their way everywhere. I enjoy them to an extent, but only if they manage to be different somehow. While most of the time it seems its really just "build in right spot at right time, upgrade", there are a couple out there that stand out to me. One of them is actually a flash game, Gemcraft, that can be found on Kongregate/Newgrounds. Was sorta a breath of fresh air to the TDs I was playing, but yeah, they get old real fast for me >_<.
  22. Damn, if not for linkspast I was going to say "because I live the closest".
  23. Eh, if it truly is a Skies sequel I'd feel a mixture of both fear and excitement: excited that a sequel IS being made to such a fantastic game, but scared that they're going to mess it up. Reason being that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (I haven't played it, however) seems to have been messed up from the original formula in that you have to take more effort into avoiding the bird (rather than the solitary Ideya Capture) to get any massive links. While I love sequels to games I love, I won't love them if they're not done right. Unfortunately, however, I fear Skies did what it did TOO right. There's an article floating around somewhoere on Edge or something about why Skies was so lovable and awesome despite it not really revolutionizing everything. The article was on point though and really emphasized things that Skies did that really set it apart from other JRPGs: one namely was the whole "you're actually discovering a world and developing your character and story" and whatnot. Besides other RPGs where you just level up your character, the whole building a crew, discovering new parts of the world, and ability to break the bounds of that existed in 70% of the game (high/deep sky) really is one thing Skies did right. Awwww man Skies is so awesome .
  24. I have never played Secret of Mana or any of that sort, so unlike many of my other reviews, this one isn't affected by nostalgia...and yet I find myself loving this song so much. Everytime I hear this song it really does what the lyrics say and "takes me away" into another world. While the lyrics aren't the best, they definitely work with the song for me, and this song is a must for any "OCRemix with lyrics" playlist.
  25. I actually never really liked this song in the game, however what Rozovian did with it, I liked. It's almost like this was the way the song was supposed to sound in my opinion, a chill, relaxing tune, instead of the original upbeat version found in GX. Great job Rozovian, managed to take a song I didn't like and make a remix of it that I thoroughly enjoy .
